Unholy Player Chapter 532 Let's Talk

Liora brought her staff crashing down on the spikes of the Rank 4 Spark, hitting them just in time to prevent the shots.

BOOOM!

The collision shattered the spikes right away. The crimson Spark weakened in its legs, tumbling down as its enormous frame folded like its joints were knocked apart.

The earth under their feet didn't merely tremble. It fractured, fissures tearing through the terrain while clouds of dust and debris flew up. The ground surged like a complete

seismic event ripping across it, with power intense enough to alter the entire scenery.

Sevrak along with the remaining two Blood Path disciples weren't immune. They battled to maintain their stance on the fracturing soil as the blast wave surged over their forms, transforming stability into a fierce struggle.

"I figured the Outer Region was merely a weakling's playground." Arvyn yelled in anger, bearing the quakes while jumping over the disintegrating ground to dodge an emerging chasm, her footwear just grazing the rim.

Had it been solely Zephan, they might have overlooked it. A single outlier wouldn't shatter the pattern.

Yet it went beyond Zephan alone. Throgar had demonstrated the same. Now this Earthshaker appeared bearing ridiculously superior attributes and ruinous abilities, compelling their perception of the area to fracture until they confronted the query they'd dodged earlier.

Were they supplied with misleading details from the start? Perhaps the Outer Region concealed strength beyond the feeble after all?

"There's definitely something odd happening around here." Kaelor remained stationed in place. The section of terrain encircling him shifted minimally, protected by a hidden barrier that allowed only faint vibrations. The blast wave failed to touch him, and the atmosphere in that spot stayed remarkably calm.

Sevrak fared the poorest of the trio. His Rank 4 Spark lay smashed against the dirt, out cold. Sevrak nearly toppled over himself; his form was nearly wrecked by the tremor.

He clawed for a solid piece of earth, fighting to avoid tumbling into the ever-spreading rifts that yawned, broadened, and caved shut. The borders crumbled under him abruptly, rendering it tough to locate firm footing.

"Wasn't this Spark a bit too feeble?" Liora withdrew and whispered via her enormous maw, eyeing the demolished spikes and the rattled surroundings.

She anticipated a Blood Path Spark to terrify, and Sevrak's fresh Spark belonged to Blood Path as well. However, it evidently fell short of the Blood Dragon's caliber.

That made sense, naturally. The Blood Dragon was altered to Blood Path via a genuine artifact, whereas the rhino stemmed from a Bloodline Talent. Its enhanced might simply couldn't match the authentic version.

"No way, this can't be real." Sevrak commenced regenerating once more and attempted to stand. The disparity in might proved intolerable. His denial etched fury onto his features as he compelled his physique to comply.

He mustered all the power at his disposal. Ripped skin mended itself. Wings started sprouting anew, and fresh layers grew over bare bones.

Suddenly, another pressure descended from overhead. Throgar's anti-gravity ability surged again, nullifying his attempts effortlessly and holding him fast. It drove him into the soil with force sufficient to expel his air, halting his ascent abruptly.

Flat against the dirt, immobilized, shame searing within, a silvery gleam sparked before him.

Zephan positioned himself there, his golden blade encased in silver lightning flows, sparks weaving along the edge like vital strands. He lifted it overhead, gazed downward at Sevrak, and uttered in a toneless manner.

"Nobody inquired about your opinion."

He swung the sword downward.

Slim electric slashes erupted across Sevrak's form, streaks materializing quicker than his sight could follow, each burning as it carved.

Sevrak failed to respond swiftly. There was zero opportunity to halt it, no escape. Merely on the final slash did realization of his fate dawn. Pinned to the earth, eyes bulging, he persisted in denial while his body commenced collapsing.

"This is ridiculous..." His final utterance escaped as his mouth began fracturing. Then his entire frame disintegrated into tiny fragments, becoming minced remains on the surface. The divides were so precise they seemed illusory for an instant.

Zephan didn't cease there. He directed his sword at the mound of meat, unleashing a silver blaze from the edge that engulfed the chunks and incinerated them to cinders, the blaze flaring vividly as it devoured all. He halted solely after confirming no trace of blood lingered.

Only then did he retreat a step. His eyes turned toward the other pair of Blood Path adherents, his tone retaining the same serenity from his initial arrival as he addressed them.

"You desired discussion? We can discuss now."

Earlier, Zephan observed the change. The instant they spotted Soulforge Throgar's extra head, the pair faltered.

But with Sevrak still breathing, dialogue proved futile. His animosity shone too brightly, capable of derailing any parley before it gained traction. For any exchange to occur, that barrier required elimination first. Thus, Zephan eliminated it.

With Sevrak genuinely deceased this round, Zephan gained space to address the issue verbally.

"You've slain one of our own, and now you suggest resolving it through words?" Arvyn appeared irritated. Still, Sevrak's demise didn't appear to unsettle her deeply.

Kaelor showed scant concern for his ally's passing either. He paid no heed to those nearby, fixating solely on a single presence as he inquired. "Gemnarch, could you explain why you're obstructing our way?"

His manner stayed courteous and deferential. Yet no reply emerged.

Soulforge Throgar continued standing motionless, both visages expressionless, gazing ahead as if ensnared in a daze.

"Because he belongs to our side," Liora replied in his stead. "He guards these territories against dangers like yourselves."

During her words, her frame started contracting once more. The golden staff diminished alongside her, linked to the transformation. In moments, she reverted to her 3-meter-tall (10 feet) ape shape, designed for agility and quick responses should tensions flare anew.

Kaelor couldn't grasp the Gemnarch's muteness, as though his query went unheard, but he opted against expressing it. He suppressed the unease and faced Liora.

"We harbor no desire to endanger these territories." A hint of his prior civility faded, yet his speech held rationality. "We've arrived to reclaim an item that rightfully is ours."

"They're pursuing a treasure," Zephan stated, advancing nearer to Liora while keeping vigilance, his blade poised. "Known as the Heart of the Blood Palace."

"That name rings no bells for me." Liora cocked her simian head.

Kaelor observed Liora and her companions' ignorance of the term, prompting him to elaborate. "Intelligence placed it somewhere in the region forward. We merely require permission to hunt for it. Once done, we'll depart, success or failure notwithstanding."

Outwardly, his plea seemed fair. They sought only to scour, and he vowed a peaceful exit absent the prize.

Nevertheless, the site he aimed to probe wasn't one Liora or Zephan could permit casually.

Liora shot a look at Zephan, concern flickering over her countenance. "Has Adyr returned?"

Zephan responded with a subtle head shake.

They hadn't received the full story, that Adyr rested in isolation, slumbering to restore his vitality. Rather, Henry claimed Adyr handled "family" matters elsewhere.

Upon hearing "family," neither probed further. They skipped inquiries on the nature or location, embracing the tale outright without doubt of deceit.

That fabrication now trapped them. The territory was Adyr's domain, demanding his approval for choices.

Should Adyr consent to the Blood Path group's nearness to the settlement, conflict might cease sans violence. If he denied and called for combat, they'd embrace it gladly, provided it stemmed from his decree.

As Liora and Zephan pondered their course, a tiny drone approached. "What's that thing?" Arvyn observed the airborne device with evident intrigue, amazed by its incongruity.

Kaelor, though, stiffened instantly upon sighting it. His vivid red eyes fixed on the drone, astonishment surging through their shine as awareness struck abruptly. "Why would an object like that appear here?"

He appeared more astonished than upon discovering a Gemnarch present in this zone.

So astounded that he fixated on the aerial item for a whole second before whipping his gaze to Liora and Zephan, his voice turning gentle and nearly beseeching. "Does a Creator reside here?"
