Nora became a colossal dim yellow sphere shielded by the Mother River against surging red-black flesh tentacles from the Nightmare Will. The Supreme clash triggered Nora's self-defense mechanism, aided by Sauron Will, as legendary wizards mended the crystal wall with Heaven Mending Skill. In the Nightmare World, Levi withstood a Nightmare strike using his Universal Hand, reflecting on the gap to Supremes while anticipating a short assault due to external pressures.

Levi said:

"That’s right. By having the Underworld step in, we’re telling Nightmare—don’t expect to use Supreme Will to oppress us. Nora stands bare to all, with no retreat; we’re fighting with our backs to the wall. If we’re willing to drag this out, is Nightmare Will brave enough to do the same?"

Emmon said:

"I’ll head back first; you should return to reality soon, too."

Emmon breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Levi completely unharmed.

United, Levi and he could confront the Master of Horror head-on. With the Netherworld Ancestor added, alongside the united forces of Nora and the Underworld, their strength overwhelmingly surpassed Nightmare.

The Abyss and the astral world remained the sole unknowns. However, the epic war had already blazed for quite some time, and neither showed signs of jumping in—which exposed their true intentions.

They would either quietly permit Nora to rise as the Fifth Pole,

or bide their time for Nora and Nightmare to annihilate one another.

In any case, during this initial vague phase of the war,

no faction would rashly meddle, nor link up with Nightmare.

Indeed, had the succubus queen not betrayed Nightmare right from the start, demolishing their shaky alliance, Nightmare could have genuinely teamed up with the Abyss.

Yet now, short of total desperation,

Nightmare preferred battling solo over joining the Abyss.

...

Three days later.

Blood and Flesh Palace.

The Master of Horror, the Three Emperors, and three hundred Level 10 Strongmen were stationed here, standing vigilant.

"Damn it, the Underworld is ruining our grand designs."

"Exactly. For a true Giant to collaborate with mere mortal rookies—what an utter disgrace!"

"Are we, the mighty Nightmare, really about to fall?"

"Worried Sky Monarch, shut your crow mouth!"

"Agreed, every time you mouth off like this, disaster follows!"

Nightmare had always lacked true unity; Vassal Kings each commanded their territories, creating disorder barely less chaotic than the Abyss. At present, pandemonium reigned supreme.

The Master of Horror declared coldly:

"Silence—all of you. Guard this place well. The Blood and Flesh Palace is where the Supreme Will resides—it’s the very foundation of Nightmare. We must not lose it under any circumstances!"

...

Meanwhile,

Netherworld Ancestor Hall.

The swordswoman in a Grey Robe gripped her sword, standing ever vigilant.

The Nether Emperors arrayed in formations, fortifying the temple level upon level.

The masses knew nothing: the Netherworld Ancestor Hall's site was no coincidence. It perched directly over the River of Death's birthplace—at the Death Spring.

The pool in which the Netherworld Ancestor frequently bathed was the origin point—endless Death Energy poured forth here, giving rise to the Underworld Source River.

Now, the Mother River collided fiercely with Nightmare Will.

Deep anxiety gripped them too, lest the Abyss or astral world launch a surprise attack amid their distraction.

Such was the Dark Universe: hidden agendas festered in every heart.

Thus, when Sauron came to the Underworld, the two sides forged a binding pact.

At the least, until the other three Giants perished, the Underworld and Nora pledged no betrayal—they preserved their core trust and partnership.

Once the scheme triumphed, even in success, they aimed to keep cooperating, dodging clashes. By redirecting their rivalries outward—into conflicts spanning the endless Multi-Universe—they curbed internal cosmic strife.

Nora and the Underworld guarded each other's backs.

Only through mutual vigilance and support could they shatter the encirclement!

...

Abyss.

Floor 666.

A somber look etched the Chaotic Servant’s face.

"The Mother River dares clash with Nightmare Will to shield Nora. The Underworld is fully committed to defending her. Their lust for universal dominion shines clear. Curse them.

With things as they stand, let the foes keep clashing. I’ll notify the Abyss Will—once both Wills weaken from the fray, we merely need to ravenously Devour one. Then Supreme Will shall Surge in might, rivaling or eclipsing the Star Ancestor, claiming the Universe’s top throne. It might even shatter Multi-Universe chains to emerge as a Supreme Existence."

This marked a rare epochal chance.

The Abyss had to grasp it!

...

astral world.

Three imposing figures loomed high above the Sea of Ruins.

The mother nest’s will, akin to a womb and Hive, lay severed and marooned on a solitary isle.

The Star Ancestor himself had Sealed its links and Perception to the insect horde, blocking its total Strength. The formerly unstoppable bugs now faced relentless retreat.

Lord of Storm briefed the Star Ancestor on the Lower Realm’s affairs.

A faint smile graced the Star Ancestor as he spoke:

"The Underworld finally drops its mask—their aim is clearly to use Nora as a means to seize overlordship of the Universe, to challenge our astral world’s supremacy.

Otherwise, why would the Mother River have gotten involved? From years of clashing with her both openly and covertly, I know full well those people never act without some profit to gain."

The Lord of Storm, somewhat irritated, said:

"So, Star Ancestor, what’s our next step? Do we send a legion to quietly surround Nora and strike when both sides are exhausted?"

The Star Ancestor replied indifferently:

"The battle has barely started—what’s the hurry? The Underworld and Nora must have spies embedded in the astral world. If we dispatch our Gods, how could we hide it from them? Plus, without a Supreme Being, even you couldn’t claim victory over either side.

As I’ve stated before: no major military operations until I crush the insect threat. Next to the insects, neither Nora nor the Underworld poses a real danger."

Over these millennia, the insects have inflicted devastating losses on the astral world.

Their evolution and swarming prowess outstrip any Giant by far.

At present, the astral world has amassed a hoard of slain Insect Queens.

The scheme is to refine them—and if we uncover even a fragment of the insects’ mysteries, armed with the astral world’s strength, overpowering the other three ancient enemies will prove effortless.

...

Supreme Wills collided, flashing into existence and vanishing in an instant.

Above Nora,

Crimson and ebony tentacles dissolved, pulling back into the domain of blood and shadow. That endless, sinister, and malign Supreme Intent surged through the starry void, boldly revealing its bitterness.

Blood and Flesh Palace.

A massive crimson spirit shot into the palace and vanished from view.

"Mother River!!"

The whole Nightmare World quaked beneath its fury.

The Master of Horror and the group of Level 10 powerhouses shuddered in dread, anxiety clawing at their minds.

"W-what... is happening?"
