Levi drew Frostmourne from its sheath. His entire frame shuddered with a surge of strength that he funneled directly into the blade.
The sword hummed and vibrated with power, whistling as it tore through the empty air.
Clang!
Clang!
A chilling, elegant light flashed through the shadows. In an instant, a standard wooden training post was sliced into four clean sections.

He pivoted, choosing a massive boulder as his next mark while maintaining the same level of force.
This time, however, the edge only bit an inch deep into the stone, leaving the weapon firmly wedged inside.
With a grunt of exertion, Levi wrenched the blade free and returned it to its scabbard.
"I can easily cleave through common wood now that I've reached the intermediate stage. I might reach Knight Fred’s level of mastery at the next rank. As for Ripple..."
Advancing from the first level to the second hadn't been overly time-consuming, as it only required 1,000 experience points.
The jump from the second to the third level, however, presented a much steeper climb in difficulty.
Levi found himself at a temporary standstill. He estimated that breaking through this current bottleneck would take at least another six months.
He felt no sense of urgency. Having mastered the intermediate vibration effect, he felt his strength growing, yet he lacked practical application. He decided it was time to seek out real combat experience.
A genuine fight was necessary.
Levi looked toward the rear mountains to find an opponent. He already had the ideal training partners in mind.
The Montenegro province earned its name from these vast, dark forests that never withered, providing cover for countless predatory beasts within the snowy thickets.
Blackwater Valley sat right at the foot of one of the Montenegro mountain branches.
While few monsters roamed the outskirts, the mountain wolf was a common sight, usually hunting in small packs of three to five.
Based on his previous archery practice, Levi knew that real-world application yielded more proficiency. Thus, the mountain wolf was a perfect target.
These natural predators stood over a meter tall, dwarfing the wolves from his past life.
Their skeletons were denser and their temperaments far more vicious—an evolutionary necessity for surviving among the many powerful creatures of the Montenegro Mountains.
The Giant Northern Bear possessed strength comparable to a Knight, while others, such as the Armoured Mammoth or the Silver Lion, could rival a Great Knight.
Naturally, Levi wasn't looking to challenge those yet.
He was searching for a lone wolf or a small pack at most.
With Knight Fred’s subordinates keeping a close watch, his safety was largely guaranteed.
Furthermore, the high-level monsters rarely left the heart of the forest, making a chance encounter highly improbable.
A large snow deer—a typical herbivore of the region—wandered through the mountain passes. Levi frequently hunted them to sharpen his marksmanship.
They provided excellent meat and were quite a delicacy.
Knight Fred, a veteran hunter himself, remained nearby to oversee the area and ensure Levi's protection.
Levi stood roughly 80 meters away from the deer, well within his bow's 120-meter effective range.
Whoosh.
The arrow struck true, piercing the deer's skull and ending its life instantly.
"I'll use the carcass as bait. Mountain wolves have a keen sense of smell; it won't take long for them to arrive," Levi muttered to himself.
"Knight Fred, let's head up into the trees."
Levi settled onto a sturdy branch, patiently waiting for his targets.
The minutes ticked by slowly.
Before long, the eerie sound of a wolf's howl echoed from the nearby woods.
Almost immediately, several other howls rose up in response.
Four of them.
"Do you require my assistance?" Knight Fred inquired.
Levi shook his head. "Just watch my back."
Soon, four mountain wolves, each as large as a young calf, emerged into the clearing, warily sniffing the air.
Fortunately, both Fred and Levi were skilled in the hunt and had long since masked their scent using the environment.
The pack converged on the deer's body. The largest of the group, the alpha, began to tear into the belly.
The leader always ate first.
A rope dropped from the canopy, and Levi descended, hitting the ground with a heavy thud that rattled the area.
Boom!
The deep snow absorbed the impact, allowing him to land perfectly.
The mountain wolves reacted instantly, baring their teeth and growling a fierce warning for him to retreat.
Levi didn't move an inch.
At the alpha's signal, the wolves lunged forward, snarling as they pounced toward Levi.
They moved with incredible agility—fast enough that even veteran hunters would usually scramble up trees to escape them.
However, one wolf didn't even see the strike coming before it was hewn into four pieces. Its organs spilled across the ground, staining the white snow a deep crimson.

As he suspected, the proficiency gains from actual combat were significantly higher.
The alpha stared at Levi in pure terror. Realizing it was outmatched, it turned to flee.
"Not a chance," Levi scoffed.
His boots crunched through the heavy snow as he gave chase.
Despite the weight of his armor, his rigorous training made it feel light as a feather. He rapidly closed the gap, and in a blur of steel, another wolf was expertly dismembered.
