Wizard: Unlimited Profession Slots Chapter 747 - 343: Remote AFK Mode (Part 4)
Previously on Wizard: Unlimited Profession Slots...
Picturing his puppet radiating brilliantly in the arena, picturing the envious and stunned faces of the other Apostles.
The very idea almost sent Nari into a faint.
"I must make my darling the strongest!"
He determined to craft a more organized development strategy:
To begin with, gather additional top-tier Abyssal Creatures to supply abundant nourishment for the puppet;
Next, hunt for rare ability seeds to equip the puppet with a broader range of fighting techniques;
Above all, carry out battle drills, allowing the puppet to adapt to diverse combat scenarios...
"Mom will give you the best of everything..."
Nari fixed his gaze on the puppet within the capsule: "You must strive to be Mommy’s pride..."
At the same time, inside the lab at the Abyssal Observation Station, Ron sensed a powerful surge rising from the depths of his mind.
It came as a feedback pulse from the Stand-In Puppet, sharper than any before.
"This intensity of feedback..."
Astonished, Ron halted his experiments and started scrutinizing the data closely:
"The puppet’s growth rate is far beyond expectations."
Via that subtle mental connection, he detected the dramatic shift in the puppet’s surroundings.
The Abyssal Apostle’s formidable presence lingered.
Yet a new sensation emerged, one he’d never encountered: a profound, unwavering maternal affection.
"This Abyssal Apostle... actually considers the puppet as its child?"
Ron chuckled at the thought, then grasped the huge potential here:
"It truly was an unintended consequence that became beneficial, now the puppet not only has a safe growth environment but is also receiving a large investment of precious resources."
Moreover, with the puppet’s powers growing stronger, the feedback via "Two-way Communication" grew ever more potent.
He sensed enhancements in his pollution resistance, mental fortitude, and even comprehension of Abyssal Energy.
"The effect of Two-way Link is much better than theoretically expected..."
Ron proceeded to log the precise shifts in stats during this phase:
"This ’remote standby’ model might be applicable to more projects."
His mind turned to the synthetic beings crafted by Ancient Alchemists.
Should a comparable Two-way Link be forged, letting those entities evolve on their own afar while channeling strength back to their maker...
"Yet another brand new research direction... can be noted down, and once I become an Ancient Alchemist, there will be ample time to try it."
While Ron immersed himself in these ideas, a soft knock echoed at the lab door.
"Wizard Ralph, sorry to disturb you."
A courteous voice sounded from beyond the door:
"I am Assistant Researcher Alvin, Professor Yutel asked me to inform you about the arrangement for tomorrow afternoon at three."
Ron approached the entrance, switching to observation view to render the door see-through from inside.
A slender youth waited out there.
He bore the classic look of a scholar.
Skin pallid, eyes sunken deep, face marked by fatigue from endless study.
Most eye-catching was the detection bracelet encircling his right wrist.
Crafted from "sensitive metal," its surface swirled with hues denoting levels of Abyssal Erosion.
From the green tinged faintly yellow on his wrist, his erosion had advanced considerably...
"Please come in." Ron swung the door open, spotting the faint limp in Alvin’s step:
"What specific arrangement does the professor have?"
"Tomorrow afternoon at three, the professor hopes you will visit the collection room to inspect the Ancient Master’s Sword."
Reverence laced Alvin’s tone:
"Those swords... each of them carries its own story and will. The professor emphasized that you need to prepare for Spiritual Protection in advance."
He hesitated briefly, concern flickering:
"Last year, a researcher was improperly protected and was influenced by the residual will of one of the swords, now he is receiving treatment at a nursing home."
"What kind of influence?" Ron asked, curiosity piqued.
"The sword’s previous owner was a High Bloodline Knight specializing in hunting Abyssal Creatures."
Alvin dropped his voice, as though sharing a chilling secret:
"After contact, the researcher began to exhibit compulsive hunting urges. He would go alone to danger zones at night, seeking any target that could be ’purified.’
That revelation spiked Ron’s excitement for the next day’s trip.
Any armament able to sway the psyche of handlers surely held fascinating artistry.
"Thank you for the heads up." He nodded gratefully: "I will prepare thoroughly."
Once Alvin departed with politeness, Ron went back to his workbench.
The Ancient Master’s Sword, the Stand-In Puppet’s swift progress, and a major leap imminent for the simulation gear...
Gazing toward the Abyss, anticipation swelled within him.
Though night deepened, fatigue evaded him; instead, zeal for research blazed higher:
"Ailan, please brew me a pot of invigoration tea, add more invigorating components than last time."
