Lawrence betrays Pulos, shooting him and ordering his men to leave him to die where Andrew will find him. Meanwhile, Guang, Ashton, and Yinhai reconcile after a misunderstanding. Guang reveals his plan to use Elsa to lure out an enemy.

"Wait, you know how to knit?" Mian asked with a chuckle.

"Of course, this is one of my recent hobbies," he replied.

"Don't be shocked; your dad is trying different things these days, which is actually really good," Mian commented. Ming, sitting beside them, added, "And the most impressive part is, he is so good at it."

"I am good at everything, honey, whether it's knitting or impressing you," Singtan declared with pride.

"Impressing mom?" Qiang chuckled. "But you both had a flash marriage?"

Ming nodded her head and smiled, "We did have a flash marriage."

"It must have been so much fun. I mean, falling in love after getting married," Mian exclaimed.

"Exactly. Usually, most of the fluffy and sweet moments happen when two people are dating. After you get married, things are exciting, but it's nothing like the initial feelings," Qiang explained.

Clearing his throat, Singtan announced, "Kids, let me make myself clear here. I was in love with your mom even before we met. So she was the one who fell in love with me after we got married, and not the other way around."

"Wait, I remember dad telling me this. You both were in the same college, but mom never noticed you," Mian chuckled.

"Yes, it's her fault for not noticing such a handsome man," he scoffed.

"Well, maybe she didn't notice because there were many handsome men around her, right mom?" Yushen grinned, sitting beside Ming. "I saw your picture when you were in college, and damn mom, you were so beautiful."

"Are you trying to say that my wife isn't beautiful anymore?" Singtan frowned.

"What? When did I say that?"

"You just did," he snapped.

Looking at Ming, Yushen complained, "Mom, dad is again bullying me."

Helplessly shaking her head, Qiang sighed, "There you go again. I am not in the mood to deal with this father-son drama again." Getting up, she added, "You guys continue with the bickering, and I will go upstairs for a nap."

"Watch the stairs, sweetheart. Be slow," Singtan instructed.

.....

"What? When did this happen?" Zian inquired.

"I have no idea. My men found him not too far away from the base, which I think is too obvious to be a coincidence," Andrew stated.

Scrunching his brows, Zixin said, "This means Pulos really wanted to tip you about Lawrence's plan."

"And maybe Lawrence found out about it and killed him?" Huang remarked.

"He is not dead." Looking at Andrew, Michael explained, "Though he has lost a lot of blood, he is still alive. He has been rushed to the hospital. We should also leave."

"You both should leave first and handle the situation there. If Pulos is really alive, then Lawrence will surely try to get him," Zian stated.

"Only if he finds out he is still alive." Without waiting for their reply, Zixin further explained, "We have to hide Pulos from Lawrence. This is the only way we can keep him safe."

"Zixin is right. Pulos is the only way we can deal with Lawrence. He is very important."

Thinking for a while, Zian instructed, "Michael and Andrew, go to the hospital and handle things there. We will handle other things."

"Alright, we will leave now."

After Andrew and Michael left, Zixin slumped on the couch. "It's all my fault."

"Dude, what are you talking about?" Huang frowned.

"If not for me, you all wouldn't get into this mess. I mean, it was a fight between Lawrence and me; how did all my friends get into this?" Pinching the bridge of his nose, Zixin added, "I shouldn't have let you guys get into this."

"Hey, don't say that. We are all friends, and if friends don't stick together, then who will?" Huang added, sitting beside him. "We got this, okay?"

"Huang is right. Let's finish this together, once and for all."

...

One week later.

Andrew and Linyang's place.

"You look so stressed these days. Is everything okay?" When he nodded his head, Linyang sighed, "Come on now, don't give me that formal nod."

Pulling her into his lap, Andrew explained, "It's about Pulos."

"You are worried about him?"

"Yes, I am, and not just because he is the main source of information right now, but—" Pausing for a while, he explained, "Though he has done many wrong things, I am still very grateful to him. When nobody was there by my side, he was present. When I had no idea how Jennifer and I would survive with our parents gone, he was there to guide and take care of us. And if not for him, maybe I would be long dead, and so would Jenni."

With a helpless shake of his head, he let out a sigh. "So, even if I wished to hate him, it would be impossible. To me, he's the man who rescued both my sister and myself. For that reason alone, a favorable opinion of him will forever remain in my heart."

Cupping his cheeks, she beamed. "This is precisely why I adore you. Your thoughts are so crystal clear and well-organized."

"You don't find me peculiar?"

"Certainly not. Perhaps you are a tad unusual, but that's perfectly fine. Everyone possesses a degree of eccentricity, after all. What is life without a sprinkle of peculiarity, wouldn't you agree?"

Just as Andrew was about to interject, his phone began to vibrate insistently. A quick glance at the caller ID, and he answered promptly.

"Mmm, I'll be there momentarily." After concluding the call, he informed Linyang, "Pulos has awakened."

Ever since Pulos was discovered and swiftly transported to the hospital by Andrew and his associates, he had remained in a comatose state. While the medical staff had succeeded in stemming the bleeding, he had already endured a significant loss of blood. In fact, the physicians had indicated a mere fifty-fifty probability of him regaining consciousness.

Hospital.

Upon Andrew's arrival at the medical facility, a gathering was already in progress.

Noticing Guang standing alongside Ashton, Andrew's brow furrowed. "What brings you here?"

"Honestly, why does everyone keep posing that same question to me? Am I not permitted to be present?" Guang retorted sharply. He had been with Yinhai and Ashton when Zixin delivered the news regarding Pulos, and without a moment's delay, they had hurried to the hospital.
