Crown Reginald confidently backed young Lord Rein in the arena showdown, accepting a wager from the skeptical Crown Perkins amid rising tensions among the nobles. As Rein took his stance, an invisible pressure descended from the sky, unveiling Imperial Guardian Pantoscoke astride his newly advanced elder-stage green dragon Hazas, shocking spectators with its massive size and leaving Reginald's allies murmuring in surprise. Unfazed, Rein revealed his own trump card—a colossal mechanical beast modeled after ancient goblin dinosaur technology—prompting Pantoscoke to dismiss it with a laugh before soaring into the air with Hazas for the confrontation.

Though Pantoscoke lacked proficiency in mechanical constructs, a quick visual assessment led him to decide that Rein’s Mechanical Demon Dragon was incapable of flight and appeared weak in distant strikes. As a result, he promptly chose his strategy: battling through constant aerial shifts to stay unbeatable.

"Haaa!!!"

Aloft in the sky, Hazas let out a fierce roar and swiftly released an Acidic Breath!

From Hazas’s vast jaws erupted a huge blob of dark green acid, pouring downward like a verdant cascade straight from the heavens.

Yet that wasn’t all. Pantoscoke chanted an incantation while swinging his green crystal staff, summoning a powerful wind blast that rushed straight at Rein.

Empowered by the gale, the acid’s velocity and force surged dramatically in an instant.

A basic Dragon’s Breath amplified via wind sorcery now displayed might almost matching the Dawn Killing Move. This clever tactic from Pantoscoke quickly drew widespread praise.

"The primary flaw in mechanical constructs lies in their full metal composition, which rapidly diminishes fighting ability when eroded by acid."

"Pantoscoke Crown boasts incredibly deep battle wisdom. By contrast, young Lord Rein, despite his fortune in acquiring this mechanical wonder from ancient goblin ruins, sadly knows too little about his foe."

"True enough, it’s regrettable that such a legendary Epic Level Battle Power relic from antiquity faces imminent ruin. Reginald Crown, perhaps urge young Lord Rein to yield right away..."

Pantoscoke harbored comparable ideas, a grin tugging unbidden at his lips.

Yet in the following instant, a sharp premonition of peril hit him. Peering past the veil of green acid downpour, he caught sight of two abrupt crimson glows.

An innate gut feeling of threat prompted him to guide Hazas into a subtle evasion.

The very next moment!

"Ssshh!"

A pair of scarlet energy rays lanced forward, slicing through the acid veil and slamming into Hazas the Green Dragon’s underbelly and left wing!

Simultaneously, the acid shower hammered down like relentless pellets onto the immense Mechanical Demon Dragon.

The two assaults landed on each other in near unison!

"What!"

"Exchanging wounds like that?"

Intense excitement seized the onlookers. No one had foreseen injuries on both parties right from the opening exchange.

Could this truly be merely a competition?

It rages hotter than any outright brawl!

"You!!" Pantoscoke shot Rein a furious glare.

"Facing sure loss, you opt to wound Hazas merely to vent your refusal to accept defeat? Just as I suspected, Rein, your attitude makes you wholly unfit to serve as an Imperial Guardian."

Corrosive hissing rang out from the Mechanical Demon Dragon, with dense, biting fumes rising thickly, its shiny metal surface now scarred and eaten away, certain seams revealing clear harm.

In the eyes of the crowd, even though Rein had struck Pantoscoke’s Green Dragon, the Mechanical Demon Dragon bore the worse of the toll.

"Oh? Sure loss?"

"Where does that overblown assurance come from?" Rein found the notion quite laughable.

This so-called ’Storm Cloud’ Crown clearly brimmed with excessive arrogance.

While Rein uttered those words, he darted to the Mechanical Demon Dragon’s flank. A press of his hand unleashed a dense dark silver metallic sheen that flowed from his palm, wrapping around the colossal form of the Mechanical Demon Dragon.

This marked the essential ability ’Quick Repair (Active)’ that Rein gained upon becoming a Goblin Engineering Expert.

Whenever the dark silver waves washed over the corroded spots on the Mechanical Demon Dragon’s armor, those blemishes mended bit by bit, much like creased cloth getting ironed flat.

Within mere moments, the Mechanical Demon Dragon returned to pristine condition, stunning the entire audience.

"Could this be..... some form of Metal Series Witchcraft?"

"No surprise Lord Rein picked this ancient goblin device for combat; this sorcery pairs ideally with metallic mechanisms."

The Imperial Guardians, of course, assumed Rein’s vital skill was a scarce variant of Metal Series Witchcraft.

After all, wizards of the Metal Series were scarce to begin with, and Rein’s ’Quick Repair’ did draw on metal energy particles, making the mix-up entirely reasonable.

"You..." Pantoscoke’s eyes bulged as he jabbed a finger at Rein, temporarily speechless.

For Hazas’s wounds, unlike that, offered no chance of swift recovery, turning his prior taunt into a stinging blow against himself.

Pantoscoke felt a mix of humiliation and rage.

His cheeks tinged red, he swallowed his fury and growled lowly, "I seem to have misjudged you, yet the outcome hangs in the balance!"

"Hazas, Drowsy Poison Cloud!"

Wracked by agony, Hazas fixed Rein with a venomous stare brimming with malice and promptly exhaled a vast dark green fog aimed at Rein.

Unlike the prior Acidic Breath, this toxic haze packed far more devastating punch.

Furthermore, this dense vapor carrying a slumbering influence proved tough even for protective witch arrays to fully repel, prompting light barriers to flicker up in the spectator stands to ward off the fumes.

"Is this the Drowsy Poison Cloud?"

Rein, needless to say, was well aware of Pantoscoke’s signature technique.

Legends claimed that contact with this poison fog induced immediate drowsiness, dragging victims into slumber like a vivid illusion. Strong mental fortitude alone might counter it.
