Titan King: Ascension of the Giant Chapter 1693 Oasis of Ambition
Previously on Titan King: Ascension of the Giant...
The continent of Titan. Moonshadow Valley.
Or rather, what used to be Moonshadow Valley. The valley had vanished along with Blackstone City, leaving behind only an empty site.
Delilah's bare feet settled softly onto the barren earth.
"At least it was only Blackstone City that fell," she murmured. "The Black Forest still remains. The succubi's abandoned homeland is still here."
Delilah surveyed the area. Blackstone City had vanished only days ago, yet inch-high grass already carpeted the massive crater left in its wake.
"The familiar scent of our escapades is gone." Memories of Orion flashed through her mind, bringing a warm flush to her cheeks. Sweet, lingering memories.
She pushed the thoughts aside and strode toward the center of the depression. She wasn't here to reminisce. She had a mission.
Reaching the lowest point of the crater, Delilah retrieved a rune-carved conch. She set it on the ground and murmured an incantation. A massive magic circle flared to life around it. Once the array stabilized, she levitated a few feet off the ground and waited.
The conch trembled within the circle. It sputtered, coughing up a handful of sand. Then, as if a dam had burst, a torrent of sand poured from its opening. The flow intensified, transforming the conch into a bottomless font. Within seconds, a sea of rolling yellow sand swallowed the crater, expanding relentlessly outward.
The golden dunes stretched into a Boundless Expanse. Delilah watched as an invisible hand seemed to trace delicate, beautiful ripples across the shifting surface. A sudden wind whipped the ripples into surging waves, transforming the landscape into a turbulent golden ocean.
A violent vortex erupted at the storm's epicenter. The grinding grains hissed and roared—a coarse hymn heralding the desert's master. A lush oasis bloomed outward from the conch. From its emerald shade emerged a woman in a crimson gown, gripping a scepter.
"Surprised to see me forming the welcoming committee?" Delilah touched down beside Soraya, looking her old friend up and down.
"Mmm..." Soraya inhaled deeply, her eyes closed. "The wind carries a familiar scent. The chill of the desert." She paused, savoring the atmosphere. "I never imagined returning to the continent of Titan like this."
Finally satisfied, she opened her eyes and turned to Delilah.
"My friend, didn't you leave for the Abyss?" Soraya smiled, her fingers tracing a loose strand of Delilah's hair. She let her tongue slip out to wet her lips—a barely perceptible, predatory flick.
In certain aspects, they were cut from the same cloth: bold and utterly brazen. It was the foundation of their friendship.
"It had better be different," Delilah replied. "Orion fed my sister and me demigod-grade Banshee Crystals. If we fail to reach the demigod stage now, the others will never let us live it down."
As Soraya played with her hair, Delilah casually reached out and squeezed the other woman's breast. The two fiery women shared a knowing laugh, unfazed by each other's provocations. Arm in arm, they strolled toward the palace rising within the oasis.
"Do you regret giving up your Authority over the Sand Sea World?" Delilah asked.
Anchoring the Sand Sea World's coordinates and integrating it into the Titanion Realm, while assigning Soraya, a broodmother, to guard the continent of Titan, had been Orion's command. It was a calculated move to expand his own Authority.
"What is there to regret?" Soraya shook her head. "You have no idea. After spending so long trapped in that desert, all I could think about was the Stoneheart Horde. Truthfully, I've wanted to come back for a long time."
She wasn't lying. Initially, acquiring the world's Authority had been an intoxicating novelty. But as the years bled together, the thrill faded, leaving only a hollow ache for home.
"Please." Delilah smirked, swatting at her friend. "I think you just missed Orion. You were starving for a man."
They collapsed into giggles, playfully wrestling each other. Eventually, exhausted, they sprawled out on a plush rug, staring up at the palace's ornate vaulted ceiling.
"To be honest, I really do miss him," Soraya confessed softly. "But you know how it is. With our physical limitations, unless we reach the demigod stage, we can barely survive a night in his bed, let alone bear his children."
It was a bitter pill for Soraya to swallow—a frustration shared by the rest of Orion's harem. His power grew at an unfathomable rate. No matter how desperately they trained, they couldn't close the gap. Soraya had nearly given up hope.
"To hell with world Authority," Soraya continued. "By returning home, the Titanion Realm has rewarded me with a massive influx of World Essence. Once my core stabilizes, I might finally break through to the demigod stage."
She glanced sideways at Delilah. "I know a specialized demigod like me will be at the bottom of the power rankings. But a demigod is still a demigod. That should be enough to endure a pregnancy with his child, right?"
Doubt laced her words. For years, bearing Orion's heir had been her singular obsession. It wasn't purely selfish; she had to consider the scorpion Horde. A faction that boasted a prince of his bloodline would forever hold a seat at the center of power. Her prolonged absence had cost her people dearly. Their influence had waned, reducing them to little more than an obscure vassal tribe.
"Breaking through to the demigod stage is a nightmare," Delilah sighed, dropping her guard entirely.
Between her and Lilith—one being Orion's wife, the other the chief administrator of the Stoneheart Horde—the succubus sisters had monopolized the highest-tier resources for years. Yet, neither had ascended. Even after receiving his overt favoritism in the form of the demigod-grade Banshee Crystals, that final threshold remained just out of reach. The demigod realm bowed to no one.
"Compared to that little bitch, we're both useless."
Self-pity quickly pivoted to venom as Delilah vented about the Moon Elf, Isilra. To Delilah, Isilra was an interloper. A thief who had stolen a march on them by ascending to the demigod stage while Delilah was away. Worse, the moment Isilra announced she was carrying Orion's child, her and Argentis's influence within the Stoneheart Horde had skyrocketed, nearly eclipsing Lilith's authority entirely. As Lilith's older sister, Delilah was seething with nowhere to direct her rage.
"Isilra?" Soraya burst into laughter, rolling onto her side. "Forget Isilra. What about Seraphina? Is she not a little bitch, too?"
Soraya knew exactly how the game was played. For all their outwardly brazen and magnanimous posturing, the succubus sisters were fiercely petty and territorial. They just usually kept their jealousy bottled up. But now, with the harem expanding and the pressure mounting, they were forced to scramble for allies. Allies like her.
The realization made Soraya laugh even harder.
"Seraphina is different," Delilah shot back indignantly. "She's one of us!"
