The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human? Chapter 1381 839: Scoring Legendary Equipment for Free!

As Liu Zheng withdrew his hand from the fish's maw, his arm was already riddled with wounds, resembling cuts from a razor-sharp blade.
He lifted his left hand, and a dark crimson flame bloomed from his palm.
Passing his left hand over his compromised right arm, the injuries began to seal, one after another.
Yet, Liu Zheng understood this was merely a stopgap, preventing further deterioration; these wounds would surely reopen the moment combat commenced.
He yearned for his own body.
"Just hold on. Once this entity is fully integrated, it can be removed."
The Fisherman plunged the fish back into the murky depths of the Underwater River.
"How much longer will that take?"
Liu Zheng inquired.
"The timeframe is uncertain. It could be a matter of days, or perhaps a year or two."
The Fisherman responded.
"That's quite a broad estimate. If I don't return to claim it by then, consider it yours as a token of appreciation, Brother Sha."
He remarked.
"Brother, such words are ill-omened, and I find them unpleasant to hear."
Sha Jiang expressed a touch of displeasure.
"Haha, forgive my foolish talk. I deserve a slap for that."
Liu Zheng chuckled and delivered a slap to his own cheek.
"You should have done that sooner. Had you not, I would have gladly obliged."
The Fisherman added to the taunt from the sidelines.
"Then, Brother Sha, could you lend your keen eye to assess the luck associated with these items?"
He produced a jar of murky wastewater and thirty-five low-value articles.
The silver lining was that the sewer had overlooked these; the dark cloud was that nothing significant had materialized either.
"Surely, not everything is contained within this jar, is it?"
Sha Jiang commented upon spotting seven objects bobbing in the wastewater.
"Brother Sha, your observation is impeccable. Indeed, one piece is conspicuously absent."
Liu Zheng gave an approving nod.
"I sensed something was amiss."
Sha Jiang stated as he reached into the murky liquid, retrieving the seven found items.
These consisted of a corroded nail, a discarded plastic bag, a mangled earphone, a mobile phone with a shattered display, a light fixture with a broken tube, a scorched work glove, and a half-consumed meat bun.
"What a shame; a missing component renders the set useless."
Sha Jiang lamented, shaking his head.
"That is indeed regrettable."
Liu Zheng felt a pang of disappointment but wasn't overly perturbed; this outcome had been within his expectations from the outset.
"However, it's not entirely without value."
Sha Jiang remarked, meticulously sifting through the thirty-five lesser-value trinkets once more.
After careful selection, he procured a bent nail clipper and deposited it into the wastewater.
"Brother, when the need arises, simply discard them collectively. They may lack true efficacy, but they should serve to startle the unwary."
Sha Jiang advised.
"I am much obliged, Brother Sha."
Liu Zheng expressed his gratitude.
If it possessed the power to intimidate, then its value was assured, transforming detritus into something potentially useful.
"The remaining items hold no appeal; their deficiencies far outweigh any potential benefits. Find a suitable dump and dispose of them."
Sha Jiang indicated the leftover heap of assorted junk.
"We cannot simply discard them carelessly. That contraption, the Hammerhead, requires one daily tribute from the Garbage Processing Plant, lest it eliminate the nearest sentient being."
Liu Zheng countered, shaking his head.
"You neglected to mention that critical detail earlier!"
The Fisherman exclaimed, taken aback.
Wasn't he the closest sentient creature to that particular fish?
Despite his role as an agent of the sewer, he harbored no desire to test his resilience against the contaminants from the Garbage Processing Plant.
"Well, you simply failed to inquire."
Liu Zheng retorted with unshakeable confidence.
The circumstances had shifted with unprecedented rapidity; he hadn't anticipated leaving anything behind in the sewer system.
"Should I fail to appear a month from now, and you are unable to establish contact, then proceed with its disposal."
He instructed after a moment's deliberation.
"Rest assured, I would have discarded it even without your directive. However, must you always speak as if penning your last testament? Even if it brings you no distress, it certainly unsettles me."
The Fisherman voiced his complaint.
"Two negatives negate each other; one must employ inauspicious pronouncements to counteract accursed refuse."
Liu Zheng chuckled.
"It's no wonder you utter so many ill-fated words, considering your own considerable misfortune."
The Fisherman remarked with a semblance of sympathy.
"Father-in-law, if you persist in such observations, I shall be compelled to escort Sea Girl to a hot spring and allow her to absorb some of my ill luck as well."
He narrowed his eyes conspiratorially.
"You wouldn't dare!"
The Fisherman erupted in immediate indignation.
"Very well, brother, my young associate here is merely jesting; please overlook his impetuousness."
Sha Jiang intervened, restraining the Fisherman and creating an opening for Liu Zheng to depart discreetly.
Emerging from the sewer, he proceeded directly to the cemetery.
The instant he passed through the imposing archway, the Tomb Guardian materialized before him.
"A pleasant afternoon to you, Mr. Tomb Guardian."
Liu Zheng offered a swift greeting.
"Mm. Are you here for a visit, or perhaps some grave-robbing?"
The Tomb Guardian inquired.
"Ah, neither, truth be told. I am, in fact, seeking to excavate some ghoul flesh."
He answered truthfully.
"I see. So, it is grave-robbing after all."
The Tomb Guardian offered a nod. "Huh?" Liu Zheng found himself momentarily stunned. Yet, upon further reflection, the request seemed logical; to acquire ghoul flesh, one would inevitably have to breach coffins and disturb the deceased, wouldn't they? "Esteemed Tomb Guardian, the last time I engaged in grave robbing, I barely escaped with my head intact. Attempting it again might leave me with absolutely nothing, so I'm afraid I won't be able to assist you," he stated, a wry smile playing on his lips. "I'll just order some takeout; we have ample time." The Tomb Guardian's response was placid. "Well... truth be told, I've a considerable number of urgent matters to attend to recently, and I might need to travel abroad again," Liu Zheng attempted to politely decline once more. "There is no rush on my end." With those words, the Tomb Guardian decisively removed any avenue for refusal. "Very well, as you command," he conceded with a heavy sigh. "Excellent. Please wait here," the Tomb Guardian instructed before disappearing from his original position in an instant. "Here, Brother Ma, do give this a try," Liu Zheng surreptitiously produced a pack of "Universal Meat Eater Food" along with a bottle of Copper Mark, presenting them to Skinny Horse. Skinny Horse cast a furtive glance around before swiftly unceremoniously consuming the entire pack and then biting off the cap, downing the entire bottle in one continuous gulp. "Nay~" Feeling thoroughly replete and content, the creature let out a satisfied whinny.
