Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1633 - 564: Steel Throne (Part 3)
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
"This..." Trena found herself pausing at the other's statement.
One had to admit, a bit of validity lingered in those words from the other.
...
Floating City.
Negative fourth floor, main power and transmission area.
"It's truly an exquisite design." While Og and Otto remained unimpressed, Haleem, belonging to the Federation Mechanical Research Institute and a specialist in mechanical constructs, could easily spot the clever ingenuity involved.
Eyes wide with awe, as though witnessing something divine, he examined the enormous square apparatus bit by bit, letting out his admiration.
"Crown Rein, this must be the anti-gravity device, correct?"
"Yes, it's a steady anti-gravity mechanism built with Metal Series Witchcraft. Once powered up completely, it renders the whole Floating City nearly weightless like the breeze." Rein glanced at the deep golden cubic device in front and confirmed with a nod.
The item ahead resembled a plain Rubik's Cube in color, but its might rivaled that of a god. This marked the height of goblin engineering from ages past, over ten thousand years old.
"These serve as the four primary thrusters."
"Over here lies the central control panel."
"Weapon control panel..."
"Puppet control chamber..."
As the group moved forward, Haleem, skilled in the Ancient Goblin Language and familiar with scattered records about Floating City from prior studies, described each piece of equipment and its role with perfect ease.
"Lord Haleem, everything from this point relies on you." A faint smile crossed Rein's face as he spoke.
"Naturally, Steel Throne, feel at ease—I've delved into studies of Floating City. Though I won't boast full mastery, getting it fixed poses no issue; just hand it over to me."
Haleem thumped his chest confidently in promise.
"Good, Haleem, I'm leaving this task in your hands. The key focus is swiftly powering the anti-gravity device and mending those four primary thrusters." Rein nodded, smiling, as he replied.
"I plan to head down to the lowest level for a check, and you all..." Rein mentioned, turning his eyes toward Og and Otto.
"We'll pass, Steel Throne," the pair shared a look and declined in unison with head shakes.
What if the Fiend Demon stirred once more?
They'd be utterly finished.
Even the mere ripples from its clash would overwhelm them beyond endurance.
"Fair enough." Rein gave a nod; he got their worries, which made perfect sense.
Besides, bringing Floating City back to life and operational stood as a top priority, and helping Haleem in this spot would hasten the efforts.
...
Before long, Rein made his way to the negative fifth floor, the deepest level of Floating City.
Thanks to Floating City's egg-like halved structure, each descent narrowed the space further.
Upon arriving at the bottommost layer, Rein was surprised to find it like an elven garden, likely the original site of the Goblin Palace.
Yet, after countless millennia, nearly all blooms and greenery had faded and dried up, with survivors corrupted by Evil Qi into twisted forms—all in dark gray hues, releasing faint black vapors, and bristling with jagged spines.
Right now, just the worn-out fountain, fragmented marble figures, and shattered flower plots whispered hints of former glory.
Rein surveyed the surroundings, then fixed his stare ahead at the ruined palace, the Fiend Demon's dwelling. A vast, sinister energy lingered deep inside, palpable to him.
Despite Goblin Princess Amora Gren's assurance of resealing the Fiend Demon, Rein preferred not to trust such a vital issue solely to her word.
Seeing things personally always brought peace of mind.
On top of that, another motive drove him—Rein aimed to hunt for hints on fully eliminating the Fiend Demon or uncovering the real Key of Time that Amora had brought up.
