The sky itself began to tear open, revealing two distinct and colliding galaxies above. Orion, from his citadel, broadcast a message across his entire empire, urging his people to study the celestial event to comprehend the laws of reality and life. As the two dimensions merged, primordial world-essence flooded the atmosphere, creating a unique opportunity for cultivation and enlightenment.

Uncharted Domain. The Abyssal Depths.

Unlike the storm-choked, sunless surface, this unfamiliar stretch of the deep ocean was illuminated by millions of luminescent jellyfish, scattering light like a galaxy of stars. It looked like a breathtaking dreamscape.

At the edge of this dreamscape loomed a massive, dormant underwater volcano. Nestled directly within its crater was a glittering, sunken metropolis.

This was one of the primary strongholds of the Sea Folk demigod, Kuray. Since the bastard was hiding, Orion, Leonidas, and Kraken had decided to start here, tear the place apart, and smoke him out.

"What a gorgeous city. Shame it's about to be reduced to rubble," Leonidas sighed, staring at the metropolis protected by a massive, water-repelling ward. He put on a horribly unconvincing display of reluctance. "If they had just handed this place over to Squiddy as reparations, think of all the time and resources we would have saved."

Dropping the fake pity, Leonidas flashed a vicious, bloodthirsty grin. "Squiddy, you're up. That scaled freak tried to orchestrate your murder. You need to send a proper thank-you gift."

"Boss, my thoughts exactly."

Orion said nothing, silently endorsing the impending slaughter.

Kraken blurred, shifting into his true leviathan form—a colossal octopus. His massive tentacles uncoiled, whipping through the water with terrifying, earth-shattering force. Instantly, his movements churned the abyss, sending a violent torrent of bubbles racing toward the surface.

BOOM!

A deafening thud echoed across the ocean floor as Kraken latched his enormous body onto the city's defensive dome. His tentacles hammered relentlessly against the magical barrier, fracturing the ward.

"Who dares assault the palace of my Lord?!"

Kraken's violent assault immediately roused the High Lord guarding the city. A furious roar erupted from within the dome as a Triton High Lord rode a surging water current out from the city center.

He was pitch-black from head to tail. His corded muscles and scales gleamed with a dark, metallic sheen, and razor-sharp fins protruded from his back and elbows. He had a humanoid face, but his webbed hands lacked distinct fingers, ending instead in vicious bone-hooks. From the waist down, he possessed the powerful tail of a deep-sea predator.

This wasn't a common Fishman, nor was it a standard Merfolk. This was a Black Triton—a brutally aggressive and incredibly rare offshoot of the deep trenches, infamous for their feral ferocity and deep-seated vulnerability to blinding light and arcane fire.

"Well, look at that! A rare Black Triton!" Leonidas, well-versed in oceanic lore, immediately recognized the creature's lineage. "I've heard that the oil rendered from Triton fat is incredibly fragrant. It burns exceptionally well—perfect for fueling eternal flames."

Leonidas was practically vibrating with excitement before Kraken even had a chance to react. "Squiddy, process him nicely for me! I'm going to use his blubber to light my sunken palace back in the World of Eldoria."

Orion watched impassively. His divine senses confirmed that the Black Triton was merely a mid-tier High Lord. Against a monster like Kraken—a leviathan brimming with hidden trump cards—the Triton didn't stand a chance.

"Brother," Leonidas nudged Orion, "once Squiddy boils him down, I'll split the oil with you. Fair share for the audience."

Orion simply nodded. The Black Triton was just an appetizer. The real catch they were trawling for was Kuray.

And with that, Kraken went to work. On his own, the colossal octopus wouldn't have been able to breach the city's ward, as it was woven from Kuray's own divine power. But after Leonidas covertly struck the barrier's weak point, the ward shattered. Kraken flooded into the city, violently clashing with the Black Triton.

As the two High Lords collided, the terrified Sea Folk citizens scrambled to evacuate the doomed city.

Every single one of them failed.

With a casual flick of his wrist, Orion erected a new, impenetrable dome of divine power, sealing the city tight and cutting off any hope of escape. They were here to use the city's wealth and its inhabitants as bait to force Kuray's hand. Letting the hostages flee defeated the purpose entirely.

"Now that's fair!" Leonidas laughed. "Kuray tries to murder Squiddy, so Squiddy gets to butcher his congregation. An eye for an eye."

Leonidas and Orion hovered outside the barrier like two aloof, merciless gods, utterly unmoved by the one-sided slaughter unfolding below. Kraken was Leonidas's protégé, and Leonidas was fiercely protective of his own.

"The commotion isn't loud enough."

Just as Leonidas was proudly critiquing Kraken's massacre, Orion's cold voice snapped him out of his reverie.

"Brother? What are you implying?"

"Merely intimidating Kuray is insufficient. We must convey a potent message to the others," Orion stated, his voice laced with a cold, detached calm, utterly disregarding the lives unfolding beneath them.

Leonidas gazed upon the vast underwater city, his mind engrossed in contemplation. After a brief pause, his eyes suddenly ignited with a fierce spark, and he turned to Orion, a sinister grin spreading across his face. "Just hold on, brother. Prepare to witness a spectacle I've crafted just for you."

Leonidas extended his hand, and a sphere of profound darkness, crackling with an eerie fire, materialized in his palm.

"The Eternal Flame," Orion remarked knowingly. That distinctive, dark fire was instantly recognizable to him, a direct conduit to the depths of Minor Hell—a conflagration embodying pure death and consuming ash.

"It’s exceptionally useful for weapon crafting," Leonidas chuckled, his grin widening. "Before your arrival in this domain, I harbored concerns that Arthas might falter in defending the Ever-Burning Volcano. Consequently, I secured a portion of its core flame. This entire metropolis is ingeniously constructed within the caldera of a dormant volcano. Imagine the outcome if I were to reignite its core using this very flame... what are your thoughts on that particular scenario?"

Leonidas let out a laugh that echoed with a profoundly demonic resonance.

"I eagerly anticipate the revelation," Orion replied.

His understated affirmation felt like a jolt of pure energy, sending a thrilling surge through Leonidas. "I shall return swiftly!"

Transforming into a phantom shrouded in draconic might, Leonidas tore through the water, plunging directly into the earth's embrace and accelerating downward through the volcano's slumbering conduit.

Mere moments later, the ocean floor convulsed with immense force. The turbulent waters escalated into a furious boil. Dense, suffocating clouds of ash and smoke billowed forth from the crater, completely obscuring the submerged cityscape.

Concurrently, the bedrock underpinning the city fractured and splintered. Chasms ripped open across the seabed, unleashing torrents of incandescent, dark crimson magma that surged into the meticulously designed streets. It was an explosive release, akin to igniting a colossal powder charge.

The instant the superheated magma encountered the ocean water, a devastatingly violent reaction was triggered. An ear-splitting, apocalyptic roar ripped through the abyssal depths. The water instantaneously underwent explosive vaporization, generating immense clouds of blinding, scalding steam. To the man-made catastrophe already in progress, a primordial, natural disaster now joined the terrifying tableau.

Sensing the water temperature rapidly ascend to lethal thresholds, the Sea Folk jettisoned all possessions and fled chaotically in every direction, desperately seeking refuge. However, with Orion's divine protective barrier sealing the crater's expanse, they were inescapably confined within a veritable pressure cooker, destined to boil alive like mere insects caught in a searing pan.

"Hahaha! So, brother? What is your assessment of my grand creation?" Leonidas's voice reverberated telepathically through the cacophony of destruction.

"Utterly malevolent."

Leonidas, far from taking offense, swelled with profound pride. "Precisely the effect I aimed for!"

Seething oceans and incandescent depths. Orion could conceive of no more fitting description for the literal hellscape unfolding before his eyes. It was an epitome of absolute, terrifying obliteration.

Far below, the Black Triton, in a moment of misplaced bravery, had attempted to impede the Kraken. This foolish endeavor resulted in his immediate engulfment by the leviathan's colossal, constricting tentacles. The end was swift. With a series of horrific, pulverizing snaps, the Triton's bones and ligaments were obliterated. His physical vessel perished instantly.

Yet, transcending his corporeal form, the Black Triton possessed an Avatar of Faith. A spectral manifestation, featuring the upper body of a fish and the lower body of a serpent, detached itself from the mangled remains. The Avatar flickered unstably, its ethereal translucence serving as undeniable proof of the Triton's meager accumulation of faith.
