Ron discovers that Vinard's "replica" of the Extraordinary Comprehensive Guide is not a book, but a mirror reflecting his deepest fears. Vinard reveals he traded his "attachment to home" to the King of Absurdity for inspiration on Space Folding, and in return, received the mirror-book. He laments that it still reflects his pain, never offering answers, while Ron's replica is a true book, symbolizing the King of Absurdity's differing approach to their paths.

"I see..." Ron said softly, his tone full of understanding and empathy:

"The King of Absurdity gives everyone what they need the most.

It’s not what we want, but what we need."

Vinard’s mechanical body trembled slightly:

"So, do you understand now? Why I feel... embarrassed and even in pain about your copy?"

"It’s not just jealousy, but a pain of being denied.

The King of Absurdity made His judgment clear by giving you a ’book’ and me a ’mirror’—you are worthy of being taught, while I am only fit to be interrogated.

But while Vinard felt emotionally awkward, rationally he had to admit the wisdom and power of the King of Absurdity.

The fact that Ron could obtain such a vivid and lively copy counterproofs the value of his earlier ’pollution symbiosis’ theory.

At least within the evaluation system of the King of Absurdity, it stands.

"Alright!"

Vinard eagerly shifted the topic, his voice carrying obvious unease:

"There’s no need for us to speculate on the principles of the King of Absurdity’s actions..."

"Speaking of which, you mentioned your Chaos Simulation Device technology earlier, it reminded me of my inept former student—Cedric."

"During my time away from the Main World, I heard he developed a plan called ’cognitive virus’ based on your technology?"

This transition seemed somewhat abrupt, but in the extremely awkward atmosphere at the moment, it was timely like a saving straw.

Ron also tacitly followed this "step" down, no longer probing any sensitive issues about the copy.

"Indeed, regarding the cognitive virus project..."

He reorganized his thoughts and began to elaborate on that disturbing research direction:

"After I left, Cedric pushed the relatively mild virtual experience technology to extreme directions."

"He was no longer content with simple sensory simulations but attempted to create ’virus-like experiences’ capable of completely rewriting target cognitive structures."

As the narrative deepened, Vinard’s mechanical body’s posture gradually leaned forward, showing intense attention.

"According to the intelligence I gathered before leaving, he has conducted multiple human experiments with extremely tragic results."

"Three young researchers, due to excessive indulgence in the false perfect experience, completely collapsed after returning to reality, now becoming useless, repeating specific words only."

"And Cedric himself has begun conducting various pathological ’pain quantification’ experiments on himself, using live dissection to perfect his database."

Vinard’s mechanical eyes flashed with a trace of disgust:

"I knew there was a Demon hidden deep within that guy’s heart..."

"Even more terrifying is Cassandra Tower Master’s attitude."

Ron continued:

"Not only did she not stop Cedric’s insane actions, but she gave him higher permissions and more resources, viewing these tragedies as ’acceptable research costs.’

"Now, the cognitive virus has already begun ’field tests’ on war prisoners, used as a new type of torture tool."

At this point, Ron sighed softly:

"But what I worry most about is not the project’s cruelty itself, but the deeper danger possibly hidden behind it."

"I’ve always had a sense of foreboding."

He took out a yellowed photocopy of a notebook from his Storage Bag:

"When I studied Lance Hewitt’s notes, I discovered that any scholar attempting to penetrate his grand ideas would eventually meet misfortune."

"My concept of peaceful evolution, virtual world technological designs, and Cedric’s ’cognitive virus’ bear a striking resemblance to Lance’s core idea of ’consciousness sharing network.’

He raised his head, staring directly at Vinard’s sensors:

"I fear the project’s loss of control is not accidental, but touches upon a higher-level ’curse’ or ’rules-based rebound.’

This analysis plunged Vinard into deep thought.

A few minutes later, he emitted a cold metallic friction-like laugh:

"I saw it long ago, that Cedric has a beast more terrifying than the Abyssal Demon caged deep within."

"What he needs is not guidance but the strongest shackles."

The mechanical arm waved, making a universally contemptuous gesture:

"Cassandra provided the Key to release the beast but naively thought she could control which direction it bites. Utterly foolish!"

Next, Vinard’s tone carried noticeable schadenfreude:

"Nonetheless, you did well, Ron.

Understanding to withdraw timely under the Abyss’s gaze is wisdom that surpasses most Wizards."

"Just let Cassandra and my mad student cause trouble."

His laughter was as abrasive as metal fragments rubbing together:

"The mess of the fourth quadrant isn’t enough to give her headaches, now she faces a ’cognitive virus’ project ready to lose control at any moment."

"When this thing really spirals into an irreparable disaster, infecting the core members of the Conquest Faction, or leaking to the civilians in the Main World.

Ultimately, it will still require the King of Absurdity to intervene and clean up this mess."

At this point, Vinard’s mechanical body trembled slightly:

"Then I would love to see what kind of brilliant expression the Conquest Faction leader who thinks of himself as controlling everything will show."

But as this malicious pleasure reached its peak, Vinard suddenly stopped laughing.

His sensor array began flashing wildly as if detecting some extremely dangerous signal.

"However..."

His voice became exceptionally solemn:

"I must remind you, if your speculation is correct, if the cognitive virus indeed triggers some kind of taboo..."

"Then the King of Absurdity’s ’correction’ method might not be limited to the project itself.

I may not be too affected in my colony, but if you’re still in the Central Lands at that time, you might get implicated..."
