Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method Chapter 2825: 576: The Traveler Who Collects Oddities, the Penman Who Seals Ten Thousand Demons!
Previously on Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method...
In that instant, it felt as though the crushing mass of a Hundred Thousand Mountains had descended upon him!
Bang! Forced to his knees against his will, he collapsed onto the ground, gasping for air.
"Spare me, please spare me... Could you be the Ultimate Saint?"
His thoughts immediately raced toward that mythic figure frequently mentioned by the alien races.
Levi didn’t feel like wasting words. He moved decisively, using the Black Emperor Dragon to bring the man under his absolute enslavement.
"Master, what are your orders?"
The man remained kneeling, his expression now one of profound reverence.
This display of power left the members of the White Bear Tribe paralyzed with awe.
The White King was particularly shaken. Even after a millennium, he had only reached the Level 8 Middle Stage, yet this Ultimate Saint appeared to be at least ten levels beyond that!
"We thank you, Saint!"Led by the White King, the entire tribe prostrated themselves to show their deep appreciation.
"It is nothing. There weren't any casualties, were there?"
"None, My Lord."
"Very well. I shall be taking my leave now."
"My Lord, if I may... how is my brother? Is he doing well?"
"He is fine. He has already reached the Level 8 Late Stage."
Levi offered these words of comfort before departing.
As they watched the Saint vanish into the distance, the White Bear Tribe remained in a state of shock for a long time.
"Even if a True God descended, could they truly be more impressive than this?"
"Indeed, he is truly a monumental figure from the world beyond."
...
The Ninth Layer.
Levi traveled atop a White Tiger, with Jin and the Hound scouting ahead for hidden treasures. Meanwhile, he commanded the man at his side to give a full account of his background.
The man’s name was Ritter, a genius hailing from a powerful civilization.
According to the cosmic perspective of wizards, that civilization existed outside the Pan-Plane and was known as the Nelarayan Civilization. They lacked intricate spells and flashy battle techniques; instead, they had refined the Way of Beast Tamer to its absolute zenith!
Their power levels ranged from 1 to 10, corresponding to the wizard ranks of low, middle, high, great, and legendary. Their titles were categorized as: Profession, Master, Epic, Legendary, and Mythical.
Ritter was a Level 8 Peak Epic Beast Master. Because his companion was a Legendary level [Purple Lightning Heart Ape], he possessed a high chance of becoming a Legendary Beastmaster. This brought to mind Newman from the Giant Beast Paradise, whose spiritual beast was also of the Legendary rank.
The lineage of Nelarayan stretched back to ancient times, mirroring the dawn of the wizard civilization. After hearing the summary, Levi noted that the Nelarayan Civilization shared certain commonalities with the wizard’s School of Spiritualism.
However, this civilization’s focus on the Way of Beast Tamer was far more specialized, as they currently boasted two Level-10 Mythical Beast Masters:
The ruler of the [Ryan Continent], known as the [Master of All Beasts, Holy Master of Light, Guardian of Earth and Forests, King Rockel].
The sovereign of the [Sea of Nara], titled the [Mother of Sea King, Dark Empress, Guardian of Rivers and Deep Sea, Queen Olisa].
This husband-and-wife duo stood as the strongest pillars of the Nelarayan civilization, protecting their vast domain together.
The King's Lifebound Guardian Beast was the [Ancient Holy Light Dragon], a creature Levi recognized as the source of Duke Rumon's Mythical Bloodline.
The Queen's Lifebound Guardian Beast was the [Star Sea Giant Demon], the primordial ancestor of all Siren-type lifeforms. Its true form was a colossal octopus dwelling in the Land of Darkness, possessing over a billion tentacles capable of plucking the stars and moon from the sky.
Levi had previously assumed these two mythical species were extinct, never imagining they still thrived in a distant corner of the Pan-Plane.
Beyond these two Mythical Beast Masters, Nelarayan also maintained twenty-four Legendary Beastmasters, famously called the [Sea and Land Twenty-Four Heavenly Kings].
Ritter, having reached the bottleneck of Level 8 Peak, had been searching for a path to Level 9. He had been sucked into the ancient tower while scavenging for resources in a crumbling world.
He had initially believed he had merely triggered an old trap, but his expression grew grim when Levi informed him he was inside the Dark Ancient Tower.
His people knew the legends of the tower; while others had entered in the past, unless one entered during the grand opening that occurred once every ten thousand years, there was virtually no hope of escape.
Levi was delighted to obtain the coordinates of the Nelarayan civilization from Ritter, as it was located in the same general region as the Golden Sacred Realm.
On his next long-distance voyage, he could stop at the Nelarayan Empire. Having already gathered so many legendary creatures, his next objective was to find a way to bring this civilization toward Nora, allowing the Dusk Holy Temple to accelerate its growth.
However, with two Level-10 powerhouses in play, Levi knew his current strength was insufficient. This required a patient, well-orchestrated plan.
As Levi and Ritter continued their discussion regarding Nelarayan, the long-silent Twilight Round Table suddenly stirred and spoke:
"The name Nelarayan sounds familiar to me."
"Was this person a contemporary of yours?"
"Yes. I recall Nelarayan sitting beside Osserrel back then. He was only a Level 9 Expert at the time, and every conversation he had with Sauron revolved around the art of beast taming."
Hearing this, Levi turned to Ritter: "Are the Sea of Nara and the Ryan Continent named after figures from your history?"
Ritter confirmed:
"Yes. When joined, they form the name of our civilization's most vital figure... Nelarayan.
He was born 300,000 years ago. He unified the systems of beast taming and journeyed across the Multidimensional Plane to collect, breed, and preserve countless endangered species.
He authored the legendary 'Beast Taming Holy Scripture' and the 'All Beast Atlas.' As the first to reach the Mythical level as a Beastmaster, he is honored by all who followed as the [Tame Ancestor].
To honor the Tame Ancestor, the continent and the ocean were named using his split name. Furthermore, the year of his birth marks the first year of the Nelarayan calendar.
Following the Tame Ancestor’s passing, Olaran flourished by utilizing his inheritance. At its zenith, the civilization held four Mythical level Beastmasters, known as the 'Four Saints of Earth, Fire, Wind and Water.' However, due to repeated demonic incursions and the arrival of Golden Sacred Realm colonists, many legendary and mythical bloodlines were lost. Today, only two Mythical Beastmasters remain."
As he spoke, Ritter could not hide the sadness in his eyes.
Levi understood that a civilization with four Level-10s was nearly as formidable as the early Nora civilization.
But the Way of Beast Tamer was inherently reliant on external creatures, making it vulnerable to shifts in the natural environment.
The decline of Nelarayan was a logical outcome.
But that was about to change.
Levi—the master of the Dragon Palace, Director of the Ancient Dragon Zoo, and Pokemon Card Master—patted Ritter on the shoulder with a determined look in his eyes:
"Do not lose heart. It is our responsibility to restore the glory of beast taming!"
