Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1495 - 514: The True Knight

Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
Rein and Menia find themselves pushed to their limits by the Nether Sea Goddess Hela, whose watery avatar remains a formidable threat. The sudden return of the Empire’s airships provides a critical distraction, allowing Rein to seize the exhausted Menia and retreat toward a nearby island. Despite leaving the open sea, the goddess pursues them relentlessly and uses her mastery over water to manifest five towering avatars, completely encircling the pair in the center of the island. Rein prepares for a final stand on solid ground, hoping to neutralize the goddess's overwhelming advantage.

Even Rein felt his heart tremble at the sight before him.

Had his opponent simply manifested a single additional clone, he could have managed; through a desperate struggle, the result might have remained uncertain. However, the Nether Sea Goddess Hela seemed to be breaking the rules of engagement, abruptly summoning five clones for herself. This was...

Rein also observed the Sea God Sect’s Flying Fish Knights and Manta Knights. Like a swarming cloud of crows, they gathered from every direction, weaving a massive net across the sky to encircle them.

Furthermore, as if acting upon a silent order, these predatory aquatic creatures began to methodically exhale mist. Before long, a soft drizzle started to fall over the entire area.

It was obvious that this rainy climate played directly into the hands of the Nether Sea Goddess Hela.

To put it another way, despite Rein’s exhausting efforts to bait the Nether Sea Goddess Hela onto the island, his advantage had been severely undermined by her latest maneuvers.

This caused Rein’s brow to knit even tighter in concentration.

As Rein scrambled to find a way to break the deadlock, Menia’s spiritual transmission suddenly echoed from behind him:

"Rein, there is a way, but you must place your absolute trust in me."

"Rein, do you trust me?"

"Hmm?" Rein was momentarily baffled by why Menia would suddenly utter such a cryptic, seemingly random question.

He turned his head slightly, seeing Menia staring at him with a look of unprecedented gravity.

Because Rein didn't fully grasp the weight behind Menia’s request for "trust," he hesitated for a second, neither confirming nor denying it.

"Trust me."

He watched as the Red Queen Menia, dressed in her crimson wizard robes, began to emit wisps of fresh blood that drifted around her. Though the volume was small, Rein could sense a terrifying surge of energy vibrating within those droplets.

Simultaneously, a translucent phantom stepped out from Menia’s mature and elegant frame.

The figure moved toward Rein in an instant. His first instinct was to fight back, but remembering Menia’s plea, he forced his mind to relax. In that heartbeat, Menia’s transparent form stepped forward and merged completely into Rein’s body.

Following this, the faint golden threads of blood also poured into Rein like calm, flowing brooks.

"Dragon Blood Sacrifice?!" Seeing this, the Nether Sea Goddess Hela instantly recognized Menia’s actions.

"That dragon descendant actually consented to perform the Dragon Blood Sacrifice for your sake!" Hela spoke with a tone of disbelief, her gaze shifting between Rein and the now-pallid Menia, who was collapsing slowly like a puppet whose strings had been cut.

"It makes sense; you carry the Multi-Headed Dragon Bloodline, allowing you to nearly perfectly consume everything the other party offers."

Rein was currently oblivious to the Goddess Hela’s commentary; he was reeling from the transformations occurring within his own frame.

System notifications were scrolling rapidly before his eyes:

...

[Host has received an infusion of unknown energy; spiritual power has been vastly augmented!]

...

[Host has received an infusion of high-tier Dragon Bloodline; bloodline purity has increased significantly. Automatically unlocking Seventh Form: ’Extremely Old Dragon’.]

...

"This is..."

"The Extremely Old Dragon Form?"

Rein felt an inexhaustible torrent of power erupt within him. In his three-headed dragon state, his physical form began to expand even further.

Unlike his previous old dragon form—which was thirty percent larger than a standard giant dragon—Rein’s current size swelled by another twenty meters, reaching a staggering length of nearly eighty meters. His strength, speed, and other attributes surged in tandem.

Through a vague estimation, Rein felt his overall power had jumped by more than sixty percent.

At the same time, foreign memory fragments flickered through his mind like a frantic slideshow: a young girl, lessons in royal decorum, opulent palace feasts, towering dragons, refined young noblemen, and multi-headed dragons...

"Are these... Prince Menia’s memories?!" Rein cried out in his mind.

He caught glimpses of Menia’s life from her youth to the present. He realized that as he finished absorbing this ‘infusion’ of energy over time, he would likely inherit the sum of Menia’s knowledge.

In essence, every one of Menia’s secrets was now laid bare to him.

For a woman, such an act represented a monumental sacrifice!

Most importantly, Rein finally understood the meaning behind the peculiar look Menia had given him earlier...

"Prince Menia, the question wasn't whether I trust you, but whether I am worthy of the trust you've placed in me," Rein thought with a heavy heart.

But clearly, there was no time to dwell on such reflections.

Rein also realized the staggering price Menia had paid for this gambit!

He had to move immediately and end this fight as quickly as possible. Only then would he have a chance to separate their essences and return her consciousness to her body. If not...

Rein was not a saint, but he possessed principles that forbade him from using such sacrificial methods to gain power.

Furthermore, for someone like Rein, gaining strength might not be as easy as breathing, but it certainly wasn't a struggle—as proven by his ascent to a Fourth Level Dawn Wizard in less than two years.
