Your Talent is Mine Chapter 1173: Drawing Out the Assassin!

TL: Etude
Dao Ancestor Flying Dragon previously engaged the Killgod Hall to eliminate a Dao Ancestor, forging ties with a prominent figure inside the organization.
Luckily, that senior official in the Killgod Hall remained alive. Otherwise, tracking down the Killgod Hall would have proven extremely difficult for him.
…
Feng Family, Secret Chamber.
Dao Ancestor Flying Dragon took out a client token from the Killgod Hall and triggered it. A strand of his divine sense traversed dimensions, entering a enigmatic realm.
Right away, he called upon that senior member of the Killgod Hall.
Soon enough, a shadowy illusory form materialized, cloaked in blackness. In this mental domain, identifying the individual's real face was impossible.
“You’ve arrived, Ming,” Dao Ancestor Flying Dragon said.
“Dao Ancestor Flying Dragon, what brings you to me?” Ming asked.“I want to hire the Killgod Hall to kill someone!” Flying Dragon declared his intent straightforwardly.
“Who?” Ming inquired directly, without mincing words.
“Ye Xingchen,” Flying Dragon answered.
“Ye Xingchen?” Ming laughed lightly. “Do you mean Ye Xingchen, the son of the Human Race’s Dao Ancestor of Ten Thousand Laws?”
“Exactly right,” Flying Dragon affirmed with a nod.
Ming paused briefly before continuing. “Ye Xingchen holds the rank of Supreme True Ancestor and boasts at least a 90% likelihood of ascending to Invincible Dao Ancestor status later on. Furthermore, his father, the Dao Ancestor of Ten Thousand Laws, possesses even superior promise. Assassinating Ye Xingchen comes at a steep fee. The quoted price: 10,000 Forbidden Dao Stones or items of matching worth. Will you pay it?”
“What? Ten thousand Forbidden Dao Stones? That's absurd!” Flying Dragon burst out, reeling from the sky-high demand. Such a sum could shatter the Feng Family's core strength.
Even though a vein of Forbidden Dao Stones had lately surfaced in the Forbidden Mountain Range, producing tens of thousands, and scattered forbidden zones had yielded a handful more, their value stayed extraordinarily high. Frequent finds hadn't cheapened them at all.
The Feng Family held just a handful of Forbidden Dao Stones. Substituting with other valuables would drain more than half their treasure reserves.
Paying such a fortune for vengeance—a cost that might ruin the Feng Family—left Flying Dragon profoundly hesitant.
“If you're not willing, then drop it. Truth be told, the Killgod Hall isn't keen on taking this job anyway,” Ming replied icily.
“I'll think it over,” Flying Dragon said quickly.
“Decide within three days. The deal ends then,” Ming stated before disappearing.
Flying Dragon's divine sense retreated from the void realm, flowing back into his fleshly form.
“Three days, is it?” Flying Dragon murmured with a sigh, then gathered his fellow Dao Ancestors for a council.
The discussion dragged on for two full days until they settled on a choice. Through a slim majority, they agreed to fork over the riches and contract the Killgod Hall.
…
Blackwind Mountain.
Ye Tian was deep in closed-door cultivation when a message from the Feng King arrived. Reluctantly, he headed to the Feng King Small Domain.
“Feng King, what's going on?” Ye Tian inquired, puzzled.
“Your son faces danger,” the Feng King answered.
“What?” Ye Tian's brow furrowed as he pressed, “What happened?”
“A hit has been placed on your son, Ye Xingchen, at the Killgod Hall!” the Wind King revealed.
“Killgod Hall!”
Ye Tian knew this group well. It operated as a secretive assassin guild, its killers drawn from diverse sects.
Additionally, the Killgod Hall wielded immense power. Lacking an Invincible Dao Ancestor, it still commanded numerous Pinnacle Dao Ancestors, rivaling an Eighth Heaven power.
Yet, with recruits from varied origins, Killgod Hall didn't count as an Upper Three Heavens entity, acting more like a casual alliance.
Blackwind Mountain shared a similar plight in not earning Upper Three Heavens status. Some members hailed from the Lower Three Heavens and doubled as bandits, barring official recognition.
A contract from Killgod Hall spelled deadly peril for Ye Xingchen—unless he hid on Blackwind Mountain forever.
That option was impractical.
“Wind King, I've heard Killgod Hall assassins swear lifebound vows keeping mission secrets sealed. Hits shouldn't leak out. How did you learn of this?” Ye Tian wondered.
“Hahaha, regular killers can't spill details, indeed. Who'd risk posting jobs otherwise? But I'm no ordinary one. In fact, I'm one of Killgod Hall’s three Vice Hall Masters!” the Wind King chuckled.
“What? Wind King, you're a Vice Hall Master in Killgod Hall?” Ye Tian exclaimed in shock.
This bombshell revelation hit him like a thunderbolt. He'd figured the Wind King had sneaked into Killgod Hall, feeding info through some covert channel. Finding out the Wind King was actually one of its Vice Hall Masters left him stunned.
“The other ten kings of Blackwind Mountain are in on this secret, and as a Great Heavenly King of Blackwind Mountain, second only to us in rank, you deserve to know it too,” the Wind King clarified.
Next, he recounted the story of his rise to Vice Hall Master in Killgod Hall.
The Wind King had first signed up with Killgod Hall for some side cash. With his power steadily increasing, he climbed the ladder step by step, securing a Vice Hall Master position loaded with real clout. Yet, even he had no clue about Killgod Hall’s Hall Master. That enigmatic person stayed hidden in shadows.
“Wind King, any idea who put out the bounty?”
Ye Tian inquired. Suspicions brewed in his mind, but he held back from assuming.
“It’s the Feng Family! The very Feng Family from Heavenly Emperor Palace—the kin of Imperial Son Fengyang!” the Wind King shot back.
“Just as I thought!” Ye Tian’s rage ignited fiercely.
“Wind King, what's our next move?” Ye Tian scowled.
“Have Ye Xingchen step out from Blackwind Mountain to lure the killers. Fire King will shadow him in secret for protection. The moment any assassin strikes, Fire King jumps in! Killgod Hall won’t dispatch another; they dread dragging the whole organization into it. A botched hit counts as mission failed. Failed assassins either perish or quit Killgod Hall on their own,” the Wind King laid out.
“Got it. Your plan it is!” Ye Tian nodded.
Soon after, the Wind King filled Ye Xingchen in on everything.
Ye Xingchen stayed cool about it but held off leaving Blackwind Mountain right away. A full thousand years passed before he ventured out, roaming spots across the Human Race.
Ye Tian hung back from tailing Ye Xingchen, aware his company could scare off the assassins.
Word from the Wind King confirmed an assassin had grabbed the contract. A silver-tier one, packing Sixth Heaven Dao Ancestor might.
Hunting a Supreme True Ancestor like Ye Xingchen, that Sixth Heaven Dao Ancestor was set for victory.
Killgod Hall’s near-90% success rate stemmed from this—elite killers ambushing softer marks from the dark, stacking the odds sky-high.
One day, Ye Xingchen soared through a void expanse.
All at once, the void hardened, and a horrifying aura pinned him down.
He realized Killgod Hall’s assassin had struck at last!
