Witch's Daughter And The Devil's Son Chapter 784: Plans To Keep In Bed All The Time

Weakened as she was, Seren struggled to catch her breath during the fiery kiss shared with her mate, yet a powerful compulsion drove her to remain attached to him no matter what.
Erebus's tongue plunged into her mouth, seeking out hers, and he growled contentedly once he located it and savored its taste.
Meanwhile, Seren was consumed by the kiss's fierce passion while her body began to weaken further.
"Ahem!"
A recognizable voice cut in, but the pair showed no response, acting as if it held no importance.
"Erebus?" the voice called out once more. "Your mate is suffocating. You might knock her out if you continue."
Stubbornly intent on relishing his mate, the beast at last processed the warning and halted. He turned his gaze to the woman who had broken their moment. Despite her being his mother, the anger blazing in his eyes stayed fierce, silently demanding why she would dare interrupt.
Evanthe remained unperturbed, fully aware this was simply the beast's nature.
Positioned at the doorway's edge without stepping inside, she cautioned him yet again, "You should care for your mate at this moment instead of pouncing on her. She is weak."
Erebus looked back toward Seren, who heaved for air, her cheeks burning red as though all her vitality had vanished. The rage in his stare melted away at the view of her.
"You should prepare a meal for her so she can regain some strength," Evanthe said. "If you don't mind, I'll take care of her."
Gently stroking Seren's cheek, Erebus hesitated to pull away from her, but eventually retreated and rose to his feet. Wordlessly, he departed the bedroom, offering nothing even to his mother.
Evanthe entered the chamber and approached Seren, who lay too drained to budge, gazing up at her with misty, pleading eyes.
Evanthe laughed softly. "That's a beast for you—can be really overwhelming." A vial materialized in her palm as she perched on the bed's edge. "Open your mouth."
Though Seren's lips throbbed with swelling and heat, she followed the instruction.
Evanthe tipped the liquid past her lips and clarified, "This will give you some strength, though it won't completely heal you. Your body is weaker due to the intense force caused by the marking."
Seren shut her eyes, sensing her energy slowly coming back.
"Erebus will bring you a nice meal shortly. Once you eat something, you'll feel much better."
Seren hummed softly, and Evanthe asked, "Would you like me to help you freshen up?"
Seren nodded, and Evanthe guided her to the bath. When Seren came back, Erebus had already returned to the bedroom carrying a tray of food. She took her seat on the bed as he meticulously placed the meal before her, then withdrew.
Evanthe eyed her son, noting his struggle to stay composed and fight off Seren's alluring scent, just as Seren appeared to battle the identical pull.
"You might want to get some fresh air, Erebus. I'm here with her," Evanthe suggested gently.
In her role as mother, she strove to guide her son wisely, unwilling for his impatience to spoil the exquisite ritual of bonding with his mate.
Seren gazed at him, his shadowy eyes locked onto hers. Her pulse quickened wildly at his presence, filling her with a yearning to draw near.
Erebus pivoted and exited the room.
With the door shutting behind him, Seren caught Evanthe's gentle tone. "It's normal to feel this way after being marked, until you complete the bond with him. But before that, you need to be strong enough to keep up with him, which is impossible with your body in this condition."
Seren nodded quietly and eyed the food. Erebus had prepared it himself, and a warm glow filled her heart realizing he could cook.
Her belly rumbled fiercely upon seeing the spread, and she dove in like a famished beast untouched by food for years.
Evanthe laughed watching Seren cram bites into her tiny mouth, cheeks bulging like a chipmunk's. "Don't choke yourself. Take it easy. The entire meal is for you, and I'm sure there's more if you need it."
Seren kept devouring the food endlessly, as if it would never end. She pondered when her appetite had turned into an endless abyss, maybe even a chasm.
Once she at last cleared the plate, Evanthe inquired, "Feeling better?"
Seren nodded. "He really knows how to cook. Everything was delicious."
"I could see that, given the way you devoured it all like a demon."
Seren offered a shy smile but paused before asking further. "Can I ask you something, mother?"
Evanthe hummed in acknowledgment.
"Has Drayce's father ever cooked a meal for you?" Seren asked curiously. If they were in love, it meant they must have spent a lot of time together, right?
Evanthe nodded. "I was injured back then when he found me, so he took care of me—which included cooking for me as well."
Delighted by Evanthe's reply, Seren ventured a bit more. "Will you ever tell me how you two met and what happened between Drayce's father and you?"
Evanthe let out a light sigh. "Curious cat, aren't you?"
Seren smiled sheepishly. "I was just… curious."
"I'll tell you, but now is not the right time." Evanthe gestured toward the window. "Look, the sky will soon turn dark, and the moon will rise. Tonight is the night of the full moon, and I'm sure you know what the full moon means for mates.
Seren nodded. She had read in books that on every full moon night, the attraction between mates was irresistible, and they were naturally drawn to each other. It was said that consummating the bond on the night of a full moon was the most fortunate thing, as it strengthened the bond even more.
Evanthe added, "The day before each full moon night, there's a festival in Agartha where all the members of the beast clan gather. It's a celebration for mated couples to enjoy together, and for single beasts to find their mates. You missed it this time, but perhaps next month you'll be able to attend with Erebus."
"I've heard about it," Seren replied. "I look forward to being there."
Evanthe hummed pensively before rising. "For now, let's get you dressed and ready for your mate before it gets dark." With that, she headed to the wardrobe stocked with dresses prepared for Seren.
"I have clothes as well?" Seren asked in surprise.
"Don't underestimate your mate's thoughtfulness," Evanthe teased, selecting a red dress. "Put this on."
With Evanthe's aid, Seren slipped into the gown. Staring at her reflection, she frowned faintly. "This dress looks more like something to wear at bedtime rather than for going out. And all the other dresses in there look the same."
The gown flowed to the floor in deep crimson, featuring a rounded neck, extended sleeves, and fine ruffles at the cuffs. Loose and cozy, it retained an elegant allure.
"You can probably guess your mate's intentions from the kind of dresses he prepared for you," Evanthe chuckled playfully.
Seren glanced at Evanthe via the mirror. "Intentions?"
"He plans to keep you in bed all the time, with no intention of taking you outside," Evanthe answered with a mischievous smile.
Seren's face turned scarlet, yet she ventured timidly, "All the time? Wouldn't that be... too much?"
