THE VILLAIN'S POV Chapter 718: The Last Thousand Steps (3)

Previously on THE VILLAIN'S POV...
Frey struggles against the combined might of Zibar and his own father, Abraham, whose resurrected form acts as an unbreakable shield for the ancient demon. Haunted by the pain of striking his father, Frey briefly falters before resolving to cast aside his hesitation and unleash his most destructive technique, Nameless Judgement. Though the catastrophic strike is ultimately neutralized by Abraham’s transcendent defense, the battle takes an unexpected turn. Rather than dissipating, the massive remnants of Frey’s aura begin to stir and converge back toward him, signaling a reckless new gambit.

With a gaze so cold and piercing it sent a chill down Zibar’s spine, Frey once again leveled his blade toward Zibar and Abraham.

“Ten Thousand Steps of Shadow…”

“You’ve got to be kidding me…” Zibar spat a curse, propelling himself toward Frey with every ounce of his strength.

Zibar’s sword tip was only millimeters from Frey’s skin...

but at the final microsecond, Frey vanished, teleporting away to initiate his strike.

“Nameless Judgement.”

—BOOOOOOOM!!!!—

Right before Zibar’s eyes, the very fabric of space was shredded once more as Frey’s attack roared forward with a devastating howl.

Gritting his teeth, Zibar channeled his entire reservoir of power, flooding Katarina’s blade with a massive surge of aura.

“Void Eater!”

A colossal dark crescent erupted from Katarina’s sword, matching the scale of Frey’s incoming destruction.

Within moments, the two titanic forces collided in a violent struggle, each attempting to consume the other in an unprecedented explosion of power.

It was a battle of Zibar’s dark aura against Frey’s Black Hole aura.

After a fierce deadlock, Frey’s technique began to overwhelm Zibar’s defense...

a fragment of the strike pierced through, leaving a massive dent in the Katarina armor. Although the armor tried to disperse the impact, it was futile against the sheer volume of aura packed into Frey’s blow.

The thunderous clash persisted for a long, agonizing moment…

until the energy finally dissipated.

Zibar had managed to survive the hit—barely—but his expression turned to stone as he felt the aura beginning to stir once again.

Terror gripped his features when he saw the aura flowing back toward Frey. The young man raised his sword yet again, his killing intent surging like a violent gale.

“Ten Thousand Steps of Shadow…”

At the mere sound of those words...

Zibar’s body flared with power, and Abraham transformed into a blinding flash of stellar light, both warriors unleashing their absolute maximum potential simultaneously.

They lunged toward Frey at the speed of light, tearing through the atmosphere in a frantic bid to stop him... but they were too slow.

Because Frey was warping space itself, they simply could not reach him in time.

Before their very eyes…

Frey ripped the world open once more.

“Nameless Judgement!!!”

Frey’s roar echoed with every fiber of his being as he threw his strongest technique forward again, pulling them both into the void of the Black Hole.

Zibar and Abraham were swallowed by the strike, fighting back with every bit of their legendary power, refusing to be defeated.

When the aura finally cleared, a massive crater was revealed, carved deep into the earth…

a hollow scar on the landscape where everything within had been completely annihilated.

Zibar and Abraham remained standing... but only just.

A visible crack now ran across the Katarina armor.

Abraham’s body, forged of aura, suffered a deep gash that bled starlight.

They were battered and wounded, yet they persisted.

However, Zibar felt no sense of relief.

The aura was moving again...

—and Frey was lifting his blade once more.

“Ten Thousand Steps of Shadow…”

As Frey spoke, the ground beneath them buckled and groaned as if a cataclysmic earthquake had struck.

Simultaneously, he struck terror into the hearts of his foes just as effectively.

“Frey Starlight…!!! Just how much further are you going to take this?!”

Zibar charged again.

Abraham followed close behind.

But they were met head-on by only one thing—

another incinerating Nameless Judgement,

which engulfed them both in a terrifying flood of shadows.

“Until death,”

Frey replied with a frozen tone, drawing the aura back into his body.

Witnessing this terrifying sight—the masked youth raising his weapon time and again, delivering endless destruction—

Zibar felt a foreign emotion: fear.

As he stared at the overwhelming power Frey displayed…

his previous insults echoed in his mind like a cruel joke.

Had he really called this creature “weak”?

Weak? Him?

The realization hit Zibar like a physical blow...

just before the darkness consumed him once again.

Both Zibar and Abraham fought to the bitter end, exerting 100% of their strength and holding nothing back for future encounters. They sacrificed every drop of their energy for this single struggle.

Why?

Because the man before them had ascended far beyond their expectations…

reaching a peak where, for the first time in this war…

they felt the cold touch of true danger.

Frey Starlight let loose Nameless Judgement repeatedly...

an unrelenting storm of attacks that caused the entire planet Earth to tremble.

Ripples of Black Hole energy and violent aura shocks radiated across the globe until every living soul could feel the vibration.

Every living thing sensed it...

the tragic, world-splitting battle of Frey Starlight.

Far away, deep within the Shadow Sect…

Numerous figures stood up, gazing at the horizon in shock...

recognizing the owner of that aura immediately.

Among them, Snow Lionheart understood the gravity of the situation better than anyone.

“Frey…”

Realizing the truth, Snow took to the sky without a second thought...

appearing as a streak of light cutting through the clouds as he flew toward that ominous aura with a look of pure dread.

Across the world, all of Frey’s allies felt the same sensation...

knowing that he was currently locked in a desperate, life-or-death struggle far beyond their help.

Meanwhile…

Frey continued to fire off Nameless Judgement without a single moment of rest.

Each blow sent Abraham and Zibar reeling, their bodies marked by increasingly horrific wounds. Despite their immense power, they couldn't even get close to Frey... who was spamming a world-class technique as if it cost him nothing.

This wasn't the work of Nameless.

This was Frey—and Frey alone.

Watching from a distance, Nameless narrowed his eyes with every swing of the sword.

“How peculiar… He claimed to be weak, yet he is suddenly performing my technique with flawless precision.”

Frey was far from ordinary.

Initially, he could only reclaim 30% of his energy using the skill Nameless had provided.

But in the heat of combat, he had evolved.

“Now… he is recovering over 90% of the energy from every strike he releases.”

It was as if he had practiced—no, mastered—this art centuries ago.

For the first time, Nameless felt a genuine sense of admiration for the youth known as Frey Starlight.

With such a high recovery rate, Frey could sustain the Nameless Judgement indefinitely, even as his physical form threatened to shatter under the strain.

The pain must have been unbearable... yet Frey didn't even flinch.

“Frey Starlight… you are anything but weak.”

Nameless murmured softly, falling silent as he watched Frey’s final, desperate rampage.

Frey’s fury continued for a while longer.

Though only a few minutes passed... for those caught in the storm, it felt like an eternity.

The ruin left by Frey’s onslaught had wiped an entire region off the map. All that was left was a staggering crater, a massive wound carved into the world itself.
