Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1593 - 550: An Irresistible Strike! (Part 2)
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
Moria grinned as he offered the explanation.
"Oh? That’s a good thing." Rein's eyes sparkled with excitement.
He never imagined a wizard school would reply to the Mechanical Association this swiftly.
"At present, we've refined the system even more. Be it joining in the crafting of demon statues or tackling assigned missions alongside them, a thorough assessment process exists, and it's operating smoothly right now," Sect Leader Moria elaborated.
Rein kept nodding while absorbing the details.
Handing over the day-to-day operations of the Mechanical Association to Moria clearly proved to be a wise choice.
"Incidentally, I got word that you've uncovered the hidden lair of the Tutkash School?"
"Indeed, Crown Rein. Three days back, three of our wizard teams vanished in the Turthers Valley region, and we've now mostly encircled and secured the zone," Moria responded.
"Turthers Valley?" Rein pictured the map in his mind and recalled it as a barren gorge on the western edge of the Shirendil Plateau, seldom trodden by travelers.
So the Tutkash School had planted their headquarters there—small wonder nobody could pinpoint their location before.
"Yes, when do you intend to check it out?"
"Immediately."
"Right now?" Moria and his companions appeared somewhat taken aback.
"This... Crown Rein, doesn't it feel a tad rushed? Wouldn't it be better to strategize more carefully for encircling the Tutkash School?" Moria paused briefly, selecting his words with caution.
"No real preparations required—we can head out straight away." Rein gave a casual wave, his smile relaxed.
"Very well, Crown Rein. Should we include the 'Destroyer' in our group? Kindly hold on while we ready the airship..." Moria traded looks with a few others, then eyed the enormous Black Dragon Metheus, towering like a miniature peak, and gave a nod.
"No, we'll proceed without delay, and 'Destroyer' remains behind to guard this place."
"Hmm?"
....
Before long, led by the mighty 'Mad Wings' Metheus with a flock of griffins trailing, Rein and his entourage reached the Turthers Valley on the Shirendil Plateau's western flank.
The sudden arrival of the colossal Black Dragon Metheus stirred up a stir among the wizards on guard, yet upon recognizing the fresh Imperial Guardian Rein, their cheers erupted instantly.
Numerous wizards there had suffered the loss of allies in fights against the Tutkash School.
Rein's presence, coupled with the intimidating force of the black dragon, greatly lifted their spirits for the fight ahead!
"Crown Rein, the foes' stronghold lies beneath the valley. The tunnels within twist and turn, packed with all sorts of witch arrays and snares. Nearly every scouting party we've dispatched has perished inside," a Crystallization Wizard overseeing the alert zone reported with deference.
Rein scanned the landscape; Turthers Valley lived up to its description—stark and empty, devoid of greenery, with only sparse desert scorpions and rabbits in sight.
"Crown Rein, I propose our Isodre School wizards combine their efforts to unleash the earth witchcraft 'Earth-shattering,' triggering a massive tremor that ought to drive them out?"
Right then, as Rein held off on deciding, a mustached old fellow from the Isodre School advanced and put forth the idea.
Earlier, he held back from suggesting it since no top-tier fighters were on hand to counter Graham from the Tutkash School; even flushing the enemy out would cost them dearly.
Things had shifted now, though.
Crown Rein and his formidable black dragon were present, so the instant the adversaries emerged, a crushing strike could land.
"No call for such elaborate steps," Rein replied with a shake of his head and a smile.
"Fall back a bit."
"Metheus, keep watch on the perimeter."
Saying that, Rein moved ahead and halted at the gateway to the Tutkash School.
Moria, Bradley, Mogaro, and a bunch of High Rank Wizards from the Isodre School all stared ahead at Rein, puzzled.
Doubts filled their minds, yet with Rein as the new Imperial Guardian, certain queries felt improper to voice, leaving them to observe and await Crown Rein's next move.
Abruptly, a brilliant dark silver metallic glow erupted from Rein's right hand, so vivid it nearly engulfed the entire limb.
Next, Rein crouched slightly and pressed that hand softly against the earth.
"Snap!"
In a flash!
Waves of thick dark silver metallic ripples radiated outward in every direction.
Everywhere the ripples touched, a heavy coating of dark silver metal blanketed the soil. Yet it went further—the metal morphed rapidly, sprouting jagged spikes and barbs that spanned no less than thousands of square meters.
"Hiss~ Crown Rein's witchcraft packs an incredible punch! Keep in mind Stuttgart ranks as a Dawn Wizard too... but he pales in comparison!" the mustached elder of the Isodre School gasped.
"True enough, that span is enormous; even if every earth wizard here pooled their power, they'd barely match this extent," a gray-haired old wizard added, utterly awestruck.
"It's clear why Crown Rein saw no need for our involvement."
....
While the others buzzed with awe and murmurs, the Black Dragon 'Mad Wings' Metheus nearby watched the surge of energy at its core with grave intensity and a trace of surprise.
Being an Extreme Old Dragon, it sensed the exceptional nature of its master Rein’s witchcraft.
