Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1621 - 560: Chaotic Battle (Part 3)

Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
Seven divine incarnations of evil gods, including the God of Hunting Luen and the Nether Sea Goddess Hela, converged above the floating city ruins to halt a native species' ascension to demigod. Sensing the threat, the Federation's epic strongmen retreated in haste, unable to confront such overwhelming power, while the deities dismissed them as insignificant ants and blasted through the ancient barriers to reach the core. Rein completed his ascension in an instant, his expression turning to wary readiness as the gods recognized him as the blasphemer who had previously humiliated Luen, their fury mounting to obliterate him before his transformation solidified. Just as they prepared to strike, a strange goblin shrouded in black aura erupted from below.

"This... this is... Void Demon!"

As one of the Divines, Hela instantly pierced through the true nature concealed under the goblin's appearance, and it was exactly this revelation that left her utterly stunned.

"Weren't all demons in this world sealed away by Matilda? How is it possible for one to remain here?" blurted the Nether Sea Goddess Hela in disbelief.

"There's yet another one over there," declared the God of Hunting, Luen, as he shifted his eyes toward a different location.

Matilda?

Standing next to him, Rein sharply caught hold of that particular name.

He was certainly familiar with it from before—it appeared to be the title held by the Seasonal Wind and Ocean Goddess.

Right when the seven Divine Incarnations spotted the pair of ancient goblins wrapped in dark energy, those two goblins, whose strength obviously exceeded Goblin General Angerik's, also directed their attention at the enormous figures of the Divine Incarnations.

"I sense that aura... such tempting and mouthwatering prey."

"Yes, these tasty morsels have come right to us..."

Observing this unfolding, Rein gave a mental nod of approval.

True to his earlier assessment, tensions existed between the demons and the Evil God as well.

"I'm detecting a far more frightening demon presence rising from deeper down."

"Let's move!"

"Hold on, what happened to that human?"

"Eh? Where did he go?"

All at once, the Divine Incarnations realized that as they concentrated on the two ancient goblins corrupted by demonic influence, the young human had slipped away from sight!

Moreover, the disruptions caused by numerous Ancient Witch Arrays in the vicinity severely hampered senses and witchcraft abilities, rendering it challenging even for the Divine Incarnations to track Rein's position.

In fact, the moment Great Craftsman Dupre triggered the mechanical contraption, Rein had employed Shadow Shifting to conceal himself in a chamber several hundred meters distant.

Rein had foreseen right away that after the device's startup, even reaching Demigod status might prevent him from executing Shadow Shifting, prompting his swift retreat into hiding.

Right before Haleem departed, he had passed to Rein a chronicle detailing famous personalities and artifacts from the final era of the Ancient Goblin Empire.

Therefore, upon the emergence of two goblins displaying unique attire and clear signs of elevated rank, Rein deduced who they were. The figure donning flying goggles had to be the Goblin Empire's Great Craftsman Dupre.

Regarding the one clad in the High Rank Wizard Robe, that was probably the Great Sage Tamriel, infamous for unleashing calamity across the whole Goblin Empire.

"That sly human deliberately guided us to this place," the Nether Sea Goddess Hela quickly grasped Rein's scheme and fumed in irritation.

"All to force us into clashing with the demons!"

"Hurry, we need to advance!"

In that moment, the goblin dressed in leather armor and equipped with goggles abruptly drew forth a remote device and activated it with a press.

The entirety of the Floating City Ruins began to resonate with a deep buzzing sound, resembling the awakening of a colossal energy-powered apparatus.

Intricate patterns surfaced across each level of the metallic surfaces, while the earlier damages like fissures and breaches rapidly mended back to pristine condition.

"It appears we must eliminate these two demon-possessed forms initially. If not, escaping will prove impossible for any of us. Should additional demon manifestations emerge from the depths, all of us incarnations could perish right here."

"Furthermore, should the demon absorb the essence from our incarnations, its revival might outpace even our main bodies. At that point, we'd face grave peril!" stated the Nether Sea Goddess Hela gravely, her expression grave.

Deep in her core, she despised Rein intensely, surpassing even her loathing for the God of Hunting Luen. She yearned to eradicate him immediately.

Yet, the pressing circumstances now barred her from chasing after Rein; priority lay in defeating the demon avatars first.

In the meantime, from the vantage of a window in an adjacent goblin barracks, Rein observed with a grin as the Void-infused Great Craftsman Dupre and Great Sage Tamriel engaged in a ferocious clash against the seven Divine Incarnations.

To Rein's astonishment, the goblin Great Craftsman's fighting prowess actually outmatched that of the Great Sage.

A contraption akin to an enormous tank charged upward from the fourth underground layer, warping the gravity in its vicinity, as assorted plasma cannons unleashed nonstop barrages toward the Divine Incarnations.

"Remarkable, what an intense showdown."

"Looks like settling the victor won't happen in a hurry."

"Perhaps I should boost my own abilities in the interim."
