Previously on Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method...
"Yes, I shall live and die alongside the Nightmare. Do you not comprehend? The Nightmare Will may perish, but the Nightmare World has already become an integral part of this very universe.
It’s merely a matter of exchanging one master for another.
I remain one of the Nightmare People!"
The Archdevil of Hell, upon hearing these words, was so enraged that he vomited blood.
"You… you have betrayed the Supreme Will?!"
The Ignorant Monarch saw no point in further argument, stirring the colossal greatsword embedded within the Archdevil of Hell’s body.
"Farewell. From this day forward, the era of the Four Emperors has officially concluded."
With a thunderous roar, a colossal red dragon descended from the heavens, its menacing claws extended.
A single dragon claw slammed down upon the Archdevil of Hell, and an all-consuming dragon breath erupted forth!
A period equivalent to the time it takes an incense stick to burn passed, and the Archdevil of Hell could no longer draw breath.Dragon Flames blazed a void passage that stretched for millions of miles, wreathed in shimmering waves of heat.
Leon materialized on horseback, seizing the true soul of the vanquished Archdevil of Hell.
"Ignorant fool! You were destined for a miserable death!"
The true soul continued its string of curses, but Leon delivered a thorough beating before proceeding to seal it away.
A magnificent Death Crystal ascended and hovered in the sky.
Levi gathered the remains and spoils from the fallen Archdevil of Hell.
The Ignorant Monarch knelt upon the ground, head bowed low.
"Hail, Emperor!"
Levi convened the Supreme Council's round table, compelling the Ignorant Monarch to reaffirm his allegiance.
The Ignorant Monarch hesitated for a brief moment before ultimately pledging a solemn oath of life and death.
Levi offered words of praise:
"Not bad. Although you are known as the Ignorant, your foresight is considerable."
The Ignorant Monarch responded:
"The times have indeed changed; certain archaic customs must inevitably be discarded."
Levi stated:
"Continue your efforts. Should you succeed in bringing more monarchs to surrender, it shall be considered a means of atonement. When the Nightmare World ushers in new heavens, you will be credited accordingly."
The Ignorant Monarch replied:
"Very well, I shall endeavor to the best of my ability."
Levi observed the departing Ignorant Monarch, his thoughts drifting into deep contemplation.
"This conflict has exacted a significant toll on Nora as well. If we can recuperate some of those losses through the Nightmare Monarchs, it would be most beneficial. Even if a trace of rebellious intent lingers, as long as they can be utilized against the Abyss, it poses no issue… I shall simply refrain from entrusting them with critical responsibilities."
These monarchs are classified as external operatives.
They shall not be permitted to partake in Nora’s Supreme Council until such a time as the Nightmare Will is completely eradicated.
They are, in essence, slaves, mere tools.
Henceforth, among the ranks of the Nightmare's Four Emperors, three have met their demise, and one has submitted.
This news propagated with astonishing speed across the entirety of the battlefield, leaving all who heard it in a state of shock.
"Hahaha, all Four Emperors are eliminated!"
"The Nightmare poses no threat to us!"
"The hour for our counteroffensive has arrived; everyone, hold the line!"
On the beleaguered battlefield, the morale of Nora and the Underworld’s formidable forces soared.
...
"Damn Ignorant, you treacherous dog! You actually betrayed the Nightmare!"
The Master of Horror was consumed by extreme fury, his very mind profoundly shaken.
Casting his gaze around, he observed that Nightmare’s casualties among its level-10 powerhouses had already reached nearly one hundred and twenty.
With the absence of the Four Emperors and the demise of several top-tier powerhouses, the situation looked dire.
Conversely, the opposing forces’ onslaught intensified with each passing moment.
Morale, truly, is an indispensable element of warfare!
The Netherworld Ancestor seized the moment, offering a sneering remark:
"The end of Nightmare is nigh."
The scales of victory in the ongoing war had decisively tipped in favor of Nora; barring the intervention of another colossal entity, none could possibly alter this outcome.
However, the Abyss had yet to make its appearance.
The astral world had endured insect plagues on two separate occasions.
Other fiends and demons proved insufficient to effect any significant change.
The Netherworld Ancestor proclaimed loudly:
"People of Nightmare, those who lay down their arms and surrender now will be granted the opportunity to continue living within the Nightmare World… Otherwise, you face utter annihilation, with no hope of reincarnation!"
These words reverberated across the entire battlefield.
Countless Nightmare Creatures, previously besieged, received this proclamation.
The Master of Horror bellowed in rage:
"Who dares to surrender? I shall be the first to strike them down!"
The Netherworld Ancestor retorted:
"Pass my trial first, then you may speak!"
Simultaneously.
The Chaos Emperor, clad in resplendent white wizard robes and adorned with a crown, dramatically altered the very fabric of Heaven and Earth.
His majestic voice echoed forth:
"Surrender willingly, resist strictly!"
These numerous Nightmare Creatures undoubtedly represented the most effective expendable forces. If captured, they could be leveraged immensely against the Abyss, thereby significantly mitigating civilizational losses.
The Master of Horror declared:
"Nightmare shall not know defeat! We are the primordial beings destined for eternal existence! We contend with the astral world, we shatter the shadows; the Nightmare will never perish!"
A palpable sense of panic permeated the air; even the Four Emperors had yielded.
Other mid to lower-tier entities were bound to surrender in even greater numbers. Furthermore, Nightmare had callously sacrificed one-third of its own creatures not long ago.
This action was certain to have a detrimental impact on their morale.
"I surrender, I surrender!"
The Sloth Demon Lord materialized as if from nowhere, hastily proclaiming his capitulation.
Having sought refuge to escape conflict, it was nonetheless discovered by Charactus, who pursued it across a cosmic expanse. Indeed, it seemed the path to salvation was blocked, with no escape from damnation. Returning to the Nightmare would mean confronting the peculiarity of Fingal. With no other recourse, it found itself once more on the Nora Battlefield. Charactus paused, his thoughts crystal clear. The Shadow World had long endured the oppression of Nightmare colonists. Today, however, the tables had turned, offering a fierce release of pent-up vengeance. "Good, you possess keen insight." Levi compelled the Sloth Demon Lord to pledge an oath. The Sloth Demon Lord could finally exhale in relief. "In truth, I harbored no desire for war... I was compelled into it." After professing its allegiance, it joined the Ignorant Monarch in convincing the others to yield. Thus, among the Seven Demon Lords, six met their demise, while one submitted. The Nightmare Four Emperors and the Seven Sins Demon Lords, as the paramount powerhouses of Nightmare, had once commanded absolute authority, shaping epochs in the absence of a Supreme being. Yet, all of that had now faded into the past. This day would undoubtedly be etched into the annals of history! With the highest echelons surrendering, a precedent was set. Subsequently, the Nightmare Creatures capitulated in droves. This included Nightmare Overlords and even Monarchs. The Master of Horror erupted in fury. "Inconceivable! Utterly beyond belief!" It cast its gaze towards conflicts unfolding in higher dimensions. "Supreme Will, I implore your judgment!" At this juncture, to persist in the struggle would undoubtedly result in certain defeat. In its estimation, a temporary strategic retreat would be the wiser course of action.
