What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company? Chapter 814: The Other Pilots Are Jealous

The remaining rebels were captured by the security team and dragged off, probably for questioning or the like.
It's not my concern regardless, since I've already gone above and beyond by safeguarding their outpost.
I guided the Verlandi back to its berth inside the Iridescence, while Renata maneuvered the bigger vessel to reattach to the station.
As we stepped out of the Verlandi, Yumiko glanced back at the craft with a longing look.
"Something wrong?" I asked.
She shook her head, "Not at all. It’s just... I can’t actually believe I got to fly in and shoot the guns of an actual Verlandi."
I tilted my head at her, "I didn’t know you were a fan."
"I think it is harder to find someone who isn’t a fan than it is to find one, Mistress."
I shrugged, "I wouldn’t know, considering... You know."
"Ah, I suppose that is true, my apologies, Mistress."
"No big deal. Anyway... While we’re on the way there, I suppose we should just go and do what we originally came here for."
Yumiko turned back to me, looking confused, "What do you mean, Mistress?"
"Did you forget? I originally came here to get the ingredients I need to make sauces and spices to bring back to the station."
The expression on Yumiko’s face showed she had totally overlooked that.
I don’t even fault her considering the chaos we just endured, so no issue there.
I returned to the kitchen area with Yumiko, resuming my search for the required ingredients, with her ready to assist if needed.
Having a clear plan of what to grab, it didn’t take me much time to locate everything before carrying them to the prep space to blend them together.
My plan was to whip them up right here and stash them in Renata for future use.
Which I really hope she doesn’t devour entirely on her own...
By the moment I wrapped up preparing them, the ship had also just linked up with the station, so I readied myself to exit alongside Yumiko.
However, upon reaching the docking hatch, the door slid open to reveal Amber standing there, my golden-haired partner leaping straight into my embrace the instant she spotted me.
"Teraaaaa!! Are you ok?! Were you hurt?!"
I gazed down at the woman nuzzling her face against my chest, "Weren’t you the one who zoomed by us in the Exo-Knight and single-handedly eliminated a ton of those rebels? I assumed you’d realize we’re totally unharmed."
She kept pressing her face into my boob, "Mmm~ You may be physically fine but what about mentally? Was it scary because I wasn’t there? You must have been scared by all those mean looking bad people, right?"
I reached down and pinched her cheek, "Stop acting like that just to have an excuse to rub my boobs. I would have just let you rubbed them if you asked."
"Ow ow ow!! I get it, I get it! I’m sowwy!!"
I kept pinching her a bit longer before releasing her.
She rubbed her cheek with her hand before giving me an eager glance, "Can I rub your boobs, Tera?"
I sighed, "Sure..."
She immediately buried her face between my breasts and began fondling them without shame.
She gave each of my mounds a squeeze before peering up at me, "So... Are you really alright?"
"Yes, I’m fine, Amber. Where are the others?"
"Mmm~ They’re still at the hangar I think? They had some procedure that they needed to do since we used their Exo-Knights for live combat."
"What about you?"
"Oh, I couldn’t be bothered so I just left it to them to do and came to find you instead, Tera~"
I gave her a light smack on the head, "How can you be so irresponsible?"
"Owww~ It’s fine, Tera~ They can deal with it without me, really~"
Hmmm... If any issues arise from that... I’m not to blame...
She then glanced past me to spot Yumiko waiting there, "Ah! Don’t tell me... You and Yumiko had fun without me? That’s not fair!"
"We didn’t fuck," I informed her before heading out of the ship and returning to the station. "I only came here to get some ingredients that I needed to make the sauces and spices that I will need for my future cooking here. Then those insurgents showed up and we decided to mobilise to help the security team."
Amber rolled her eyes, "That’s boring. At least make her suck you off while you’re piloting or something."
"Yeah... That’s a terrible idea, Amber. Anyway, I have to ask... You piloted the new Exo-Knights for the fight, right? How do they feel in a fight?"
"Hmm~ I suppose if I had to describe it, it’s just basically better in every way? If I compare it to the ones we had to use back in the academy of course."
"If you had to pick between flying your own ship and the Exo-Knight, which one would you prefer?"
"Oh, that’s a tough one... Let me think... I would say that it depends on the scenario. I would say... If I’m in a situation where speed is required, I would pick my ship. If it’s a situation where firepower is preferred, I’d pick the Exo-Knight."
Hmm... Fair enough.
She looked at me with a grin, "What about you, Tera?"
I tapped my chin thoughtfully, "I guess my answer is the same in the sense that it would depend on the situation. But it also depends on the type of Exo-Knight that I have. The Verlandi is pretty versatile I suppose, it does have firepower and speed and can even function as an independent ship as well... So it’s in the centre for all its stats but that also means it doesn’t really excel in anything. If I’m getting an Exo-Knight, I would look for one that would excel at a particular thing and use it when the situation requires something that is within those parameters."
"Ehehehe~ As expected of Tera~ Anyway, what are you up to?"
"I was just on the way to make lunch. Like I said, I only came here to pick up ingredients I need since this station is lacking some things that I--"
I was interrupted by the sound of footsteps coming towards us and I turned to see Anthony walking up to us alongside a few other test pilots.
He approached us with a grim look on his face before jabbing a finger in my direction, "What are you trying to do?"
I was genuinely confused by his question and raised an eyebrow at him, "What do you mean?"
"You want to show off that badly, huh? Are you really sure you’re not a spy from some other company sent here to ruin things?"
I blinked, "What?"
He gestured with his index and middle finger towards his eyes before pointing at me, "We’re watching you. Don’t think we’re dumb here, we know what you’re trying to do. The moment you slip up, we’ll be there. You better watch your back."
He then walked away while the test pilots that were accompanying him shot me looks of disdain before they also walked away.
Ok... So... First of all... We’re still in the docking arm of the station which is basically quite far away from any place else of interest on the station.
That means he couldn’t have just decided to walk up to me because he was passing by, he literally led a whole bunch of people across the station from the hangar just to come here to tell me to watch my back?
I’m honestly more confused than I was threatened here...
I turned to my girls, "What was that about?"
Amber chuckled, "Oh don’t mind him. Him and the other test pilots are just incredibly salty. They only just found out that they aren’t the best of the best like they thought they were. First, you beat them in Exo-Knight piloting, next you even beat them in ship piloting too. Just so you know, they were keeping score on how many insurgent ships they managed to kill inside the station and you beat a lot of them with your Verlandi."
"Isn’t that because I started shooting earlier?"
"They also took that into account and had a separate tracker for counting the ships you took down when they joined the battle. You were still ahead of them even with that."
I raised an eyebrow, "I’m pretty sure you took down more than me... And I had Yumiko as my gunner too."
"True, but they’re upset with all of us as a whole. So it doesn’t help that I’m ahead of them too~"
Great... Jealousy is something I don’t want to deal with so I hope nothing happens then...
Anyway, who wants lunch?
