What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company? Chapter 852: Police?

Our vessel completed its warp jump into the designated system where the Pleasure Station resided. However, reaching the station itself would necessitate a considerable amount of time, as it was situated quite a distance from the Warp Gate.
"Umm... Daddy?" Renata piped up, her voice cutting through the quiet.
I lifted my gaze from the Captain’s chair where I was seated, inquiring, "What is it, Renata?"
"We are receiving a transmission, Daddy."
A frown creased my brow. "From whom?"
"Mmm... The scans indicate they are the local constabulary for this station, Daddy."
My eyes drifted towards the viewport, observing the expanse of space outside. Indeed, a cluster of patrol ships was positioned directly ahead of our ship.
"It's likely an inspection or similar procedure... Connect them, please."
Renata complied, and a screen materialized before me, displaying a middle-aged man adorned in a sharp, elegant uniform. He regarded me with a notably stern expression.
His gaze briefly shifted to the side, presumably reviewing the results of his scan on my ship, before returning to me.
"Captain Tera?" he inquired.
I affirmed with a nod. "That is correct. Is there an issue, officer?"
"As per the regulations established by the administrator of this sector, your vessel has been selected for a random onboard inspection. Your cooperation is required."
I expressed my displeasure with a frown. "I believed a standard scan would suffice? Are you requesting to board my vessel?"
"This is the mandated procedure for all vessels traversing this system. Kindly cooperate, and we shall ensure the process is conducted with minimal disruption."
With a shrug, I responded, "We have nothing to conceal, so certainly."
I accessed my console, powering down the engines and retracting the shields, signaling my willingness to comply.
The communication link was terminated, and the external patrol ships commenced maneuvering into formation, preparing to dock with my ship.
I was beginning to feel reassured, believing no incriminating items would be discovered, as all contraband had already been entrusted to Clement for disposal. Thus, discovery seemed unlikely.
That sense of security vanished when Renata turned back to me, her expression tinged with concern. "Daddy? Are you certain everything is in order?"
I raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean? We shouldn't have anything problematic for them to find, correct? All our illegal cargo was given to Clement to handle."
"Daddy... We do possess one item in our cargo hold that is highly illegal..." Renata gently reminded me.
I furrowed my brow, pondering what she might be referring to.
Then, the image of the very creature we were tasked with smuggling, an entity unequivocally prohibited, flashed into my mind.
Damn it... How does one possibly conceal a colossal turtle, the size of a small vehicle?
Swiftly, I dispatched a message to all my companions, informing them of the impending inspection and instructing them to prepare themselves.
I also made sure to pose a question in the group chat regarding the feasibility of hiding a car-sized turtle before the arrival of the inspection personnel.
Unexpectedly, it was Renata who responded, despite her close proximity.
"Hmmm? Does Daddy wish for me to conceal that particular item? I can handle it for you~"
My gaze dropped to my chest, the origin point of her voice. "You can? How is that possible?"
"Ehehehe~ Just leave it to me, Daddy! Mmm... There! All finished!"
I blinked in surprise. "Finished? You've already hidden it?"
"Ehehehe~ That's right, Daddy! It was incredibly simple!"
Puzzled, I proceeded to the cargo bay, only to discover the area where the turtle had been situated was now completely vacant.
In its place stood a beaming Renata, her green hair framing a proud smile as she offered me a peace sign.
I drew in a sharp breath. "Did you... Ingest it?"
"Ehehehe~ Precisely, Daddy! Oh, do not worry, it remains alive within me! I did not absorb it; I merely relocated it to a different dimensional space~" she chirped, patting her stomach.
Okay... That momentarily sent a shiver down my spine... Because if she had genuinely consumed the turtle, our entire journey here would have been in vain...
Renata then swiveled her head towards the docking bay. "Ah~ It appears they have arrived, Daddy~ Shall we proceed to greet them?"
At this juncture, only Renata and I were present, as the other girls were... Well, not in a suitable condition to receive visitors.
Specifically, they were still partially unclothed. We had reached a stage where they found it more practical to wear minimal attire, allowing me to embrace them whenever the mood struck.
They hadn't yet attained the same level of nudity as Lea, still opting for some form of covering, even if it was merely a jacket draped over their shoulders... Yet, all their garments could be shed in mere moments to leap into my arms if they so desired.
Consequently, they were now hastily retreating to their quarters to dress, ensuring they wouldn't be exposed to our unexpected guests.
Furthermore... Just for the record... I was in a similar state, having also chosen attire that offered more... exposed coverage.
The sole distinction was my ability to alter my clothing instantaneously, unlike them.
As the doors cycled open, I stepped forward to be greeted by a contingent of personnel clad in security armor, their helmets obscuring their faces, and weapons at the ready. The sight of several individuals in Power Armor among them made me question the necessity of such a formidable display for a routine inspection.
The leader of the group approached me, his helmeted head tilting slightly. "Captain Tera?" he inquired.
"That's me," I confirmed.
"You are under arrest."
Arrest? The word hung in the air as the security team fanned out, weapons trained on me. "Please do not make any sudden movements, or we will not be able to guarantee your life," a voice stated tonelessly.
Slowly, I raised my hands in a gesture of surrender. "Hold on... What did I even do? What crime did I commit for me to be arrested?"
"You have been found to be in possession of items classified as illegal in this sector. Surrender now and you will be afforded leniency. Resist and we will resort to deadly force."
I blinked, confused. "Wait... What items? I don’t have anything? I’m not even transporting anything right now?" To emphasize my point, I gestured towards the largely empty cargo bay behind me, where the only contents were salvaged materials and supplies from past encounters with pirates and insurgents – items that were unequivocally legal. The accusation was baffling, and I couldn't fathom who would have tipped them off. This felt less like a random search and more like a targeted operation.
The helmeted individual turned to his subordinates. "Search the ship." They dispersed, meticulously combing through the vessel, while a few remained, keeping their weapons trained on me.
I didn't object to the search, confident that nothing illegal would be found.
"Is there anyone else on board?" the leader inquired.
"Yeah... My crew..."
"Call them all here."
"Umm... Including the androids?" I asked, nodding towards Renata, who stood silently behind me.
The leader paused, his gaze fixed on Renata. I couldn't tell if he was scanning her or admiring her, but he soon shifted his attention back to me. "There’s more than one?"
"Err... Yeah... A few of them..."
"Call everyone here including the androids."
Turning to Renata, I asked, "Could you let everyone know to gather here? And have all of your... Other selves gather here as well?"
Maintaining her maid android persona, she replied in a monotone voice, "Yes, Daddy." The investigators, if surprised by her address, showed no outward reaction.
I remained in place as the search of my ship's sparse cargo bay continued. Soon, my crew entered the cargo bay, and the security personnel stationed near the entrance promptly detained them, escorting them towards me. Amber looked at me, her expression puzzled. "What’s going on, Tera?"
"I don’t know... They said that I possess something illegal so I’m being arrested... Now they’re searching my ship..."
"They’re... Arresting you even though they haven’t found any evidence of what they are accusing you of?" she asked.
I could only offer a shrug in reply.
The search extended to the rest of the ship. We stood under surveillance for another hour before a security officer finally returned and conferred with the individual who had initially accused me. Their hushed conversation, likely conducted via internal comms, concluded with a consensus. The leader approached me once more. "Captain Tera. You and your crew will be placed under arrest. Please do not resist."
What the heck?!! Did you guys even find anything?!!
