Su Chen navigates a harsh storm using the Wind Absorbing Pearl, while sorting through numerous treasures from the Emperor’s Treasure Abyss. He learns about the different tiers of Imperial Weapons and discovers one Spirit Imperial Weapon among the haul: a seemingly ordinary sword named Zhan Cang. After channeling a vast amount of Mysterious Qi into it, the sword undergoes a dramatic transformation, becoming a fearsome, reborn weapon.

"Not bad, how is it?" Jiuyou inquired with a touch of pride.

"What a divine weapon, this is truly an Imperial Soldier!" Su Chen’s eyes sparkled with excitement as he licked the corner of his mouth. This is like adding wings to a tiger, isn't it?

"However, Young Master Su, I would advise against using this sword to replace your Ancient Dust Sword," Jiuyou added.

"Why is that?" Su Chen seemed slightly puzzled. This sword is undeniably far more potent than the Ancient Dust Sword, so why shouldn't he use it?

"Do you not feel that you are more suited to a heavy sword?" Jiuyou posed a counter-question.

Su Chen fell into silence.

Indeed!

He did have a preference for heavy swords.

And this Zhan Cang Sword, in contrast, was not a heavy sword; rather, it was exceedingly sharp and as slender as a cicada's wing.

"Will it just go to waste?" Su Chen felt a twinge of reluctance.

"Who said it would be wasted?" Jiuyou scoffed. "The Zhan Cang Sword’s slender form means its greatest strengths lie in its sharpness, its unpredictability, and its agility. What if, using the Zhan Cang Sword as the primary weapon and the other ninety-eight swords as auxiliary ones, it could form an Imperial Soldier Formation even more terrifying than the Bone Formation?"

Upon hearing Jiuyou's words, Su Chen could no longer contain his surging excitement!

Absolutely!!!

Now, having secured all the treasures from the Emperor’s Treasure Abyss, including over a hundred Imperial Soldiers, it so happened that nine out of ten of these weapons were swords.

To be precise, among the Imperial Soldiers he acquired, there were indeed a hundred swords.

"It seems feasible to establish a sword formation using ninety-nine Imperial Soldiers!" Su Chen was utterly captivated by the idea.

Though the Bone Formation was formidable, each needle bone was a precious commodity. Yet, in reality, each needle bone was, at best, equivalent to a half-step Imperial Weapon.

This was vastly inferior to genuine Imperial Soldiers.

If a sword formation composed of ninety-nine Imperial Soldiers could truly be realized, the might it would unleash would be unimaginable!

Then, layering the first level of the Strange Change Formation on top of that... tsk tsk...

Contemplating this, he took action.

Su Chen, with glistening lips, selected all the swords from the collection of over a hundred weapons within the Emperor’s Treasure Abyss.

A total of 103 swords were gathered.

Subsequently, he discarded five that did not meet his satisfaction.

This left 98 swords.

Adding the Zhan Cang Sword brought the total to exactly 99 swords.

"With Zhan Cang as the main sword and the rest as auxiliaries," Su Chen murmured to himself before directly communicating with the Chaotic Thunder Spirit. "Reforge all 98 Imperial Soldier swords, excluding the Zhan Cang. Utilize Divine Thunder, Divine Demon Ghost Fire, and Chaotic Currents for the refining process. Shape them identically to the Zhan Cang."

"Understood." The Chaotic Thunder Spirit accepted the daunting task without hesitation.

Recasting Imperial Soldiers would be deemed an almost insurmountable feat by others, a laughable impossibility. Were Imperial Soldiers so easily reforged? Did they take a Great Emperor for a mere fool?

But Su Chen possessed the capability.

This was due to the transcendent ranks of the Chaotic Thunder Spirit, the Divine Demon Ghost Fire, and the Chaotic Currents, all of which surpassed even that of a Great Emperor.

Of course, a significant contributing factor was the Cloud Imperial Weapon itself. Although also an Imperial Soldier, it was not exceptionally potent.

Had it been a Spirit Imperial Weapon, neither the current Su Chen nor the existing Chaotic Divine Thunder and its kin could have possibly reforged it.

"Approximately how long will this endeavor take?" Su Chen inquired.

"One month," the Chaotic Thunder Spirit responded, noting the extended time required to process 98 Imperial Soldiers.

"Very well." Su Chen nodded in agreement. "Then, I shall await the results after a month has passed."

Su Chen’s anticipation caused him to swallow audibly.

"During this coming month, I shall temporarily suspend my hunting activities, focusing instead on comprehending the Six Segment Peak Sword Rhyme up to the Seven Stages!" Su Chen firmly resolved.

A fundamental chasm existed between the sixth and seventh stages.

In truth, a significant disparity lay between each stage of the Sword Rhyme.

Su Chen had remained at the Six Segment Peak Sword Rhyme for an extended period, sensing he was agonizingly close to achieving the Seven Stages Sword Rhyme.

Yet, that infinitesimal gap proved stubbornly difficult to breach.

"Especially now that I have obtained this stone. It should provide me with the crucial opportunity to ascend to the Seven Stages Sword Rhyme, shouldn't it? The Di Family and the Emperor’s Treasure Abyss have bestowed upon me such magnificent surprises; I truly don't know how to express my gratitude." Su Chen idly toyed with a peculiar stone in his hand.

This stone was no ordinary object.

The stone itself bore a distinct sword-like shape.

Moreover, its color was extraordinarily enigmatic, appearing black at first glance, then shifting to purple upon closer inspection, and displaying a shade of blue from another angle... it even exhibited other hues depending on the perspective.

In essence, it was an indescribably peculiar stone.

Reflecting further, he realized he must also express his thanks to Jiuyou. Jiuyou’s inherent strength had never been particularly overwhelming; its power had not bolstered his own considerably, unlike Old Dragon or Xi, in battles for an immensely long time.

This was primarily because even if its power were borrowed, the enhancement achieved would not be substantial.

Yet, for Su Chen, Jiuyou is the object of his deepest appreciation, and also the most crucial aspect of his life.

To begin with, Jiuyou’s vast repository of knowledge is simply unparalleled.

It far eclipses that of Old Dragon, and even Lian Xi falls short when compared to Jiuyou’s profound insight.

Consider, for instance, this very stone.

Had Jiuyou not revealed, "This is a Sword Heart Stone!", Su Chen might have easily passed it by without a second thought.

In truth, Su Chen posits that the entire Di Family, across countless generations of patriarchs spanning millions of years, may have handled this stone, yet likely no one comprehended its true nature?

"The Sword Heart Stone. It is a unique material utilized for capturing Sword Rhymes. Sword Heart Stones are exceedingly rare and valuable; even during the Ancient Era, only the most supreme existences could attain possession of such a stone," Jiuyou elucidated deliberately. "Consequently, any Sword Rhymes meticulously inscribed within Sword Heart Stones invariably represent the pinnacle of Sword Rhyme attainments."

This particular Sword Heart Stone undeniably possesses the potential to both inspire and guide Su Chen.

Su Chen is determined to forge his own unique sword path, one defined by absolute dominance and a supreme Sword Rhyme, thus he remains unwilling to accept any other Sword Rhyme legacies.

However, as a supplementary reference for inspiration, such an offering is perfectly acceptable.

Given that he is but a mere sliver away from achieving the Seven Stages Sword Rhyme, in such critical circumstances, referencing the insights within a Sword Heart Stone bolsters Su Chen’s resolve to make that final, crucial leap.

At this precise juncture.

"Di Jie has also arrived," the Iceflame Vermilion Bird communicated.

"Oh? So they indeed came?" Su Chen’s reaction was not one of surprise, having foreseen this outcome: "Iceflame, can that old schemer Di Jie detect my subterranean movements?"

"He is incapable of knowing," Iceflame responded with unwavering certainty, emitting a dismissive snort. "Within the turbulent confines of the Primeval River Storm, unless an individual possesses an exceptionally potent Divine Soul, far exceeding your own capabilities, could they possibly conduct an accurate probe using their Divine Soul. Di Jie most certainly does not possess such formidable spiritual might. Thus, he is compelled to search exhaustively for you in a conventional manner. Furthermore, he holds no suspicion that you would be concealed underground, nor would he conceive of searching below; even if Di Jie were to descend into the earth, he would undoubtedly sustain injuries."

"That brings me great reassurance," Su Chen remarked with a light chuckle, preparing to commence the absorption of the Sword Heart Stone. To achieve this, a secure and undisturbed environment is absolutely paramount.

"Be at ease, for my senses now encompass the entirety of the Mother River’s upstream expanse. Should anyone entertain the reckless notion of venturing underground to seek you out, and should they approach your vicinity, I shall promptly issue a warning," the Iceflame Vermilion Bird declared with a sense of pride. "In moments of dire peril, I can even employ certain Divine Skills to momentarily conceal your presence, should the situation demand it."
