"Sir, what is the purpose of this gathering?" inquired Jie Wan, one of Wang Jian's most trusted advisors. Despite being in his fifties, he possessed the vigorous appearance of a man barely past his prime.
Jie Wan wielded immense power within Wang Jian's court; in the past, the Young Master would rarely act without his guidance. In fact, the very suggestion to have Su Xian begin her Cultivation had originated from him.
"I want the warriors of those insurgent tribes captured," Wang Jian commanded coldly.
"...My Lord, would it not be unwise to seize members of these clans right now? Our ranks are depleted, and the promised reinforcements have yet to arrive," Jie Wan cautioned.
"Indeed, Milord. Sir Jie speaks the truth. Acting recklessly against these tribes would be a grave error. It is better to wait for the reinforcements, label the tribes as rebels, and then use our combined strength to annihilate them instantly."
Listening to their counsel, Wang Jian’s expression grew somber.
On the surface, their strategy seemed flawless. However, Wang Jian was acutely aware that Lin Feng would launch an assault very soon. By the time those reinforcements showed up, it would likely be far too late.
A precise counter-strategy was required, but formulating one was impossible without gathering exhaustive intelligence on Lin Feng first.
"...Exert every connection you possess. I want a representative from every single tribe brought to this mansion by nightfall," Wang Jian ordered with absolute authority.
He strode out of the hall, leaving a heavy, overbearing pressure in his wake. His advisors stood frozen, stunned by the dramatic transformation in his personality.
With expressions of resignation, they departed the hall to execute the command. Fortunately, the objective was not overly difficult to achieve.
Using their various contacts within the Zhenguan Region, they successfully apprehended nine tribal warriors—three from each of the primary clans.
Wang Jian then instructed his men to conduct rigorous interrogations to extract every detail regarding these tribal groups.
As the sun set, Wang Jian sat with three voluminous dossiers that held all the vital information he sought.
It appeared that several warriors from the Miracle Angel Tribe had witnessed Wang Jian’s men brutally Disciplining Lin Feng. Among those witnesses was the tribe leader’s only daughter. Consumed by pity for Lin Feng's plight, she had insisted on saving him.
Once Wang Jian had departed with Su Xian, these warriors moved in to rescue Lin Feng and spirit him away to their sanctuary for treatment.
Wang Jian’s assassins arrived shortly after to finish the job, but they were swiftly cut down by the tribal warriors, who then vanished into their hidden base.
While at the hideout, the Miracle Angel Tribe utilized rare medicinal herbs to treat Lin Feng’s injuries.
These herbs triggered a miraculous reaction, causing Lin Feng’s body to radiate a blinding light. Though the glow eventually faded, the Elders of the Miracle Angel Tribe detected a majestic and noble aura emanating from him.
They soon made a shocking discovery: Lin Feng possessed the Holy Light Physique.
The Miracle Angel Tribe was a small sect that worshipped the Light God. Any warrior born with the Light Element was considered blessed, but a Holy Light Physique was on another level entirely.
This meant Lin Feng was a Holy Son!
Han Lei, the leader of the Miracle Angel Tribe, immediately announced this revelation to the entire community.
Consequently, Lin Feng’s status within the tribe skyrocketed overnight.
Before long, the tribe’s entire treasury of resources was placed at Lin Feng’s disposal, fueling his rapid growth in Cultivation.
The leader went so far as to betroth his daughter, Han Xifeng, to the youth. Possessing the purest Angel Bloodline and the most potent Light Element among her kin, she was deemed the perfect partner for Lin Feng.
Word of this Holy Son eventually reached the other two tribes. Fearing a shift in the balance of power, they formed an alliance to launch a clandestine strike against the Miracle Angel Tribe.
Lin Feng distinguished himself during the ensuing conflict by slaying numerous foes. However, the Miracle Angel Tribe suffered devastating casualties and was forced to retreat into hiding.
Lin Feng, Han Lei, Han Xifeng, and thirty survivors managed to escape, though they were too battered and broken to continue fighting.
While in hiding, Lin Feng stumbled upon a classic stroke of luck: a legendary sword sealed deep within a cavern.
After overcoming several trials, Lin Feng claimed the blade, causing his Cultivation to surge. He successfully broke through to the Spirit Realm.
The weapon was the Nine Heavenly Lightning Sword, a blade rumored to command nine different colors of lightning.
Currently, Lin Feng could only manifest the Golden Lightning. Yet, even this initial stage was terrifyingly potent; a single Golden Lightning Strike could injure even an Origin Realm expert.
Wielding the Nine Heavenly Lightning Sword, Lin Feng subdued the other two clans and earned their submission.
The Crimson Mammoth Warriors followed a simple creed: since Lin Feng defeated them in single combat, they owed him their eternal fealty.
Meanwhile, the Night Dagger Clan surrendered after seeing the other two tribes fall in line. Their expertise lay in stealth and assassination; in a direct confrontation, they were the weakest of the three.
Knowing of Lin Feng’s engagement to Han Xifeng, the Crimson Mammoth and Night Dagger leaders feared he would favor the Miracle Angel Tribe. To secure their own influence, they selected the most stunning beauties from their respective clans and tasked them with seducing the Holy Son.
These women had been raised and refined by their tribes since birth. When called upon to serve their people, they did not hesitate.
Furthermore, they found Lin Feng quite appealing, given his handsome features, high standing, and immense power.
Naive in the ways of romance, Lin Feng struggled to understand his own heart.
Eventually, he decided that rather than choosing one, it was better to simply take them all into his embrace.
Wang Jian sighed as he finished reading the reports. The situation was unfolding almost exactly as he had suspected.
"Release the captives," Wang Jian commanded his subordinates.
He was referring, of course, to the tribal members who had been seized earlier that day.
Simultaneously, deep within the Lush Stream Timberland, the leaders of the three tribes had convened for a summit.
The agenda was simple: determine the best time to strike at Wang Jian’s territory.
By capturing their kin in the Zhenguan Region, Wang Jian had crossed a line that could not be ignored.
However, before the meeting could end, news arrived that Wang Jian had already set the prisoners free.
The tribal leaders were baffled, unable to fathom why their enemy would release his leverage so easily.
None of them were foolish enough to believe Wang Jian had suddenly developed a conscience.
Their suspicions were confirmed when the released members finally returned to their tribes; only then did the true nature of Wang Jian’s ploy become clear.
