Fu Xiuyuan examined Shi Jin's genuine identification card, exposing Deng Yufei's deception with the expired student ID. Shi Jin confidently retrieved Fu Xiuyuan's ID, clasped his hand intimately, and led him to the Civil Affairs Bureau amid his surging joy. Song Fan trailed warily as they arrived, where Fu Xiuyuan swiftly signed the documents, his sweaty palm betraying hidden nerves.

Fu Xiuyuan cast a sideways glance at her. A wave of sadness washed over Shi Jin as memories surfaced of him collapsing into her arms, his face drenched in blood from her previous life.

Pushing back her tears, she quickly grabbed the pen and signed the paperwork.

Clutching the two red booklets firmly, Shi Jin walked out alongside him.

Song Fan rubbed his eyes and pinched his thigh hard, convinced he was seeing things.

This was no dream at all! His thigh was even bruised from the repeated pinches.

Seated properly in the car, Fu Xiuyuan's icy expression had faded, yet a powerful presence still emanated from him.

Though delighted by Shi Jin's sudden shift in demeanor, he feared it might just be the prelude to trouble.

Shi Jin knew full well about the deceptions and false vows she'd spun over the years to escape him. Even now with the marriage certificate, doubts lingered that her commitment was genuine.

Lost in his thoughts, Fu Xiuyuan suddenly sensed a chill in his palm. Glancing down, he spotted the red booklets.

“Xiuyuan, why don’t you hold onto this?” Shi Jin asked lightly, her smile open and genuine. “You take the marriage license. I'll live at Repulse Bay Villa from here on out.”

His slender fingers stiffened instantly, gripping the license so hard his knuckles whitened. His gaze locked intently on her face.

Somewhat mournfully, Shi Jin lifted his hand. “Deng Yufei claimed I wanted to flee, but that's false. Going forward, trust only my words.”

“Shi Jin.” Fu Xiuyuan's voice came out low and rough as he clasped her delicate hands. Still, his brows stayed furrowed, as if probing the truth behind her statement.

Shi Jin murmured gently, “I was foolish before, unable to distinguish people from beasts. That ends today. Ignore everything unless it comes straight from me, particularly Deng Yufei.”

“Okay.” Fu Xiuyuan's throat bobbed as he vowed solemnly.

“Why does she have free access to Repulse Bay Villa? Why can she reach you so easily?” Shi Jin questioned.

Fu Xiuyuan answered, “I have no idea.”

It hit Shi Jin at once that Deng Yufei's privileges stemmed from her own connections, not Fu Xiuyuan's doing.

Deng Yufei had been parading as her closest friend. Who would bar her from Repulse Bay Villa? Would Fu Xiuyuan ever suspect anything off about Deng Yufei's words? It was entirely her own mistake.

After sorting her thoughts, Shi Jin noticed Fu Xiuyuan's anxious look. Feeling guilty, she leaned in and pressed a masked kiss to the edge of his lips.

The shadows in his eyes vanished, replaced by a brilliant spark.

Repulse Bay Villa.

The shift in Fu Xiuyuan's demeanor was palpable to all. He exuded unusual warmth, his usual stern face now softened.

One servant, caught off guard by Fu Xiuyuan's altered mood, spilled water by mistake. Pale with fear and expecting doom, he was stunned when Fu Xiuyuan simply dismissed him with a wave.

Such a thing had never happened before—a true marvel!

Riding in the front passenger seat on the return trip, Song Fan hadn't watched Shi Jin closely, missing her kiss to Fu Xiuyuan. That's why he couldn't fathom the dramatic turnaround in Fu Xiuyuan's spirits.

Fu Xiuyuan had appeared utterly composed leaving the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Still, he earnestly wished Shi Jin would honor her promise this time!
