Wizard: Stronger through Marriage Chapter 1253 - 582: Chaos Core
Previously on Wizard: Stronger through Marriage...
Above the altar, the crimson vortex kept expanding, threads of scarlet as fine as hairs stretching out like tentacles in all directions; every time they brushed ground or air, a dreadful shudder was born, sending the dust of the ruins and the rotting Demon carcasses scattering and rising, billowing into thick, veiling smoke.
In the distance, those Native Magical Beasts on the verge of death also quivered in faint resonance; they trembled with their colossal bodies as if trying to tear free from the shackles of fate, yet appeared pitifully fragile and disordered, as though they might shatter to pieces at any moment and vanish into the long river of history!
David’s gaze was razor-sharp as he fixed on the center of the vortex; he could feel that what dwelled there was not merely all the residual power of the Demon race’s final authority, but a torrent of evil that swept heaven and earth, a flood of force that even the Laws of the Multiverse could scarcely withstand.
And now, because the external key of the Pseudo-Divine Format had been activated, this torrent had begun to show signs of disruption, even fracture. The Duke struggled and writhed in agony, trying to seize control, yet the balance was already broken and inevitably sliding into a deeper crisis...
His breathing grew more hurried, the look in his eyes ever more resolute: "This is the only chance. I must seize this aberration to deliver a fatal blow to the ’last Blood Demon Core’!"
In that very instant, the persona remnant that had risen from his Sea of Consciousness, after resonating with the dark core, formed a blazing yet chaotic miniature spatial spiral-pit, drawing in vast quantities of forbidden Runes and the Natural Law’s rhythms.
This space was like a container of storage, endlessly devouring the onrushing evil Energy, while at the same time extracting and refining it into pure, lucid new Origin Power, presenting David with a battle capital of immeasurable value!
Yet this situation also brought a lethal risk—
As the various imprints and Runes within his body were forcibly dragged toward the outer edge of the vortex and its points of linkage, his own consciousness was undergoing violent upheaval, like a small boat staggering on the verge of capsizing under a storm of Gale and rain; if not for the support of his unwavering faith, he might already have fallen into an eternal labyrinth of loss...
The crimson Chaos vortex churned above the altar, like a vast cauldron that devoured heaven and earth, tearing the order of the surrounding space into countless shards.
The air was saturated with an indescribable oppression, a kind of extreme Energy fluctuation poised between death and rebirth.
David was tightly wrapped by the dragging Chaos Power, his body slowly emerging at the vortex’s center where light and darkness intertwined.
All at once, his entire body burst forth with a resplendent and intricate radiance—
Three utterly different, yet interwoven and resonant hues merged upon the surface of his form: the red of the Sea of Blood, deep as an angry tide; the blue of the vast sea, limpid as the Abyss; and the green of nature, teeming with vitality and carrying an untamed ferocity.
These three lights were not a simple overlay; they collided, fused, and underwent fission, tumbling and leaping like a mass of living Flame that burned, was burned away, and then reshaped into new life.
David’s eyes were tightly shut; he felt the Origin fragments within him—once independent, mutually incompatible, even mutually repulsive—the lingering remnant Soul of the Blood Demon, the Sea God’s imprint and Abyssal whispers, the four Elemental Affinity currents of wind, fire, water, and earth, and the hidden Runes of the Natural Law—all at this moment hurled into a supreme "blood-prison core furnace."
This furnace seemed to possess the grasp of a giant hand that devoured the order of all things and the polarities of Chaos alike, turning chaos and shards into blazing fire; under ultimate temperature and extreme pressure, it hammered them again and again, shattering and recombining.
Each tremor in the depths of his Soul brought a ferocity of pain so intense it was almost like life itself streaming away.
He could almost feel those broken, shattered Origin fragments settling like dust, only to be awakened and reforged in the next instant, their form and texture undergoing a transformation never before seen.
It was a subversion of the known Laws, a new birth gestated from annihilation, a colossal stride that would lift him from the mortal to the half-divine level of existence!
At the heart of the vortex, the dark core that had once belonged to the Demon Duke’s "last Blood Demon Core" was completely disrupted by this power, its wicked patterns beginning to twist and unravel. The Duke tried madly to retake control of the core, but when his corroded hands touched the edge that was gradually reflecting the three-colored radiance, it was as if he had grasped a blade.
In an instant, his warped, corroded body exploded with a deafening sound of collapse, scattering in all directions like dust ravaged by a Gale.
The unwilling fury flashing in his eyes swiftly dissolved into despair and breakdown; then his whole humanoid form seemed to be ground into a skyful of powder, countless tiny fragments of consciousness dragged by the terrible suction into the vortex’s center, where they perished utterly within that searing and intricate new Divine Format prototype.
This was a fall without remainder, and also a grudging sacrifice to mark the end of an arrogant false deity’s own destiny.
He had once believed he could control everything, could ride upon myriad Laws, yet in the end he was reduced to an unavoidable portion of the nourishment for the new Divine Format’s growth, his delusional ambition becoming a cornerstone the Creator used to smelt new life!
In his ragged breathing, David felt the terrifying changes within his body—those powers that had once clashed and even entangled him in Curse were beginning to merge and interconnect; every stream of Energy was accompanied by a new heartbeat, thick and full of vigor.
The cells across his whole body seemed to undergo remolding; every single molecule shone with unprecedented toughness and agility.
His consciousness, too, was like a tide in this violent fusion, crashing again and again against the boundaries, beset with dangers yet brimming with miracles.
Amid the interweaving of agony and awakening, he gradually broke through his former mental limits, expanding what had once been bound to a single level or world’s rules into a cross-boundary fusion state, making full preparation for the higher-tier foes he was about to face.
The three-colored radiance was not a mere illusion; it truly constructed a new core prototype containing the patterning of Chaos and order, formed from tangled yet tightly conjoined irregular Runes.
