Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1610 - 556: Fiery Flame Storm_3

Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
Rein arrived alone at the Ressler Canyon camp, accompanied only by his massive Black Dragon companion, Metheus, who waited outside. Sword Saint Terrio greeted him warmly, but the three elder Dawn Wizards expressed doubt over the Dragan Empire's decision to send just one representative for the perilous Floating City Ruins exploration. Their skepticism vanished upon seeing Metheus, an Extremely Old Dragon of Dawn Peak strength, leaving them awestruck and ashamed. Suddenly, an alert rang out: a powerful giant beast, resembling a dragon, approached rapidly from the west, prompting the group to prepare for confrontation.

...

Soon enough, the entire party reached the skies over Ressler Canyon, spotting a ferocious colossal creature sparkling with a metallic luster beneath the sunlight in the far distance, trailed right behind by a handful of the Empire's weaponized airships.

"That’s Dorick. (Dragon Language)" Black Dragon Metheus whispered under his breath.

"Yes, exactly." Rein agreed, nodding with a grin.

Right from the initial look, Rein had identified the creature—Steel Dragon Dorick.

"Lord Terrio, you can drop the alert now; it’s a companion of Metheus." Rein chuckled and gave a light pat on the wide back of the Black Dragon, addressing Sword Saint Terrio next to him.

In order to hide his power to form contracts with two Giant Dragons, Rein presented Steel Dragon Dorick as an ally of Black Dragon Metheus.

Though it was still quite shocking, this version at least rang true.

His master’s statement left Black Dragon Metheus inwardly annoyed, ‘Who calls that haughty Steel Dragon my friend!’ Yet he had to swallow his complaints silently.

"A friend of your Giant Dragon ally?" Terrio couldn’t hide his astonishment, gazing in disbelief at Rein’s Black Dragon Metheus below him, feeling somewhat stunned.

He’d never come across tales of Dragon Knights and Giant Dragons sharing bonds so deep that a Dragon would call in friends for support?

Rein’s explanation astonished everyone nearby, Haleem included!

What?

As enduring foes, the Federation knew well the ties between the Dragan Empire’s Dragon Knights and the Giant Dragons.

Their connection resembled a partnership agreement more than anything, without Dragon Knights holding the upper hand. Dragons were far too arrogant to bow to any human as a true lord.

Still, the special Dragon Bloodline in the Royal Family lessened the defiance of the Five-Colored Dragons considerably, forging a solid pact back in Emperor Atlas’s time.

Despite that, no one had ever witnessed a Dragon summoning allies like this.

"Steel Dragon Dorick has a fondness for metals, which allowed Metheus to bring it along."

"Naturally, it won’t claim any spoils from our delve into the Floating City ruins, just some exotic metals to consume." Rein clarified, smiling.

"I understand, and we’re more than happy to have it."

As the Federation’s key figure, Sword Saint Terrio gladly accepted the addition of such a mighty dragon.

This uncommon Steel Dragon boasted power on par with Black Dragon Metheus, worth several top Federation experts.

Haleem and his companions nearby also quickly nodded in comprehension.

Ah, that explains it. Steel Dragons crave metals, and the Floating City teems with all sorts of metallic structures—perfect bait to lure it in.

"Attendant, hurry and widen the cave entrance, er... ensure it’s spacious enough for both Lord Dragons to pass through!" Sword Saint Terrio commanded without delay.

"Yes, sir!" A Federation colonel snapped a salute right away.

...

At the same time, far off, the Zok siblings reacted with shock upon receiving the news.

"What? This... this huge monster was brought in by the Empire’s delegate, Lord Rein?"

"It was summoned by Rein’s Giant Dragon ally, Black Dragon Metheus. The beast is called Steel Dragon Dorick." Haleem gravely fixed Ogre Zok’s slip in terminology.

But right then, Ogre paid no mind to Haleem’s tone and muttered:

"It’s an uncommon Dragon at the Extremely Old Dragon rank—Steel Dragon. No surprise we couldn’t stand against it before."

"Unbelievable..." Otto Zok mirrored the daze, murmuring softly.

Yet this revelation hit him hard.

Now he grasped why the Steel Dragon had shown restraint earlier—it all clicked.

"Tell the airship squadron to stand down from alert and resume the standard patrol path." Ogre instructed after shaking off his surprise.

"Yes, sir."

"Come on, Otto, time to visit Lord Rein." Ogre told his brother, his voice laced with resignation, all traces of their former smugness gone.
