Mana guided the Cherry Blossom Beast right up to Levi.
"Fine, then head inside and rescue it."
Levi felt quite pleased at that moment. Should he succeed in drawing in this Divine Tree Power from a level-10 creature, wouldn't Mana climb to at least Level 8 Late Stage? Her advancement pace afterward could then keep up steadily, allowing her to hit Level 9 that much faster.
Next up would be breaking through the Golden Sacred Realm barrier, pushing Mana toward level-10 to match Lady Pandora side by side. Regarding the path to Level 11, Levi remained uncertain. For the Divine Tree, hitting level-10 would more than suffice.
He couldn't even guarantee he'd survive long enough to witness Mana achieving Level 11.
...
Days slipped by one after another.
Before long, the ancient tower's closure arrived once more.
Jin's efforts in the latter part proved solid, as he gathered 60 Truth Oddities for Levi, none reaching Glorious Sun-Grade and thus falling short of the Hound's gains.
During the entire trip, Ritter stayed by Levi's side, sharing insights and lore from the Beast Taming civilization to gear up for the road ahead. Noticing Ritter nearing Level 9, Levi inquired about the requirements for his next step up.
Ritter explained that to become a Legendary Beastmaster, two key tasks awaited him:
The first involved maxing out the Purple Lightning Heart Ape's potential. Right now, he hunted for a vital component in a Legendary Beast Taming potion known as "Nine-leaf Red." Armed with that, one could brew the potion dubbed "Nara’s Heart," boosting the beast's tribulation odds and speeding its growth.
The second demanded locating a Level 9 herb named "Unity Grass." It served as the core element for crafting a promotion elixir called "Life Wheel Water." Such a brew would aid in unlocking the third contract slot.
"Unity Grass" sprouted solely in the "Mountain and Sea Secret Realm," whereas "Nine-leaf Red" counted as a fresh find from recent times with scarce availability. Thanks to its knack for snaring transcendent beings, authorities kept it under tight control.
That forced him to hop between planes in search of it, only to end up snared by the ancient tower.
"Is this the Nine-leaf Red you're after?"
Levi pulled out a sprig of Nine-leaf Blood Datura, releasing a distinctive aroma, as the Purple Lightning Heart Ape displayed wild delight and Ritter's gaze lit up:
"That's it exactly."
"Here, take it."
"Master, are you sure this is for me?"
"Of course, just keep up the good work—I've got loads more of this."
"My deepest thanks, Master!"
Nine-leaf Blood Datura now grew abundantly across Nora. For starters, it helped lure and snag Black Beasts for cleansing; additionally, Lady Rowling found it perfect for brewing elixirs that boosted transcendent creatures' progress, fueling the School of Spiritualism's rise.
With sufficient demand to fuel it, the Nora Council's mighty resources could cultivate even the scarcest flora on request.
En route, Levi browsed the "All Beast Atlas."
"Got anything on the Winter Extreme Snow Ape?"
"Sure do—among the 24 Heavenly Kings, the Extreme Cold King's second life beast is the Winter Extreme Snow Ape, his go-to tamed creature."
"What about a massive ape from the Metal Faction?"
"No word on that."
Levi had figured he'd rounded up the Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water apes already. Yet with the Purple Lightning Heart Ape joining the fold, his collector's itch flared, urging him to snag all seven elements.
Plus, after wiping out that Level 9 Amethyst Race member, Levi had gleaned from its recollections tales of a fabled giant ape known as the "Hidden Ghost Ape."
"Squeak, squeak, squeak."
While traveling, Jin scampered over to Levi. They had entered a blistering desert where heat soared unnaturally, warping the very air.
"The treasure's in this spot?"
"Squeak, squeak, squeak."
"Got it, show me the path!"
After traversing the desert, a vast Sea of Fire stretched out endlessly, covering thousands of miles. Its outskirts burned at level-6 intensity, while the heart, in Levi's view, matched level-9 ferocity.
"Fascinating."
He marched forward boldly, the Red Emperor Dragon's domain shielding him from all flames. Level 9 heat posed no threat, nor would level-10 divine fire faze him for the moment.
At the core, a tattered ancient rug floated amid the emptiness, dyed fully red with a majestic firebird etched upon it.
"A Nine-level Treasure, huh?"
Unbelievable— just wandering around netted a Nine-level Treasure, free of any snares, obviously dragged here by the ancient tower by mistake.
With a casual flick, he seized the rug.
"Divine Fire Blanket, a Nine-level attack oddity, harboring a ninth-level divine flame that devours all in its path, crafted from Level 9 Flame King Dragon Skin, Fierce Sky Sparrow Feather, Flame Angel’s Divine Corpse, Swallowing Star Flame Wolf Fur, plus other exotic components...
A superb piece, top-tier without doubt, rivaling Gandalf’s Plow Star in might. Shame it's useless to me personally, but ideal for the Holy Infant clone, pairing nicely with the wizard tower. Post-Eight Ring completion, it packs enough punch to challenge Level 9 foes.
Come to think of it, both Gandalf and Holy Infant wield Nine-level oddities—no room for bias. Time to snag one for Lord Victor too."
Levi tucked the oddity secure, a faint grin crossing his face.
Jin's tiny eyes held a hint of dissatisfaction.
It sensed something more lurked in this desert, a prize far richer, bound to eclipse the Hound's haul!
The Sea of Fire faded bit by bit, drawn into the magic carpet. Abruptly, a blaze of crimson light surged straight at Levi.
"Who goes there? How dare you invade the domain of the Fiery Flame Devourer Iros? Insolent fool! Release my father at once!"
