Unscientific Beast Taming Chapter 1960: Beast Taming Final Chapter (1)

Previously on Unscientific Beast Taming...
Two hundred years after Shi Yu's existence was erased from the universe, Baby Ginseng attained cosmic level through the Heart of the Heavenly Emperor and transmitted vital nourishing power to aid his contract with the universe. Struggling against the cosmic will's interference, Shi Yu recalled the crucial step of fusing his consciousness with all parallel universes of the 11th era, facing intense space-time vibrations in the process. Chi Tong sacrificed itself to shield him from the cosmic resistance, enabling Shi Yu to successfully complete the fusion and become the new holder of the universe.

Does the universe possess awareness?

Does the will of the cosmos truly exist?

Is it mere instinct at work, or is there a hidden force scheming against ordinary folks from the shadows?

This timeless question has puzzled experts across countless ages, all desperate to uncover its truth.

Yet starting from this day, a temporary answer has emerged for this enduring mystery.

“Wake up, wake up.”

Moreover, the cosmic will itself could fall into slumber.

Amid the darkness, Shi Yu sensed a hand patting his cheek. He cracked his eyes open a bit and found himself resting on the thigh of a sword spirit with fiery red hair and eyes. Detecting a familiar aura, he murmured, “Chi Tong…”

“It seems my plan worked.” Shi Yu let out a relieved breath as he slowly came to his senses.

Thus, even the cosmic will could grow weary and drift off to sleep. At this moment, Shi Yu had become the fresh cosmic will.

“Are we at the profoundest layer of the consciousness realm?” Struggling to rise, Shi Yu perceived his boundless strength, feeling as though he could dictate the universe's fate with a mere whim.

This sensation thrilled Shi Yu deeply. Yet, the greatest joy for him was that he had truly rescued Chi Tong.

“Chi Tong, how are you feeling? Everything okay?”

“Here, let me check on you.”

“Snap out of it.” Chi Tong prodded Shi Yu insistently, “The key task remains unfinished. Remember to mend the universe.”

Chi Tong felt utterly drained. Sure enough, sticking with Shi Yu had been the wise choice. Without that, this fellow would keep being absent-minded and unreliable.

“Right, fixing the universe.” Shi Yu froze abruptly. He suddenly remembered how the God of Destruction had afflicted even the neighboring parallel universe with a curse.

Upon assuming the role of the universe's will, Shi Yu discovered that the cosmos truly lacked any awareness.

That resistance amounted to nothing more than an innate law reaction.

A universe exhibiting such reflexive behaviors could resort to basic tactics, such as a system reboot, to briefly offset certain harms. Across extended periods, particular species might arise to aid its recovery, though that process would demand far too much time.

However, now that he had taken control as the universe's overseer, Shi Yu could employ milder, more refined approaches to alter various circumstances.

“Let’s handle it as a team.” Shi Yu beckoned Chi Tong over and added, “Once we finish, we’ll slip back quietly and surprise Eleven and the rest.”

“It’s probably been ages…” “Sure thing~”

Within the Milky Way.

A young man dressed in panda attire, sporting a tiny sword pendant around his neck, made his return after what felt like an eternity. He materialized in the star-filled void, his face showing an odd look.

He faintly heard a known voice summoning him.

“Shi Yu, help me out…”

The call originated from an immense distance, traversing myriad dimensions. Still, Shi Yu pinpointed the speaker right away.

He cleared his throat awkwardly and warped across, positioning himself beyond a particular era ruin. Penetrating space and time, he peered within.

There, a dusty feline was ensnared in the ruin, unable to escape despite all efforts.

Deep inside the ruins.

Regret consumed the gem cat. Why had boredom driven it to venture into the ruins solo? Right now, its pleas fell on deaf ears. Likely, it had to bide its time until Baby Ginseng or others realized its absence and mounted a rescue.

The gem cat had invoked every possible name it could recall in desperate pleas for deliverance.

“Anybody will do. Hurry, someone please. It’s been a whole century!!” The gem cat teetered on the edge of tears. For 100 years, no one had spotted it. Cursed luck.

“Teacher Ying, whatever possessed you to come here by yourself?” Outside, Shi Yu grinned first, then effortlessly shattered the ruins, allowing the gem cat to reconnect with the external realm.

Meanwhile.

As the gem cat detected the ruin's disintegration and its growing link to the outer world, it stood dumbfounded, joy flooding its gaze.

“That sound—Shi Yu??”

Thrilled beyond belief, the gem cat exclaimed, “Is that really Shi Yu?”

“Yes, it’s me.” Shi Yu descended gently before the gem cat and asked, “Why explore the ruins without summoning Eleven or the others?”

“Hold on, you really… So, you’ve taken on the universe’s mantle?!” The gem cat brimmed with shock, delight, and mixed feelings. It never imagined that after endless wishes, the most improbable savior would show up.

“Chirp!” Spotting Teacher Gem Cat, Chi Tong shifted into bird form and perched on Shi Yu’s shoulder, gazing at her with delight.

“Chi Tong!!!…” The gem cat girl sobbed, like reuniting with long-lost kin.

“Wow, you’ve all been away for so long…”

Shi Yu let out a soft sigh. Indeed, much time had passed. Unless he was mistaken, he and Chi Tong had devoted a full 100,000 years to it. Thus, it had been 100,000 years since he last saw Teacher Gem Cat.

Thank goodness Teacher Gem Cat possessed such resilience. Though still capped at super divine peak and short of cosmic level, 100,000 years meant little to her.

Just a quick snooze.

“We’ve only just triumphed and come back,” Shi Yu explained. “Yeah, your wish hit us right away.”

“Wu wu wu wu wu,” the gem cat wailed. “I’ve missed you all terribly.”

“So, you haven’t run into Eleven and the gang yet?”

“Nope,” Shi Yu replied. “I planned to surprise them individually. Slipped out on my own without alerting them. How’d you end up like this?”

“Never thought that despite my power, some ruins could still confine me.” Tears welled in the gem cat’s eyes. “All I want is to ascend to cosmic level. Why’s it so tough…”

Over those 100,000 years, the gem cat’s mindset had slowly shifted. In her tedium, she at last yearned to reach cosmic level. Her aim, of course, centered on a gem-type cosmic treasure to achieve breakthrough via evolution.
