Alarms blared through the station at night, waking Tera as fanatics stormed the hangar, knocked out the guards, and stole her prized Verlandi ship. She rallied her crew aboard the Iridescence, revealing their plan to leave it unlocked with sabotaged Travel Drives that shut down the vessel mid-escape. Tracking the stranded ship, they tractor-beamed it into their hangar and armed up to confront the thieves.

Like I mentioned earlier, even though we had anticipated this scenario, it didn't mean I was okay with it actually taking place.

The reality that they had smashed things inside the ship irritated me even further, despite knowing Ries and Renata could repair everything, so I had zero intention of holding back against these morons.

That's why I was geared up completely, shotgun gripped tightly, as I strode towards my recaptured Verlandi in the Iridescence’s hangar bay.

I charged up to the boarding ramp and gave Ries a nod, which made her tap her personal terminal to lower the ramp with a gentle hiss from the opening doors.

I'd half-expected the thieves to wait by the ramp for a getaway, but no such luck—the area was totally deserted.

Shotgun ready at my hip, I stepped aboard my vessel with my girls following close, all of them packing heat and primed to bash some heads.

Entering the Verlandi’s main corridor, I winced at the destruction these fools had wrought.

Whether while trying to hijack it or in the chaos after we crippled the ship, they had trashed the place without mercy.

Scratches and burn marks scarred the walls, and I had no clue what caused those burns in the first place.

I was banking hard on those two girls wiping every trace away and restoring the ship to mint condition... which was the sole reason I greenlit this scheme from the start.

Truth be told, Ries seemed even angrier than me upon spotting the wreckage, her cat girl tail stiff and upright behind her.

Noticing all that damage hit me before my gaze shifted to the lone thief planted smack in the corridor's center, showing exactly how little I gave about these clowns.

He was the same jerk who'd barked at me last time I exited the ship, and I recalled him being aboard when I hauled him out during that first emergency response.

This idiot clutched a metal bar like a weapon, aimed right at us.

"You... What did you do to our ship?!" He bellowed.

I scowled at him, "First off... Your ship? What the hell do you mean 'your ship'? Second, what the fuck did you do to mess up the walls like that?!"

He hesitated briefly before puffing up, "I don’t know what you’re talking about... Those marks were there already."

"You damn liar. You and your dumb crew yap endlessly about protecting the ship and keeping it spotless, chewing me out for using it... But then you jack it, fly it around, and trash it pointlessly? You're all total hypocrites."

"That’s not true!! We want to preserve this ship properly!! You’re the one wrecking it!"

"Admit it, you're just idiotic hypocrites. You don't really think I was harming it. You simply crave control over it yourselves. Seeing someone else in charge was unbearable, so you schemed to seize it. Bet you haven't a clue how to even operate the damn thing."

He bristled at my words, proving I nailed it, though he'd never confess.

I kept pushing while tracing a burn mark on the wall, "So, what's your excuse? You say I don't deserve it for allegedly damaging it, that I should lose it as punishment for piloting. Yet your gang stole it and inflicted more harm in hours than I did over way longer... What penalty do you deserve?"

"This is different! Totally different!"

"How so?"

"We’re freeing the ship from you! You were abusing it!"

What the actual fuck?

Yeah, this seals it—debating this moron is pointless since logic flies out the window with him.

I motioned at him, "You surrendering peacefully and getting off my ship?"

He brandished the metal pole menacingly, "Never!"

Perfect, that's my cue.

For real, did this clown think threatening me was smart against someone packing a real firearm?

I raised my shotgun and fired at his kneecap, severing his left leg right below the knee.

He crumpled screaming like a baby, grabbing his knee as the pole clattered away.

"AHHHH!!! My leg!!! You shot my leg!! How could you shoot my leg?!! You monster!! Evil monster!! You’re inhuman!!! AHHHHHH!!!"

This asshole won't pipe down, will he? Alright then...

I rushed forward, boot slamming into his gut repeatedly, "Quit resisting! Give up quietly! Why are you hurting yourself?!"

"Sto... Stop!! No... Ahhhh!! Stop!!"

Amber sidled up, dropped a random pistol nearby, and kicked it towards him.

"Oh no!! He’s armed!!" She yelled.

Still punch-drunk and bewildered from my kicks, he muttered, "Wha... What?"

I backed off quick and pumped a shotgun round into the hand nearest the gun, obliterating it entirely.

He howled anew, cradling his mangled arm stump while bawling in agony.

Glare of fury shot my way, "You... You set that up!! That’s not mine!! Fucking monster!! Fake bullshit to justify this!!"

I sighed, crouching to meet his gaze, "You’re missing the point... We don’t need excuses to mess you up. You're trespassing on my ship. This is mine, you invaded. I can do anything I please."

"That’s illegal!! I know my rights!! My laws!! Fuck you!!"

He hawked a loogie at me.

Renata intercepted the spit before it hit, but I still flinched.

All this time, my crew watched the beatdown from behind, loving the spectacle... until he tried spitting on me. Then shit got real.

Amber, nearest, swung first—her fist cracking across his jaw.

Lea followed, the usually serene Alv twisted with fury as her heel smashed his face, a sharp crack signaling breakage.

He tumbled a foot from the impact, but Ries pounced with hammer raised high, her Maochatte crashing it down on his mug with a boom.

Teeth flew out, yet Mara wasn't done—she telekinetically booted his gut, hurling him into the wall with a thud before he flopped face-down.

Yumiko hauled him up, slammed him back, then unleashed a flurry of punches blurring into his face until it ballooned beyond recognition.

Yumiko retreated, and blue-haired Renata leaped in.

She merely touched his head—no punches—yet he convulsed wildly, collapsing in fits.

I observed his seizure-like thrashing, foam at his lips, then blood streaming from nose and eyes.

What in the world did Renata do?

Nah... Better not ask...

I cleared my throat, "Ahem... I’ll scout the rest of the ship for the others..."

This lone idiot didn't operate solo; more thieves lurked aboard, awaiting our attention.

And if they're as infuriating as this one, my shotgun's blasting more limbs soon...

We abandoned the twitching fool and swept the ship, discovering the cargo room door busted while the rest lay vacant.

The lone unchecked spot was a bedroom where they'd barricaded and locked themselves in.

Seriously? They think a lock keeps me from my own ship?

Screw that, I'm busting in!!
