Titan King: Ascension of the Giant Chapter 1413 God-Devouring Larvae

Previously on Titan King: Ascension of the Giant...
Kronos, drawing on his army days in Blackstone City, guided Princess Lola through the bustling streets toward the best food and views, while a band of mercenaries—Bloodear the Gnoll, Stoutgut the Dwarf, Brundar the Giant, and Commander Godfrey—arrived via teleportation, eager for the festival and a mission to hunt elusive Bagbirds for their valuable pouches. High in Moonshadow Valley, the Spider Queen Lorelia lounged in her lair, overseeing the vibrant city below, until the Thunderhawk Rayden delivered a massive insect from beyond the borders as a gift, sparking a tense warning about straying too far amid the influx of powerful visitors. As night descended, dragons erupted from the Horde Hall to ignite the central bonfire with roaring flames, joined in the aerial spectacle by Thundar and Dace summoning their own mounts from ancient tattoos and seals.

Shortly after, Earthshaker, Ursa, and their companions released their contracted beasts.

In less than fifteen minutes, the sky swarmed with scores of dragon-like shapes, plunging and whirling in pursuit of the foremost colossal creature. The display thrilled the Stoneheart Horde like a banquet, while offering the dragonkin a splendid carnival of their own.

Atop the outer walls of the Horde Hall, a special viewing platform awaited the honored visitors: Princess Delphine, Ariselle, and Elyndar.

"Auntie Princess, Brother Prince, look! Actual dragons! So many!"

Ariselle stared skyward, her gaze mirroring a vision destined to linger in her memory forever. She shared this wonder; every resident and visitor in Blackstone City stood mesmerized just like her.

"In certain worlds, dragons symbolize supreme power—creatures of dread and splendor."

In a secluded spot within the city, the bard Cloudsong labored intensely over his canvas and brush, sketching the grand event before inscribing graceful script along the edge.

"Now," he pondered, "what name suits the epic of the Giant King? And this one... the Dragon Feast."

On the distant edge of Blackstone City, clustered near a blaze in the open square, the Bloodfire Mercenaries remained in awed quiet. The spit-roasted food and premium spirits they held went ignored as flocks of dragons soared above.

"It's real... by the gods, those tales were accurate!" Brundar, the massive warrior, kept whispering, appearing utterly spellbound.

"Have dragons actually joined forces with the Stoneheart Horde?" Bloodear, the gnoll, expressed confusion. From what he knew, dragons hid away as solitary beings in the southern islands.

"Hah! This view rivals the glow from a legendary smithy!" Stoutgut the dwarf chuckled, gulping down beer with wild ease.

"Dragons... Dragon Riders..."

To Godfrey the knight, this vision resonated deeply in ways the rest couldn't grasp fully.

"It... it defies belief."

In the square beyond the Horde Hall, Garrett, Lambert, Klythia, and their group—invited as Ava's allies—gathered by their campfire. As fellow knights, they echoed Godfrey's amazement. The tremors shaking their souls matched his in strength.

"Do you suppose," Klythia, the wielder of the tower shield, murmured, "that someday, we could also..."

She glanced at her enormous shield; amid dragons, it felt utterly trivial. Now that Ava and Kronos had come back to the Stoneheart Horde, they too belonged to the group. As family now, maybe such prospects lay within reach.

Hope, desire, and open jealousy shone in their stares.

"Kronos, look! There's yours!"

From a tower to the west—the prime spot Kronos had discovered over his time in Blackstone City—Lola indicated the heavens. The crowded Horde Hall lay to the left; the lively heart of the fire festival boomed to the right.

The Twelfth Princess quickly identified Kronos's dragon.

"By the way," Kronos remarked, shattering the instant with a query that prompted a theatrical eye-roll, "you carry draconic blood too. Do Sea-Drakes possess wings?"

"Hmph. I won't tell you!"

To the east of the city, along the mountain walls.

Lorelia attended, but without straining her neck like the crowd. Rather, she reclined on a huge, bed-shaped shell draped in her preferred silks and pelts. For her, the flying dragons resembled mere wandering performers.

"See that? If you grew a bit tougher, if you could unleash a true cry, those reptiles wouldn't dismiss you."

Lorelia cast a look at Rayden, the thunderhawk quivering nearby. She sighed in dismay, shaking her head.

Once, the skies over Blackstone City had been Rayden's territory. These days, the thunderhawk got pushed aside. The beings aloft weren't mere mythical animals; several ranked as Alpha-tier dragon creatures. Each one alone could match or exceed Rayden's might.

This held particularly for the rides of the heirs—Caelus, Kronos, Pallas, Elara, and Rolan. Their dragons boasted elite lineages and, aware of their riders' rank, ignored Rayden completely.

In essence, the Stoneheart Horde's skies no longer answered to Rayden.

Unknown Space, Unknown Realm.

As the Stoneheart Horde reveled, darkness amassed in a hazy, vague plane. Over a dozen shadowy forms of diverse outlines met to plot.

"The spread of world laws approaches completion," one being croaked. "Yet, the native bugs in that realm remain too feeble. Lacking our aid, they can't spark a real surge."

"I suggest activating the Wormholes Protocol."

The voice belonged to a ghostly shape that seemed part-man, part-bug, urging the merging of realms forward.

"I support Xirun's idea."

"The bugs in the rival realm suffer from scarce survival supplies," a different shadow noted. "They require shattered spaces. That way alone can they shatter barriers, gather strength, and prove fit as our followers."

This one had examined the Titanion Realm via their sway over nearby hive networks. The chief forces there crushed bugs without mercy. Absent action, their troops would gain no ground upon entry.

"I back the Wormholes' deployment, yet advise a phased rollout."

"Start with five to ten Wormholes for the initial assault. Should outcomes prove positive without drawing too much notice from their Demigods, we expand."

These Wormholes formed broken mini-realms packed with huge lands and plentiful supplies ideal for bug expansion—nests built by the Void Insectoids from their bodily designs.

"Moreover, I urge planting these Wormholes with a group of Larvae. Allow them to turn the Wormholes into forward bases for the invasion's opening."

Such Larvae hailed from the God-Devouring breed, armed with a full growth chain and route. With ample materials, they might advance gradually to forms beyond Legend rank.

Should these Larvae slip into the Titanion Realm before the bulk arrived, it would grant enormous edge in the looming clash of worlds.

"I endorse Shakkor's plan. Placing Larvae acts as both attack and survey."

"Even if my reports claim that world has few elite Demigods, dispatching Larvae for scouting remains wise caution."

"Should the Larvae spot issues, we pull back swiftly and cut the link between the realms."

"Exactly. Data from our own scouts offers the sole reliable insight."
