THE VILLAIN'S POV Chapter 766 The Forbidden Continent
Previously on THE VILLAIN'S POV...
Day by day, the world faced unavoidable upheavals.
Before long, it shifted into a pivotal transition—a phase that promised the dawn of an entirely new age.
Lately, an enigmatic territory had emerged right at the universe's core…
A landmass born out of absolute void.
Initially, it was shrouded in secrecy, and nobody dared approach it.
But this strange territory triggered an extraordinarily uncommon event…
The mighty powers stirred into action.
Those ultimate existences perched at the pinnacle of all being… beings whose true nature had always eluded full grasp. Their strength defied measurement, and they had rarely meddled in worldly matters.
This might mark the very first occasion they acted with such purpose and haste.
Just their motion alone proved one undeniable fact:
This emerging land held no small significance.
It probably harbored elements that exceeded all understanding.
Consequently, myriad races sprang into motion, sending their most potent warriors to probe the mysteries and reveal the enigmas of that odd domain.
Within the horde of groups hurrying to seize control, the demons led the charge.
Under the command of Crimson, the Red Moon and top-ranked among the High Demons, a elite squad assembled—made up of Crimson personally, Agares as the Second Seat, and Marvas as the Fifth Seat.
It wasn't long before the trio arrived at the site.
However, the sight that greeted them… challenged all reason.
While floating in the emptiness, the three demons lingered in quiet, their gazes fixed on the peculiar land ahead.
"This isn't a continent…"
Marvas whispered, his elderly tone weighted with gravity, as he beheld it for the initial time.
"…It's a whole different thing."
The terrain in front of them bore no resemblance to a planet or any familiar continent.
Rather, it appeared as an enormous, elaborate edifice… an illogical creation that defied sense.
It looked like a gigantic device of unfathomable intricacy.
A maze so convoluted that gazing at it too intently sparked a throbbing ache in the head.
Its shape remained fluid.
Innumerable portals dotted its surface, rearranging themselves every instant.
Put simply, a person could slip through an opening—only for it to seal shut immediately after, sealing them within.
The passages twisted in wild disarray… at times shaping basic rectangular routes, at others twisting into forms more elaborate than logic could permit.
Scores… actually, thousands of layered shapes and separate zones blended in a nightmarish unity.
The demon group had reached the spot earlier, but they held back from venturing in.
The identical caution gripped every other race drawn to investigate this land.
Without fail, they encircled the enigmatic continent from various far-off vantage points.
The entrances loomed invitingly ajar—yet nobody crossed the threshold.
In their midst, Crimson's face grew stormy, fury slowly etching across his features.
"What kind of absurdity is this?"
He clutched his armament… a sword that could shift into a lance based on its grip.
In the following moment, the First Seat channeled a torrent of Aura into his weapon, capturing the focus of all fighters nearby.
With one mighty stroke, Crimson unleashed a colossal surge of ruinous energy at a barrier encircling the continent.
The onslaught carried tremendous might.
But as it approached the barrier, the force scattered utterly, fading away in an eerie, almost enchanted fashion.
Witnessing this, Marvas—the Fifth Seat—released a drawn-out breath.
"That settles it…"
Crimson gave a quiet nod, as Agares swore softly to himself.
"I've never witnessed anything like this before."
Crimson lifted his hand to his visage, shaping his Aura with precision.
"This isn't any regular territory," he declared, scanning the area.
"An unseen barrier cloaks it."
"We wield Aura without issue out here… yet the instant we try directing it against the continent's barriers—or anything close enough to them—our Aura unravels entirely."
Such was the insight Crimson gleaned from his thorough examination of the surroundings.
The void now teemed with fighters—plenty of them foes.
Crimson had already noticed known presences.
Midir, the foremost of the Seven Great Powers.
The Light Bearers' contingent under Orested's lead.
And numerous other powerful entities—like Vordt, the Sixth, alongside his counterpart, Umber.
The arrival of such titans ought to have sparked inevitable clashes.
Strangely enough… no one could strike at each other while staying in the continent's vicinity.
That exact limitation kept them from advancing.
Without Aura for combat, entering meant facing peril defenseless, like charging into war without arms.
The unknowns lurking inside remained a mystery.
Lacking the means to battle, demise loomed as a stark threat.
Therefore, by pure reflex, all halted.
Within that gathering…
Crimson's crimson gaze ignited for a flash as he concentrated sharply on the land nearby.
"An intangible barrier shields this location," he stated.
"Inside its reach, a decree has been set."
"A decree like—no fighting allowed in this zone."
"Hence, deploying Aura for assaults proves futile. It seems this domain follows unbreakable principles."
Crimson pivoted toward the closest portal into the continent.
"This decree governs only the exterior," he went on.
"I doubt it carries over to the interior."
That insight came from his detailed assessment of the scene.
Still, he showed no sign of comfort.
After all… additional decrees might lurk within… ones that could curb their Aura even more severely.
Never had the First Seat faced a phenomenon like this before.
Nothing had ever tampered with his Aura… which he typically commanded without flaw.
Next to him, Marvas creased his brow, a worrisome idea taking shape.
"Crimson…" he uttered deliberately.
"Suppose there's a presence here… one with total mastery over Aura?"
"…A presence our strikes can't touch?"
This notion arose straight from the continent's enforced limit on them.
At these words, Crimson's countenance grew even grimmer.
"I refuse to consider that possibility," he replied icily.
"Not even our mighty king, Agaroth, holds such sway."
Should a creature exist immune to Aura, it would spell disaster beyond measure.
But Crimson pushed the idea aside quickly.
Rather, he advanced—taking the lead ahead of the rest.
"We're heading inside."
Without pause, the First Seat pressed on, startling both Marvas and Agares.
"But… what if we face the same issue within?" Marvas questioned, worry clear in his tone.
Crimson answered without delay.
"Staying outside solves nothing. We'll figure it out once we're through."
His choice stood firm.
A dark red radiance erupted from his armor as he readied himself to cross.
"Even without striking foes," Crimson stated steadily,
"I can still harness my strength."
His Aura remained intact… merely bound.
With his abilities at hand, Crimson felt assured he could handle whatever lay ahead.
In the end…
How few in this realm could truly oppose him?
Not even Agaroth, the Demon King, could fell him without effort.
And thus…
The three demons unleashed their Auras and charged ahead, piercing the uncharted continent amid the shocked stares of all other races gathered.
