Ron skillfully defuses a confrontation with a resentful enchanter named Hillas by proposing a collaborative discussion. Ella explains Hillas's insecurity stems from his family's traditional methods failing to keep pace with the colony's innovative newcomers. Afterward, Ella shows Ron the Contribution Obelisk, a massive crystal structure displaying the accumulated contribution points of all colony members, with the highest scores belonging to Alister and Ella, accumulated over three hundred years.

Ron noticed that beneath the names of the couple, there were more than a dozen names with contribution points exceeding ten thousand.

These should be the core members of the colony.

And in the lower middle part of the obelisk, hundreds of names were densely displayed, with contribution points ranging from several thousand to several hundred.

"Moonlight Level Mages recruited here need to accumulate ten thousand contribution points to obtain a Pioneer Certificate."

Ella’s voice became more solemn:

"According to our statistics, most people need to serve here for at least thirty years to gather that number. The competition... is very intense."

She pointed to a section in the middle of the obelisk, where the names were marked with bright red countdown numbers:

"The red numbers you see indicate their remaining years of service. Every Moonlight Level Mage sets a basic service term when signing the contract."

Ron closely examined those countdowns, feeling a chill in his heart.

[Justin Reeves: Contribution Points 3247

Remaining service years: 19 years 7 months]

[Gale Ross: Contribution Points 5891

Remaining service years: 12 years 3 months]

[Berendir Becker: Contribution Points 2156

Remaining service years: 27 years 8 months]

Behind each name is a mage bound by a long-term contract.

They are precisely quantified by contribution points and service years.

"What are the specific terms of the contract?"

Ron thought about his quarterly settlement negotiations with Vinard and saw these definite contribution points, asking somewhat puzzled.

"Every ten years of work allows for a holiday back in the Main World.

The holiday lasts no more than three months, after which they must return to continue serving."

"Everyone must sign a strict confidentiality agreement, not revealing specifics of the colony, technical details, or strategic plans to outsiders."

At this point, her tone turned extraordinarily cold:

"The penalty for breaching the confidentiality agreement... is scarier than death.

The teacher has a special ’Purging Spell’ that can erase certain memories and extraordinary abilities of violators."

"In the most severe cases, violators may be erased into ordinary people and exiled to a desolate planet to survive on their own."

This kind of cruel punishment filled Ron’s heart with dread.

For a mage, losing professional knowledge and their own magic power is indeed more terrifying than mere death.

It means falling from an extraordinary being to a mortal, losing all the power and status once owned.

"But..."

Ella looked at Ron with a hint of meaning in her eyes:

"Your situation seems somewhat special.

The teacher hasn’t required you to sign any confidentiality agreement or restricted your personal freedom."

The witch’s tone became somewhat relaxed:

"According to the teacher, once you complete the four quarters of coursework in a year, you can choose to return to the Main World.

This treatment is unprecedented in the colony’s history."

"However, the basic costs for the Teleportation Gate still need to be borne by you, and returning to the Main World once requires one hundred complete Magic Stones."

One hundred Magic Stones are not a small number for Moonlight Level Mages, but not an overly heavy burden either.

With Ron’s current savings, he could fully bear this cost.

"Is this price... reasonable?" he asked tentatively.

"It’s already quite a bargain." Ella nodded affirmatively:

"The energy consumption for intergalactic teleportation is extremely massive; one hundred Magic Stones is pretty much a symbolic fee. You can make inquiries; we’re not profiting from it."

"Actually, other Moonlight Level Mages wanting to return need to pay a ’teleportation fee’ of one thousand Magic Stones."

A tenfold price difference.

This comparison made Ron truly realize the special nature of his treatment.

Vinard not only didn’t restrict his freedom but also offered him the most favorable teleportation cost.

Ella shook her head lightly:

"I can only say, the teacher has high expectations of you."

"But at the same time, this special treatment also means greater responsibility and pressure.

If your performance cannot prove that such trust is worthwhile..."

Her meaning was very clear.

Ron silently stared at the names and numbers flickering on the obelisk.

Every rune represents someone’s effort and sacrifice; every number carries immense responsibility.

And he, a newly arrived "outsider," had obtained a special status that others envy.

This privilege is both an opportunity and a challenge.

"You and Alister’s contribution points were long enough to establish a colony independently, right?"

Ron suddenly realized a question:

"Why stay here?"

This question made Ella’s expression gentle and resolute:

"Because this is our home."

She gazed at the top of the obelisk at her and her husband’s names:

"Alister has been following the teacher since he was eighteen; every inch of land here has his sweat and toil."

"And I... here lies the ecosystem I nurtured with my own hands, children I watched grow, and the civilized community we built together."

"We could certainly leave and establish our own colony. But doing so would make us simply solitary rulers, not members of this big family."

How wonderful that these three have essentially formed a small family here...

Looking at the warmth in Ella’s eyes, Ron felt somewhat moved in his heart.

When he builds a colony in the future, who will surround him...

As he was immersed in these thoughts, a new name suddenly appeared on the obelisk:

[Ron Ralph: Contribution Points 0 | Special Consultant]

Unlike others, there were no red countdown numbers next to his name but instead marked in silver as "Special Consultant."

This change immediately caught the attention of the other mages around.

Several Moonlight Level Mages working in the core area shot curious and envious glances.

"It seems the teacher has officially registered you into the system."

Ella said with a smile:

"The ’Special Consultant’ designation is a first in colony history."

Ron could sense the mixture of emotions in the eyes of others.

There was envy, doubt, and a hint of hostility.
