Titan King: Ascension of the Giant Chapter 1416 No Mercy

"Master, I've found a treasure!"
Lorelia's thrill over discoveries like this always spread to those around her.
"Come on, Master! You must take a look at this. I've uncovered a fresh domain."
Grasping Orion's hand firmly, she hauled him further below the surface.
Down they went into a maze of underground channels, home to Lorelia's initial dwelling. But now, an unexpected addition disrupted the area next to her den: a deep, shadowy abyss without end, which had appeared just yesterday.
"Here it is. It appeared during the night," Lorelia explained.
Without waiting for Orion's reply, she let go and jumped in. Plunging into the gloom like a fish gliding into water, she disappeared in a flash.
The Wormholes Realm, Core Zone.
This bizarre, otherworldly space twisted the senses. Its terrain mimicked a massive, living hive, scarred by endless depressions.
Within those depressions sat vats of thick, jelly-like material—nourishing paste meant to accelerate the growth of bug-like beings.
Lorelia navigated the area effortlessly, making a beeline for the biggest depression in the middle. There rested a shiny, meaty larva, about four inches in length.
"Zerin! Your big sister is here to see you!"
Giggling, Lorelia scurried toward the golden larva and prodded its plump, divided form.
The golden larva twitched at the touch, starting to wake up.
Smack!
With a sharp strike, Lorelia sent the beast into oblivion. It flipped over, revealing a stomach covered in numerous glowing golden symbols.
"Whoops. I remembered Master's inspection is happening," Lorelia murmured slyly. "Stay asleep, little Zerin—it'll be easier that way. Hee hee!"
That giggle belonged to a real fiend.
Just then, the air rippled far off. Orion entered the Wormholes.
"This feeling..."
Demigod suppression?
As soon as Orion passed through, an odd, aggressive pressure hit him hard. The dimension itself pushed back against him, trying to chain him down and boot him out.
Yet the effort failed miserably. The force struck quickly, but Orion countered even quicker by unleashing his godly presence, breaking the unseen bonds right away.
"Fascinating. A barrier that picks out Demigod-level threats and above?"
Holding firm, Orion spread out his awareness. He probed the layout of the Wormholes and noted how the suppression worked.
Lorelia, as a Broodmother, slipped through without issue. But Orion battled resistance from the start.
Does this stem from the pocket dimension's own rules, or did the intruders set it up?
Orion suspected the second option. The focus felt too precise.
"Hmph."
With one stride, he bent space and popped up beside Lorelia in an instant.
"Master! Blame this sneaky pest," Lorelia shouted, jabbing a finger at the knocked-out larva. "He crept into my sleep last night! He wanted to snatch me away, pull me to his hideout for who knows what horrors! Good thing I'm sharp, or you could've lost me forever!"
Putting on a show, she sobbed theatrically while smearing pretend tears and mucus on Orion's gear.
Orion sighed inwardly. The thing in front of them was a mere Larva, while Lorelia ranked as an ancient top hunter. The notion of it capturing her was ridiculous; Zerin had clearly been the fool in this.
When her dramatics failed to draw the pity she craved, Lorelia quit pretending at once. She pressed near Orion, her face shifting to intense focus.
"Master, this puny guy reeks of pure nourishment. Loaded with protein."
Lips smacking, drool gathered as she eyed it hungrily. "How about we grill him up?"
Her suggestion came without a hint of jest.
"Nah, he's too small. Grilling would just burn off all the goodness," she grumbled to herself. "Hand him to Ursa instead. She could boil him gently. Perhaps pair it with some tasty sauce..."
Hunger sparked in Lorelia's gaze as desire overwhelmed her. Her talons extended, creeping closer to the golden larva.
Smack.
Orion smacked her claw aside.
"I need this creature for something. Keep it breathing." He nodded at the nearby vats. "Those hold top-quality sustenance. Check if your spider folk can benefit from them."
Bending low, Orion stared intently at the golden larva.
"Oh..."
Robbed of her treat and assigned a task, Lorelia sulked. With a huff, she spun around and dashed off to examine the ooze pools.
After she left, Orion's eyes sharpened. He scooped up the limp Zerin.
It remained a simple Larva, out cold from Lorelia's rough treatment.
Memories surfaced of a skill Orion had picked up earlier: Devouring Avatar.
This forbidden method let the caster swallow the essence of a young beast and claim its form as an extra shell. But it demanded the target be out cold for full certainty; if alert and fighting back, the odds dropped sharply.
Answers about the foes lay within reach, and this chance couldn't be wasted.
Acting swiftly, a vivid red glow burst from Orion's palm, swirling around the golden larva like a silken wrap.
In the blink of an eye, Orion sent his mind into the body.
Inside the Mindscape.
Zerin's inner world rang a bell.
It mirrored almost exactly the Wormholes realm that Orion had stepped into moments before. Born there, Zerin knew no other reality in his thoughts.
"Who are you?"
A fuzzy, childlike image floated in the emptiness—the shape of Zerin's spirit.
Orion gazed at the soul form. It lacked strength. As the baby stage of the bug race, its awareness stayed raw and breakable.
Devouring a feeble thing like this would be child's play; otherwise, Orion couldn't claim Demigod status.
"Time to uncover your true schemes."
Ignoring Zerin's question, Orion showed no mercy.
Enemies they were. In battle, age meant nothing—only survival mattered. Tales overflowed with fallen leaders who faltered from kindness.
WAAAGH!
The Stoneheart Titan's mental image roared fiercely.
The cry rattled the mindscape's core. Abruptly, a huge shape loomed over Zerin—a four-headed, eight-armed giant, its flesh marked by dazzling golden markings. Its crown brushed the mindscape's highest point.
Squelch.
Zerin perished.
His awareness shattered in a heartbeat.
Orion hadn't struck at all. A mere advance had let his soul's immense pressure grind Zerin into oblivion.
Their divide wasn't mere scale; it spanned realms.
With Zerin gone, Orion's giant shape dwindled fast, striding to where the young soul had faded. Breathing in deeply, he drew every remnant of the Larva's broken recollections.
