Unholy Player Chapter 504 Helping to Awaken a Bloodline Talent

Cannibal gratefully received a delivery of canned food and sweets, savoring the taste after a long period of deprivation. Adyr completed his evolution, finding his enhanced wings more powerful. He was then intercepted by a Human drone and a hoverjet carrying Dalin Ravencourt and an STF squad. Dalin questioned his new appearance and confirmed he had ranked up to Rank 4, realizing he was responsible for the destruction of the forest they were investigating. Adyr asked to be taken to headquarters.

"Sure," Dalin answered, though the hoverjet was already pivoting under Adyr’s command. A faint vibration thrummed through the cabin as the vessel altered its course.

How could one man ascend so rapidly in both status and strength? Dalin mused, noting how the entire chain of command had shifted the very moment Adyr stepped inside.

She reflected on his identity before this life of Practitioners and the Beyond had taken hold.

Once a nameless youth without even a family title, Adyr now stood at the pinnacle of the Human race. His words were treated as divine mandates, obeyed even by elite soldiers conditioned to follow only official military protocols.

The realization caused her to exhale a soft sigh of comfort.

She felt a sense of relief recalling their initial encounter. At the time, she had nearly brushed him off as an insignificant man with no status.

She was grateful she had chosen the correct path, aligning herself with him rather than making a fatal error. It was the kind of mistake that offered no second chances—the sort of blunder that would be dealt with swiftly and never forgiven.

Whether it was that epiphany or the intoxicating, subtle fragrance now permeating the cabin’s recycled air, she felt certain of one truth.

Following Adyr was undoubtedly the right choice.

As Dalin was lost in these reflections, Adyr watched her in silence. He was gauging the impact of his new stat on her and the nearby soldiers, observing their involuntary micro-expressions with his usual precision.

The way they gazed at him reminded him of a bee colony mesmerized by their queen. They were drawn in by an invisible pheromonal pull, yielding to him without understanding the source of their obedience.

"By the way." Adyr shifted in his seat, adopting a more casual, relaxed posture. "Has anyone managed to awaken a bloodline talent yet?"

He was well aware that such a development would have been reported to him instantly. Nevertheless, he raised the topic to test their current depth of insight.

Dalin peered at him, searching for the motive behind his sudden inquiry. "No. We aren't even sure of the awakening process, or if it's even possible for us." She stood and moved to the seat beside him, instinctively lowering her voice despite the cramped quarters.

While Adyr had explained the nature and mechanics of bloodline talents, he had never revealed the method to trigger one.

Part of his hesitation stemmed from uncertainty; he wasn't sure if the Human race was even capable of such a feat, or if he was the sole anomaly. The other reason was more calculated. He had no intention of sharing such power until he deemed they had truly earned it.

Today, however, he decided to provide a clue.

"My Grace bloodline talent actually evolved from the Cooking talent," he remarked offhandedly, as if discussing the weather.

"Cooking?" Dalin’s eyebrows shot up in genuine surprise. She understood that bloodline talents were superior evolutions of standard ones, but she never imagined divine healing light could originate from something as mundane as culinary skill.

Adyr gave a single nod before clarifying. "I attempted to advance my talent by preparing meals with my own experimental recipes. I persisted with the testing until the fundamental result shifted."

He refrained from sharing the specific details of those unique recipes. Nor did he mention that those meals had been used to manipulate the thoughts of his family and Boy.

Even without those dark details, Dalin seemed to have a breakthrough. Her gaze sharpened as the logic began to click into place.

"So, creativity is the key to awakening a bloodline talent?"

"And a change in perspective," Adyr confirmed. "A unique one. You won't reach it by focusing strictly on the act of cooking. It isn't about the food itself. It’s about the effect it has on the consumer. The way it alters them."

He spoke freely despite the presence of the STF soldiers. This was information of immense value, yet he discarded it like a casual seed, almost as if it were a test.

Dalin seemed indifferent to the extra ears in the room. Her mind was entirely occupied by the logic she had just grasped.

Adyr allowed her a moment of silence to process the information. Then, he inquired, "What is your current Level 4 talent?"

Dalin showed a moment of reluctance, but eventually answered. "I possess two. The first is Marksmanship, and the second..." She hesitated, glancing at the other soldiers in the cabin. She was clearly loath to reveal her primary strengths in front of subordinates.

Under Adyr’s cold, steady stare, she finally confessed. "The other is Appraisal."

Adyr felt a flicker of genuine shock. Possessing two Level 4 talents was a remarkable feat, particularly for someone like Dalin, who was barely eighteen and lacked extensive life experience.

Furthermore, her second talent was Appraisal at Level 4.

That was a skill usually reserved for those with decades of experience, such as veteran traders, collectors, or master jewelers.

Even Adyr lacked that specific talent. In his previous life, he had no need for a skill that calculated monetary worth; he had always measured value through different lenses.

Is her talent this advanced because she comes from a family of merchants?

Ravencourt was not only the premier logistics firm on the planet but was also deeply rooted in various trade sectors. Perhaps such a talent was ingrained in her bloodline.

After a brief pause, Adyr asked, "I assume you've been trying to rank up Appraisal by only examining inanimate objects?"

Dalin nodded, but then the weight of his question hit her. Her expression transformed. "Are you suggesting I should try to appraise living things? Like people?"

That was exactly the nudge Adyr intended to give. By broadening her scope and thinking outside the box, she had finally arrived at the correct conclusion.
