Turns Out, I’m In A Villain Clan! Chapter 344 The Beast Tide Trembled
Previously on Turns Out, I’m In A Villain Clan!...
Gu Yiming shut his eyes.
RRRWWRRR!
The roar of the Grade-4 beast thundered in his ears, the sound of tearing metal and screaming people blending into one suffocating blur.
The smell of smoke and blood filled his lungs.
He clutched his chest, feeling his heart beat so hard that it hurt.
He couldn't run anymore. Even if he could, there was nowhere to run.
So he simply waited-with his eyes closed.
The ground quaked beneath him. He heard a metallic shriek-the sound of the shelter's gate being ripped apart.
"W-We are dead!"
"God have mercy! Please protect us!
Some screamed while others prayed. But deep down, everyone had accepted their fate.
Then-
Silence!
And in that silence came a strange scent-not smoke, not fire, but fresh, disgusting blood.
He waited for the pain that never came. Seconds passed. Then more.
Gu Yiming's brows knit together. His breathing hitched.
Slowly, he opened his eyes.
And froze.
The Grade-4 Demonic Beast that had been about to crush them was gone.
No-not gone.
It was there, but dead.
Its massive body lay in front of the shelter's gate, its head twisted at an unnatural angle, eyes still wide open.
The beast's horn had been driven straight into the earth, as though forced there by overwhelming strength.
Gu Yiming stared blankly, unable to process what he was seeing.
"What... what happened?"
He whispered, his voice cracking. He didn't dare be loud and attract another Demonic Beast.
He turned to the others huddled behind him-pale faces, trembling hands. Their faces were also full of confusion like they didn't know what had happened.
"Did anyone see what happened?"
No one answered for a long time. They only shook their heads.
Then a faint, hesitant voice spoke up from the back.
"I... I think... I saw someone."
Gu Yiming's gaze snapped toward the speaker-a young boy, bleeding from his knee, eyes dazed.
"A person?"
Gu Yiming asked. "You mean someone saved us?"
The boy swallowed hard.
"I thought I was seeing things... but before the beast died, I... I saw a shadow. Just for a heartbeat. Then the beast's head-it just... fell."
Gu Yiming's eyes widened.
(Could it be... reinforcements?)
A cultivator strong enough to kill a Grade-4 beast in a single instant-that was at least Nascent Soul Realm, maybe even higher!
If that was the case, it would make sense that a group of mortal and low-level cultivators couldn't see him.
Hope that fragile, flickering thing-began to burn again in his chest. "Reinforcements," he breathed. "The reinforcements must have arrived!"
He turned toward the others, his voice trembling but louder now. "We're saved!"
Some began to cry; others laughed weakly, unable to believe it.
"I'll go check," Gu Yiming said, gripping the wall for balance as he stood.
"I'll make sure. If it's really reinforcements, we can bring the wounded out." Several men followed him-hesitant, but desperate to confirm.
They pushed aside the shattered door and stepped out.
The night air was thick with ash. The town they once knew was nearly gone- only burning houses and the remains of Demonic Beasts remained.
"Damn! How powerful is the person who came to help us? He has already killed all the Demonic Beast in the vicinity."
Another spat weakly to the side, eyes darting around the ruined street.
"Killed all of them... just in a short period of time? I don't know any sect or clan that is capable of such a feat."
Obviously, the clan or sect that he was talking about was those in close proximity who they think are the ones who were sent to help them.
The others exchanged uneasy looks. The street was littered with corpses- massive bodies of Demonic Beasts, each one slain cleanly, many with their heads severed in a single strike.
Gu Yiming stepped carefully between them, boots splashing through pools of blood. The metallic tang filled the air.
A long trail of bodies stretched deeper into the street, like a crimson river leading into the heart of the burning town.
They knew that the reinforcement must be at the end of this line of corpse.
They moved cautiously, stepping over the carcasses of beasts that had once reduced their homes to rubble.
Each step they took, the destruction grew worse-walls shredded by claws, stone cracked as though something massive had slammed into it, and blood
splattered across the ruins like paint.
And yet... not a single beast still lived.
Every last one was dead.
Then they saw him.
A young man stood in the middle of the street.
Alone!
Blood dripped from his hands, pooling at his feet. His hair fluttered in the wind
as a wide smile curved his lips.
All around him were corpses of Demonic Beasts, piled high like mounds of
flesh.
Gu Yiming's breath caught.
The man didn't seem to notice them. He stood still for a moment, head tilted
slightly as if listening to something far away.
Then, from the other end of the street, another beast-a massive Grade-4 wolf
-lunged at him.
The man turned his head slightly.
A faint smile curved his lips.
And in the next instant-
Shhhk!
The wolf's head separated cleanly from its body.
It didn't even have time to scream.
Blood sprayed into the firelight like a crimson arc.
The young man laughed softly, the sound carried by the wind-light, almost
casual, yet chilling to the bone.
The remaining beasts, sensing something beyond their comprehension, trembled and began to back away.
The Demonic Beasts that had destroyed everything in Willowshade were now
in terror.
Gu Yiming and the others couldn't help but feel a chill crawl down their spines when they saw such a scene.
(Who is he? Someone that young... with such terrifying power?)
Gu Yuming wondered.
"Up! Look in the sky! It's a Flying Ship! Looks like a powerful clan has come to
help us!"
One of the men pointed upward and shouted.
All of them looked up to find a Flying Ship descending. Judging by its size,
anyone could tell it belonged to a powerful clan.
"That symbol... It's the Bai Clan! The Bai Clan has come to save us! We're safe!"
One of them recognized the symbol.
The Bai Clan-there was no one in the Desolate Heaven Empire who didn't
know that name.
The strongest clan in the Empire. With their involvement, even a Beast Tide of
this scale could be easily handled.
They sighed in relief.
If the reinforcements had been from a neighboring sect or small clan, they
might have still been worried-but it was the Bai Clan.
There was no longer any need for fear.
In the sky, the Bai Clan members watched as Bai Zihan leapt down and
annihilated the Demonic Beasts.
"Should we help the Young Master?"
One of them asked-not out of urgency, since the beasts below were clearly no
threat to Bai Zihan, but out of duty.
After all, it was their heir they were talking about. Bai Zihan's safety was of
utmost priority.
"Let him be," Bai Ren said calmly. "Looks like he was getting bored anyway."
He had already scanned the area for danger; the strongest Demonic Beast present was only Grade-5.
It would take only his breath to kill such a weakling.
"Just let Bai Zihan have his fun!"
