Nari dwells within a grotesque fortress of fused flesh and steel, a former base of the Steel Brotherhood now twisted by the Abyss. As an Abyssal Apostle, Nari maintains a treasury of captured souls and memories while struggling against the inherent corruption of its own chaotic spirit. Wracked by the agonizing erosion of its consciousness, the creature finds a new and intriguing object of interest while reflecting on its own lonely, painful existence.

Times past have seen this existence suffer a total collapse of its faculties.

Karasong, known as the "Devouring Giant Mouth," was an Apostle even more ancient than Nari.

Having failed to preserve a rational equilibrium over a vast span of time, it ultimately spiraled into a state of absolute loss of control.

That once cunning entity morphed into a living catastrophe, driven solely by an unending hunger.

It proceeded to consume the very domain it had spent millennia cultivating, along with every minion and relic it possessed.

In the end, it met its demise through self-cannibalization, leaving behind nothing more than a colossal void.

To bypass such a grim destiny, Apostles must actively seek methods to safeguard their sanity.

The most successful strategy is the systematic cultivation of subordinates:

By embedding power seeds within different organisms, they forge a distinct spiritual tether.

This link facilitates more than just the transfer of power; the developmental journey of the subordinate produces a unique form of feedback energy.

This feedback, while reminiscent of the "Favor" mechanisms encountered in the Wizard World, is far more crude and direct in nature.

As an Awakened’s power ascends, their internal mental structures generate fluctuations in order.

These ripples are directed back to the Apostle via the power seed, helping to pacify their chaotic consciousness.

Nevertheless, this endeavor is significantly more arduous than it might appear.

Although the entities converted by Wizards remain more rational, their progression in power is lamentably slow.

Furthermore, they frequently retain a high degree of free will, which renders total dominance a difficult feat.

Most importantly, the spiritual wards employed by Wizards are typically so robust that the success of forced conversions is highly improbable.

Conversely, Abyssal variants develop rapidly, yet their inherent nature is far more volatile.

Throughout the cultivation process, irregular mutations occur with high frequency, posing a risk that they might eventually turn against their master.

Nari, an Innate Apostle, occupies a precarious position; while its intellect exceeds that of standard abyssal variants, its inner chaos remains profoundly deep.

This internal contradiction presents a nearly impossible stalemate when it attempts to cultivate its own followers.

Infusing power necessitates absolute precision, yet its basic temperament rejects any form of order; simultaneously, it desperately craves comprehension and interaction, yet its cognition is entirely incompatible with other living things.

As a temporary remedy, Apostles often resort to manipulating their surroundings via energy radiation.

They release their essence, inciting mutation and evolutionary changes in the local Abyssal Creatures.

These improved beings yield a minor feedback loop for a brief window, barely sufficient to maintain the Apostle’s precarious rational stability.

However, such unintended influence is ultimately insignificant.

For a being like Nari, teetering on the precipice of madness, this result is merely a drop in the ocean.

It requires active, substantial, and consistent feedback rather than this dispensable residue.

With great effort, Nari lifted its head, deciding to reach out to its sole master.

"Chai Ye, my lord..." It whispered the name internally, a mixture of profound reverence and terror.

......

Deep within the magma sea located on the Ninth Layer of the Abyss, the "Dragon-headed Demon" Chai Ye was engaged in his routine training.

This Supreme Apostle had long since evolved beyond the classification of any known creature.

Three distinct faces surrounded a central ocular orb, each visage conveying a unique personality and emotion.

When his four pairs of crimson wings unfurled, they blotted out the void itself, while the lower portion of his massive serpent tail was armored in razor-sharp scales.

At this moment, Chai Ye was braving the crushing force of the deepest magma ocean floors.

This unique sea of lava not only burned at temperatures far beyond standard magma but also subjected him to intense gravitational pressure.

To Chai Ye, however, this environment was the ideal forge for his physique.

By enduring agony, he refined his very essence; pain, pressure, and the struggle against death were the true catalysts for his growth.

Upon receiving Nari’s timid plea, all three of Chai Ye’s faces contorted in visceral disgust.

"It is that incompetent wretch again..." his voice roared with the intensity of a furnace:

"To be unable to resolve such a minor complication—what was I thinking, believing it served any purpose?"

Chai Ye recalled their initial meeting with total clarity.

At that time, it had just surfaced from the will of the Primordial Abyss, exuding an aura of suffocating power.

Chai Ye had been exhilarated, certain he had stumbled upon a rare asset.

Entities of the Innate Apostle level are exceptionally rare and typically possess monumental potential.

Yet, the more he engaged with Nari, the greater Chai Ye’s disappointment grew.

This so-called Innate Apostle possessed might, certainly, but it was as dull-witted as a beast.

More detrimentally, their interactions often left Nari’s chaotic thought patterns bleeding into Chai Ye’s own carefully maintained consciousness.

After every dialogue, Chai Ye required days to purge the invasive, polluted mental shards.

Nari proved utterly incapable of mastering basic skills like subordinate cultivation.

No matter the patience Chai Ye displayed in his instructions, the creature committed the same errors endlessly.

Either the power delivery was excessive, resulting in the target’s instant death, or the control was too lax, causing wild, uncontrolled mutations.

What infuriated Chai Ye most was Nari’s total failure to internalize these lessons, as it consistently repeated the same mistakes with naive persistence.

"Chai Ye, my lord..." Nari’s thoughts quivered with lament and despair:

"I... I truly do not know how to proceed... Each attempt concludes in failure... Every time..."

"Be silent!" Chai Ye lashed his wings in rage, churning the magma into a massive tsunami:

"I am neither your father nor your keeper; for a creature as exceptionally dim-witted as you, I have no interest in wasting more time!"

Ceasing his training, his massive frame began to ascend as all three pairs of his eyes glowed with a menacing crimson light:

"I am presently preoccupied with preparations for the upcoming succession struggle!"
