Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method Chapter 3101: 637: Daughter of Sauron
Previously on Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method...
For a considerable duration, Hera had lingered before the Supreme Gate.
Yet, she had never dared to cross its threshold. Inquiries made to Emmon and Levi had yielded knowledge of the profound price for achieving the Supreme, and she was acutely aware of the inherent dangers.
However, a profound sense washed over her; the moment had finally arrived.
The artifact known as the [Death Throne], for an extensive period, held a status just shy of the Dark Ancient Tower, ranking among the premier treasures. This placed Hera's standing within the Pan-Plane second only to the Fire Sovereign.
Among the components utilized in the creation of this magnificent treasure, one item held particular significance.
This was the [Death Shedding].
It is a primordial relic of considerable importance, once held by a being who also commanded dominion over death, though to a lesser extent than the Underworld Source River. This primordial spirit bore the name [Dawn and Dusk Worm].
In comparison to many other original life forms—
Its existence was lamentably brief, lasting a mere half-day, from its initial state to its final moments succumbing to demise.
Its entire lifespan mirrored that of a mayfly: emerging with the dawn and perishing by dusk, an existence of infinitesimal brevity.
It is through profound proximity to death alone that the true essence of life can be comprehended. It was with the aid of this relic that Sauron, through the art of forging, brought forth the [Death Throne], a treasure of the highest caliber.
And this treasure, he bestowed upon Hera.
His daughter, and the daughter of the Netherworld Ancestor.
Or perhaps, more accurately, an illegitimate child.
The Underworld, in its esteemed, reclusive nature, maintains an absolute neutrality. It is strictly forbidden for them to procreate and generate crystals with the ancestor of wizards, as such an act would signal hostile intent to the other great powers.
The convergence of the Wizard World and the Underworld would undoubtedly be perceived as a bid for ultimate control.
Consequently, to this very day, apart from Sauron, the Netherworld Ancestor, Mother River, and Hera herself, no one comprehends the genuine identity of the celebrated Death Throne.
Naturally, despite Hera being Sauron's daughter—
She harbored very little affection for her father.
After all, she had never encountered Sauron.
By the time of her birth, Sauron had already met his end.
The Netherworld Ancestor, with quiet resolve, sent her away from the Pan-Plane to mature in solitude.
By the time Hera gained renown, she had already ascended to the status of a top-tier powerhouse. Hera's meteoric rise was solely attributable to the potent influence of the Death Throne, a legacy bestowed upon her by her parents.
The Death Shedding, without question, was a gift from Mother River.
Such an invaluable Supreme item is exceptionally rare.
As the veritable River of Death, the Underworld had amassed a vast collection of primordial death-related relics throughout the ages. Many were incorporated into the Netherworld Ancestor Hall, while others were designated as Netherworld Artifacts for formidable Nether Emperors. In a peculiar sense, Hera also held the status of a Nether Emperor, albeit one existing outside the established hierarchy.
Following the public alliance between the Underworld and Nora—
The Netherworld Ancestor extended an invitation to Hera to formally join the Underworld.
However, Hera declined.
She was a warrior of the highest caliber, yet also an orphaned wanderer, devoid of parental guidance. Her concerns were solely focused on her personal pursuits, holding no emotional attachment to Sauron or the Netherworld Ancestor.
Affection is a natural consequence of shared experiences.
She established the Void Holy Temple, creating a distinct duality within the Pan-Plane that stood in contrast to wizard civilization.
Ultimately, however, the methods employed by her parents had placed her significantly behind Nora's current standing. She was unwilling to be subjugated; she would form an alliance, but not merge her identity.
Perhaps, deep within her heart—
She still bore the resentment of a young girl sulking at her parents.
Her driving desire was to become powerful, to prove her own worth.
Buzz! A surge of dense Qi erupted with the brilliance of a newborn sun, causing the universe to tremble anew; in the span of a single day, two Supremes emerged.
The Land of Darkness was plunged into utter astonishment...
Where once the emergence of a single Supreme per epoch was considered a profound miracle—
Now, five individuals could barely be contained within this era.
The ascension to the Supreme realm does not necessitate undergoing a Tribulation.
The Supreme realm itself constitutes the tribulation, or perhaps, a curse.
It is widely understood: those who attain the Supreme realm rarely meet a favorable end.
A Supreme being must confront two formidable tribulations.
The first emanates from the vested interests of other powerful entities known as Giants—the Supreme Wills.
"How can one permit others to slumber peacefully on the same couch?"
They adamantly refuse to allow the birth of Supremes who pose a threat to their own established positions.
The Origin Divine Tree, the Double Dragons, the Frost Giant Ancestor, Ultimate Creation, Sauron... regardless of their brilliant ascent, all have faded into silence, their existences as ephemeral as shooting stars. The Mother of Darkness need not personally intervene; she possesses the ability to extinguish any Supreme she cannot control.
The second tribulation manifests after one has attained Supreme status—
The Supreme Realm, an ineffable state.
Life forms transcend conventional existence, gradually transforming into pure embodiments of rules. It is akin to reverting to the origins of primordial spirits.
They cease to be distinctly defined life forms.
Emotions, desires, anger, joy, sorrow, cherished connections, cherished memories... the myriad aspects of the world lose their significance, becoming akin to a dormant program.
Existing within the world, they merely proceed, step by deliberate step. The frequent application of Supreme Power accelerates this process; only prolonged periods of slumber can serve to delay its progression.
Otherwise, one risks becoming utterly lost.
Their very personality vanishes, analogous to the fading of the Sun, Moon, and Stars.
This specific tribulation renders a Supreme being less autonomous than even a being of level-10.
This represents the most critical reason for Hera's profound hesitation at this pivotal juncture.
These two tribulations are sufficiently potent to obstruct ninety-nine percent of aspiring Supremes who are not among the established Giants. Throughout the vast expanse of time, with the exception of a few who persist against the odds, hardly any Supreme beings endure in the world.
High above—
The Netherworld Ancestor, engaged in a fierce battle with the Master of Horror, displayed an unprecedented flicker of emotion upon her visage for the very first time.
"Hera is on the verge of advancing?"
A storm of emotions raged within her.
Up until this moment, she had never truly accepted Hera as her daughter.
Hera, in return, had always met her with quietude.
For reasons she couldn't pinpoint, an inexplicable melancholy began to spread through her heart.
The Master of Horror perceived the shift in the Netherworld Ancestor's state and intensified his relentless onslaught.
"Heh, everyone yearns to ascend to the Supreme realm, do they? Utter folly."
He began to self-immolate, his attacks infused with a desperate ferocity.
Witnessing this, the Netherworld Ancestor refused to yield ground.
At this juncture, retreat was no longer an option.
Only the path forward! Forward! Ever forward!
The Underworld Source River and the Nightmare Will were also stirred by the unfolding events.
The battlefield dynamics had taken a turn beyond anyone's predictions.
This internal conflict was rife with unforeseen contingencies.
For Mother River, securing the Nightmare Will would signify a triumphant outcome.
Meanwhile, on another front—
Emmon, exerting every ounce of effort to contain the encroaching Disaster World, also directed his gaze toward that solitary figure.
"She too is destined for the Supreme realm?"
Emmon had harbored the belief that Hera would forgo the pursuit of Supreme.
