Titan King: Ascension of the Giant Chapter 1426 New Broodmother

Previously on Titan King: Ascension of the Giant...
Aldwyn, the last of the Eight Great Knights, reunited with his family in the abandoned Soaring Bird City, only to face a nocturnal insectoid swarm that engulfed the streets in chaos and flames. He swiftly mounted his beast and escaped with them toward the Stoneheart Horde, cutting down desperate bandits while glimpsing a fearsome Insectoid warrior hurling tridents from the walls. Meanwhile, in Stoneheart City, Lilith ordered the capture of Tristan Greymount, a suspected Awakened guiding the rise of his family, but Orion's probe revealed him as a cross-realm merchant from the neutral Silent Coin Trading Alliance, prompting plans to negotiate his allegiance.

"I know your organization's creed well. I won't limit your travels, nor will I block your dealings."

"I have only one question for you," Orion stated, his tone lowering deeply. "Would you take on the role of Master for the Stoneheart Horde's Cross-Realm Trade Guild?"

It was a generous offer, extended without strings.

For Tristan, part of the Silent Coin Trading Alliance, taking the Guild Master spot in the Stoneheart Horde posed no clash; it was a booster. Holding that rank in a growing force like the Horde would propel his standing in the Alliance to new heights.

This setup benefited both sides. Tristan would earn great respect, while the Stoneheart Horde would secure a proper trade route to other realms.

"It would be my greatest honor!"

Without even a moment's pause, Tristan knelt down, embracing the proposal with intense excitement.

In reality, his initial scheme for visiting the Stoneheart Horde called for a lengthy, tough effort to gradually catch the Giant King's attention. He never imagined the lofty leader would just present the chance on a golden tray, bypassing the hardest parts altogether.

It seemed like luck hadn't merely favored him; it had knocked him flat in the best way.

"Welcome to Blackstone City," Orion remarked, settling back. "I believe you'll enjoy it here."

"I've anticipated this day for ages."

Tristan was no fool; he recognized a polite end to the meeting when it came. Despite not knowing the castle's paths, he gave a profound bow and retreated from the Horde Hall.

Luckily, a succubus servant stood ready beyond the massive doors to escort him to the visitor rooms in the nearby tower.

"Orion, does he hail from another realm?" Lilith inquired right after Tristan left, her curiosity bubbling over.

"No... he's human, from the Titanion Realm. Just a fortunate fellow picked by the Silent Coin Trading Alliance."

Luck played a part, sure, but Tristan wouldn't have been chosen without rock-solid skills. The guy was a real standout.

"Setting up a cross-realm guild demands hefty resource backing," Orion went on. "Listen to Tristan's ideas first before settling on anything final."

"One more thing—remember that list of forging materials for relics I passed to you? Give it to Tristan. Let it serve as his entry challenge for Guild Master."

Lilith agreed with a nod, taking on the duty. Then, her face changed, eyes sharpening as she raised another topic.

"Orion, those Wormholes you mentioned... they've shown up in both Stoneheart City and Golden Pearl."

"We wiped out the Larvae lurking inside them right away," she hurried to add. "But would you like to check them out personally?"

The Golden Pearl belonged to the Scorpion Horde. As that group strengthened, it made sense for them to draw bug-like events.

Stoneheart City drew the Wormholes due to the Flying Fish Mayflies that Lilith had been raising in secret.

The Flying Fish Mayflies formed a swarm-based magical creature, essentially part of the insect type. They served as Lilith's secret weapon, nurtured far below ground to protect Stoneheart City, hidden completely from outsiders.

"I'll go see."

Orion lifted Lilith into his embrace, and their shapes faded from the Horde Hall.

Stoneheart City, Underground Chamber

Scattered across the ground were shed pupal shells and shiny blue fluids. The countless Flying Fish Mayfly eggs that normally filled the space had vanished, moved into the pocket dimension of the anomaly.

"The Wormholes Realm lies at the chamber's back," Lilith noted.

Guided by her, Orion swiftly headed to the cavern's end, where a endless dark gap pierced the soil.

Within that gap existed the broken dimension—the Wormholes Realm.

Orion and Lilith plunged into the shadows, touching down quietly in the small world.

"Master!"

"Master!"

The two sentries at the edge stood straight at once. They cut imposing shapes, armed with lengthy spears and carrying longbows plus arrow cases at their sides. Clear wings extended from their backs.

Most eye-catching were their gazes—or rather, their absence. They had eyeless blue spheres, and groups of faceted compound eyes dotted their brows.

"These are Mayfly Guards," Lilith clarified, noting Orion's astonishment. She pressed on without prompting. "When the world's laws transformed, they gained from it."

"Besides a huge boost in egg success rates, certain ones advanced into Insectfolk," she added, pointing at the watchers. "These two are examples. Deeper inside, more Insectfolk care for the fresh egg batches."

With a gesture from Lilith, the pair resumed their duties promptly.

"Even more shocking to me," Lilith shared while guiding him forward, "a Broodmother emerged from the Flying Fish Mayfly group."

"I called her Myxara."

Lilith revealed it offhand, yet it was the main cause for bringing Orion along. For witnessing or for asserting dominance, she required his attendance to lock in authority. As spouses, their actions held real force.

Orion grasped her aim completely. That's why he'd joined her.

"Myxara pays respects to the two Lords!"

Before arriving at the Wormholes Realm's heart, an odd female figure approached to greet them. She donned a gown of sheer, see-through fabric. Folded clear wings lay at her back, and compound eyes adorned her crown. She bent low in obeisance, shaking.

She stood apart from the other Insectfolk sentries; enigmatic blue-gold symbols ran from her eye edges along her neck's sweep.

"Alpha level!"

Orion advanced, examining the fresh Broodmother closely.

Myxara held her gaze down, too afraid to lift it toward him. Despite the compound eyes on her head, she closed off her sight on reflex. The strength difference loomed too large; just being near Orion set her frame quaking without stop.

"Don't fight it."

Orion neared, resting his broad palm right on her crown.

The following moment, his godly energy rushed forth, pouring into Myxara's mind sea.

He viewed her past events. It occurred on a moonless evening once the world's order altered. The formerly calm mayfly cluster grew restless, then savage. Maybe driven by nature, or maybe facing a lineage limit. The cluster assaulted itself, battling and devouring kin.

Broodmother Myxara triumphed in that fierce survival trial. She became the initial Flying Fish Mayfly to transform into Insectfolk.

Lilith had forged a pact with her prior to the change, but this visit aimed to guarantee total command and confirm the being's essence.

Probing Myxara's mind, Orion detected no hint of disloyalty.

Yet what he uncovered instead was an intense craving for the outer world and a zealous urge to spread her kind.
