Rein arrived at the Sword Bearers Branch airship docking point, greeting Admiral Edward before vanishing in an instant via his newly mastered Shadow Shifting ability, reappearing near the heavily guarded Church Temple. Sensing that Jennifer and Lagaray remained unharmed, he extended his Dawn Late Stage spiritual power like a radar, scanning hundreds of meters to pinpoint hidden threats amid the ordinary crowds. In a nearby luxurious mansion, Marquis Oronz and his accomplices—a High Rank Knight and two Crystallization Wizards—lounged while plotting to seize control of the Axon Auction House Mingster Branch shares, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Drum Family to eliminate obstacles and claim the women involved. Alarmed by the sudden, overwhelming spiritual detection sweeping over them, the group speculated wildly about its source, dismissing the possibility of Rein's involvement due to his supposed imprisonment by the Nether Sea Goddess. Yet the Marquis grew uneasy, recognizing the probe's targeted intent just as a voice echoed in the room: "Correct, unfortunately, no reward."

"Who?"

The four individuals scanned their surroundings, faces filled with shock!

Right then, while Imperial Marquis O’Lence and the two Crystallization Wizards stared in horror.

From a spot that had been completely empty, an eerie hand materialized abruptly behind the armored knight!

The armored knight's hairs rose instantly, his mind racing with alarm.

A chilling stare seemed to bore into him from the back, akin to a supreme hunter's, and the terrified glances from the trio nearby only reinforced that dread.

Yet, even as he attempted to shift his form and dodge, a massive grip resembling a steel vise clamped onto his throat from the rear. The armored collar warped and bent like flimsy paper.

"Creak!"

With the armored collar warping and bending.

A piercing agony surged through his throat, his sight then slanted by ninety degrees, slowly fading, before total blackness engulfed him.

"Stay still, or die," Rein declared, emerging as though from a hidden dimension.

Imperial Marquis O’Lence along with the remaining two Crystallization Wizards planned to flee in different directions, yet Rein’s command halted them right there.

Indeed, Rein had slain a Titled Knight in a flash right at his arrival, an utterly frightening feat!

Rein flung the knight's limp body, neck snapped, onto the floor without a care.

Right now, one Crystallization Wizard—the one who had earlier boasted about claiming the barbarian girl—clung to a slim hope, summoning three whirling yellowish-brown barriers around his form in an instant, then bolted toward the window like a launched bolt, yanking an item from his robe at the same time.

However, the very next instant, his eyes bulged wide!

For Rein, expected to remain at his back, had inexplicably positioned himself before the window; the wizard's charge now barreled straight into him.

This sight chilled his very core!

The moment he grew fierce, ready to draw a scroll for a last-stand battle.

"Slurp!"

A finger glowing with dim silver radiance pierced through the yellowish-brown barrier covering him in a flash, stabbing directly at the Crystallization Wizard’s brow.

The instant after, every motion of his halted abruptly!

The remaining two yellowish-brown barriers, deprived of their power source, crumbled into mere heaps of dust, scattering downward, as his frame toppled rearward, crashing with a heavy "thud," his limbs jerking faintly now and then...

Imperial Marquis O’Lence and the surviving Crystallization Wizard observed this, sweat pouring coldly over their brows.

Could a Crystallization Wizard's Third Level Talent defense spell shatter so easily under one strike, leading to instant death?

How was one supposed to battle that?

Precisely what kind of near-instant relocation power did Rein possess?

How might they possibly flee?

A flurry of chaotic ideas raced through the minds of the pair!

Though each possessed hidden magical tools and scrolls, when the power gap loomed so vast, such items proved useless—their fallen ally had just vividly illustrated that!

"Rein... Lord Rein, perhaps there's a mix-up here, this wasn't my doing, it was Duke Drum, everything stemmed from him..."

Imperial Marquis O’Lence quickly tried to clarify, only for Rein to cut him off with a hand gesture.

"Imperial Marquis O’Lence, I reached the Imperial City just this morning. Why do you suppose the Drum family held back news of my arrival from you?" Rein held back from striking, posing the question steadily while eyeing the strained composure of O’Lence.

Like a piercing dart, Rein’s statement struck deep into Imperial Marquis O’Lence’s core.

"It must... it must be that the Drum family lacked the chance to... notify me." Imperial Marquis O’Lence paled greatly, still convinced of the alliance between the Drum and O’Lence families.

"Hehe, actually, the Empire's elite learned last night that Prince Menia and I were heading back already." Rein gave a faint smile as he revealed this.

This revelation served as the breaking point for Imperial Marquis O’Lence's calm!

"What!" Marquis O’Lence appeared dazed, refusing to accept it.

In a flash, as a veteran noble of long standing, he pieced together the full story.

No wonder...

No wonder the Drum family’s group never showed up for him!

He—or more accurately, the whole O’Lence family—had been cast aside by Duke Drum the second they heard of Rein's comeback.

"Hold on, Lord Rein, surely you wouldn't wish to stir up needless chaos by ending my life, would you?" With Rein advancing gradually in this dire moment of peril, Imperial Marquis O’Lence grew frantic.

"Oh? What sort of chaos?"

Rein regarded him idly, as if to imply, 'Go on, let's see what you say.'

"Lord Rein, nobles from Earl rank upward hold high status in the Empire; even for violations of imperial rules, cases go to the Elder Council for verdict and sentence. Slaying an Imperial Marquis is bound to spark major issues."

"I'll hand over every bit of the O’Lence family's fortune, and I vow the O’Lence family won't seek revenge."

"No thanks, that chaos you speak of hardly counts as chaos for me." Rein denied it with a shake of his head.

"Thus, Imperial Marquis O’Lence, goodbye!"

"Wait, I'm ready to..." Marquis O’Lence blurted out in haste, trying to add further pleas.

But the very next second.

The Hardened Essence Gold within Rein’s grasp morphed swiftly into an extended piercing blade, driving straight into the begging Imperial Marquis O’Lence’s forehead!
