finally found a main character who actually struggles for once

honestly gets so old seeing these guys get legendary cheat codes on page one, so seeing Hye just standing there empty-handed while the world goes to hell was actually pretty refreshing. i kept waiting for some secret god to whisper in his ear but the guy is literally just a nobody for the longest time, which makes the whole thing feel way more desperate when those star gods are just staring down at everyone like it's a reality show. the part where that first area territory pops up in the middle of the city was super jarring but in a good way, though i swear he almost died like four times in the first ten pages which felt a bit much. it's a solid read but the pacing is a bit weird because he spends so much time hiding under that broken bridge, i almost forgot he was supposed to be the hero and not just some background extra who was about to get eaten. the system stuff is cool and all but the lack of a class makes the combat feel scrappy and gross, in a cool way though, i just wish the dialogue from those guiding entities wasn't so cryptic because it started to give me a headache after a while.
