Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1619 - 560: The Great Melee
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
Suddenly, Rein sensed in his mental sea how the four-layered spiritual power crystal, wrapped inside an amber-resembling core, started to undergo a transformation.
Above the base of those original four crystal layers, a fresh addition emerged—a tinier, yet far more intricate 3D form. This marked the fifth-level Metal Series Witchcraft 'High-frequency Cutting'.
Perhaps due to its origin from the same lineage, the entire five-layer setup displayed fluid contours, exuding a beauty beyond words.
Cracks spread further across the amber-like core encasing the crystal, resembling a planetary core breaking apart into fragments.
A closer look revealed that through those fissures, a strange tri-colored energy flowed steadily in and out, creating a stunning visual display!
...
[System detects host advancing to fourth-level Wizard, lifting the upgrade limit on the fourth-level innate wizardry 'Steel Thorns Forest'. Proceed with the upgrade? This will require 97 Golden Skill Points.]
(Note: After upgrading, the innate wizardry will fit the host even better, boosting its strength, reach of attacks, or similar features.)
Though he had already used up 912 Golden Skill Points earlier, for Rein with almost two thousand points available, 97 was merely a tiny fraction.
Besides, passing up this chance meant it wouldn't return, so Rein quickly selected 'Yes'!
The very next instant, a rush of memories about enhancing the fourth-level innate wizardry 'Steel Thorns Forest' poured into Rein's thoughts...
Concurrently, the four-layered spiritual power crystal in his mental sea received matching subtle adjustments.
Before long, another system notification rang out:
[Ding! Upgrade to host's fourth-level innate wizardry 'Steel Thorns Forest' finished. The updated witchcraft model has been refined successfully, granting a 12% power boost and an 18% drop in spiritual power use.]
Enhancing the fourth-level innate wizardry was just a minor piece of this breakthrough, as the system messages kept appearing nonstop:
[Host's spiritual power surges dramatically... spiritual core starting to split...]
[Ding! Advanced to fifth-level Wizard successfully! Spirit +100!]
[Gained fifth-level innate witchcraft: High-frequency Cutting!]
...
Right then, a tremendous aura erupted from Rein's form, appearing even fiercer than Carlos II's own rise!
Instantly, the enigmatic energy particles nearby got pulled in like a flock of fish facing a massive whale.
Such a powerful breakthrough aura made it obvious even to the Wizard Apprentices hustling in the cavern camp.
The Federation folks heading back up to the surface whipped around to stare downward, shock etched on their faces.
After a few seconds under the pull of this swirling absorption aura, Sword Saint Terrio snapped back first and spoke gravely:
"This aura... if I'm right, it's Lord Rein's, but this is..."
"Lord Terrio! You're spot on. That's definitely Lord Rein's aura!"
"Lord Rein must be breaking through..." Haleem's cheeks reddened with thrill, his eyes bulging as he voiced the thought Terrio had left hanging.
"But this... how could it be?" Terrio whispered.
"Reaching Full Moon Wizard?"
"No way! No matter Lord Rein's genius, he couldn't hit Full Moon Wizard. Haleem, you've got it wrong."
"Totally impossible! It has to be something else causing this."
"No, I've studied the old books on Full Moon Wizard breakthroughs. I'm ninety percent certain Lord Rein is hitting Full Moon Wizard!" One of the Twin Flame Spirits, Ogre, declared firmly.
"Precisely, that's why I'm convinced Lord Rein is rising to fifth-level Full Moon Wizard." Haleem agreed with a nod.
With Ogre and Haleem both affirming it, the rest went quiet.
Clearly, no matter their reluctance to believe the scene unfolding, reality stood firm.
"If it's real, Lord Rein could be the first Full Moon Wizard in almost a millennium!"
"But why pick the dangerous Floating City Ruins for his breakthrough?"
Just then, Twin Flame Spirit Otto creased his brow, thought briefly, and asked the question lingering in all their minds.
Silence hung over the group for a moment.
...
At the same time.
Deep below the third basement where Rein resided, past the goblin barracks lay the fourth basement—the Power and Transmission Zone.
Within a tangle of heavy metal conduits, a goblin wanderer cloaked in dark fog abruptly tilted its head upward, and in the blink of an eye, its entire body lifted off the ground, ascending toward the overhead metal roof.
This old goblin sported brown aviator shades and snug leather gear, giving it an odd look.
With a lift of its arm, the metal roof warped and bent, forming a growing split wide enough for someone to slip through.
"Eliminate... the ascender... (Ancient Goblin Language)" it grumbled under its breath.
.....
In a different spot on that same fourth level, a goblin elder dressed in a lavish dark golden robe, with pitch-black eyes, shot a glance skyward before lifting a short black crystal wand high.
In a flash, a tightly packed black ray fired upward, slamming into the metal roof overhead.
The struck metal roof melted away fast, like wax under fire, leaving a gap several meters wide.
The robed goblin elder then drifted upward into the third basement level too.
