Ron met the spirit of Savis Antonio, the Chief Astrologer of the Second Era's Royal Academy. Savis explained he was executed for prophesying the mutual destruction of Dragons and Abyssal Creatures. Now a Bone Knight, he is cursed to guide visitors and test them with puzzles to access Elemental Crystals.

Indeed, in the Second Era, the words of the Dragon King were law, accepted as truth even when contradictory."

He sighed:

"You’ve passed the test! Young man, you understand the nature of this world more than I anticipated."

.........

The second puzzle came more philosophically.

Visarion floated among the eternally battling souls, pointing at himself:

"The second question—’the definition of death.’

I have been dead for over ten thousand years, yet I can still think, speak, and remember. So, am I dead or alive?"

This time, Ron activated his newly acquired "spiritual perception" ability, carefully observing Visarion’s state of existence.

In spiritual vision, he saw a deeper truth.

Visarion’s soul was not complete but made up of countless fragments, each cycling in a different time dimension.

Some fragments remained at the moment of his death, while others continually relived memories from before his passing.

"In the material realm, you are indeed deceased, your body returning to dust."

Ron slowly spoke:

"But in the Spirit Realm, you still exist, only the form of existence has changed.

Death is not an end, but a transformation—from material existence into spiritual existence, from linear time into cyclical time."

"You are both dead, having lost your physical body and linear life;

and alive, retaining consciousness and memory. The boundary between life and death in the Spirit Realm is not as absolute as in the material realm."

Visarion’s spiritual body began to tremble violently, if he could cry, tears would surely be flowing now.

"Finally... finally, someone understands!"

His voice trembled:

"Three thousand years! For three thousand years, I have been pondering this question!

Those passing Wizards either said I was dead or called me an illusion; never has anyone truly understood my state of existence!"

He floated around excitedly, nearly passing through several dragon bones:

"You are right! Completely correct! I am an existence between life and death, an intermediate state of matter and spirit!"

.........

The third puzzle was the most profound.

Visarion brought Ron to the center of the corridor, the area of the fiercest battles.

The phantoms repeated every move, every expression from previous cycles with terrifying precision.

"The third question—’the nature of time.’"

Visarion’s tone grew somber:

"Look at them, repeating the same battle every day, with the same moves and the same results.

Does time exist for them? If so, what form does it take?"

Ron activated the "Eye of Observation," a power derived from the Observer Star enabling him to directly perceive the state of time’s flow.

Time, normally flowing seamlessly to others, revealed a complex shape in his view.

The entire Wailing Corridor was enveloped in a giant time bubble, with time inside twisted and cycling like a Mobius loop.

More marvelously, he saw two time flows simultaneously exist:

The battling souls’ time was a closed loop, endlessly cycling, with no distinction between past and future;

while he and Visarion existed in an ascending spiral.

Though somewhat repetitive, each cycle contained subtle changes.

"Time for them is a cyclical circle, with every moment endlessly repeating."

Ron pointed at the battling souls:

"For us, it’s a progressing line, or more accurately, a spiral. Both perceptions of time are real, but exist in different dimensions."

"Just like a three-dimensional being viewing a two-dimensional plane, our linear time encompasses their cyclical time, but their cycle is complete from their perspective.

Time is not a singular river, but an ocean formed by countless tributaries."

"Both perceptions of time are real, but exist in different dimensions.

Just like a circle, which appears round from the front, and as a line from the side: the same object presents different shapes from different viewpoints."

"Their actions might seem meaningless, but it is this repetition that maintains the stable existence of the entire Wailing Corridor.

Without their ’cycle,’ this place would have long collapsed."

"Thus, their battle is both a curse and a guardianship."

Savis, after listening to the response, fell into deep silence.

After a long time, he slowly spoke, with a tone steeped in an emotion that hadn’t been felt in two eras:

"A genius... a true genius..."

"Child, you not only understand the nature of time but also grasp the significance of the existence here."

"For so many years, I’ve always believed those endlessly battling souls were cursed victims.

But you’ve made me realize, they are indeed the Guardians here, the cornerstone of maintaining the stability of the Wailing Corridor."

Savis floated to Ron, solemnly performing a Wizard’s salute again:

"Young Sage, you have passed my three trials of wisdom."

"Now, please follow me. I want to show you the most precious collection here."
