The Supreme Wild Young Master Chapter 661 Final Battle (Part 2)_1
Previously on The Supreme Wild Young Master...
As the first sunlight broke through the clouds and illuminated the earth, dispelling the lingering darkness, a tranquil village in Huaxia, nestled amongst mountains and forests, stirred to life.
A melodious bell rang, signaling the start of the day, and transforming the quiet village into a bustling hub. Villagers emerged from their homes, converging on a wide open space.
"A fine day it is today," mused Xi Jue, stepping out from a modest courtyard. He gazed at the sunrise painting the eastern sky and offered a smile.
"Indeed, the weather is exceptionally pleasant," Yuan Kui chuckled in agreement.
Jia Yi, following close behind, added with a laugh, "The delegation from Lingxiao Island should be arriving soon, shouldn't they? I'm genuinely eager to witness how things unfold today."
"My anticipation is just as high," Xi Jue replied, his own chuckle echoing as he strode towards the village entrance, his gaze fixed on the horizon.
Scouts had already delivered word: Zhang Xian and his companions were drawing near.
And as if on cue, a few figures materialized from the surrounding woods. Zhang Xian and Old Man Gui led the procession.
"Is this truly the headquarters of the Voice of God?" Zhang Xian inquired, a hint of surprise coloring his voice as he spotted Xi Jue and the others from a distance.
He had long been curious about the location of the Voice of God's main base, never imagining it would be such an unremarkable village.
Who would ever associate such a common-looking village with an organization of such magnitude?
"Hahaha..." A hearty laugh erupted.
Xi Jue advanced, his laughter booming, "A warm welcome to the headquarters of the Voice of God, esteemed guests from Lingxiao Island."
"Let's dispense with pleasantries and get straight to the point. We have little common ground for extensive conversation," Zhang Xian stated bluntly, his eyes fixed on Xi Jue. He felt no inclination for dilly-dallying.
This confrontation was critically important to him, a matter of life and death.
"It's quite simple," Xi Jue responded, a grin playing on his lips. "Either you divulge all that you know, or you perish alongside your comrades. The choice is yours."
"I choose a third path," Zhang Xian declared, stepping forward. The spiritual energy within his body surged as he continued, "One of us must fall today."
"Hahaha, you possess considerable courage," Xi Jue exclaimed, his laughter hearty.
The other members of the Voice of God mirrored his amusement. They were acutely aware of Xi Jue's formidable strength. In their eyes, Zhang Xian's challenge was akin to seeking punishment, and they expected him and his group to surrender without a fight.
"Xi Jue..." Old Man Gui attempted to interject, "We haven't reached an irreconcilable point. Let us halt this. After all, we are ostensibly from the same cultivation path."
"Indeed, I understand that implication," Xi Jue replied with a smile. "And precisely for that reason, I hope for your cooperation, to prevent any irreparable damage to our relationship."
"Enough talk. Let us see some action," Zhang Xian suddenly declared, surging forward. He moved with such speed that he left after-images in his wake as he charged at Xi Jue.
His spiritual energy surged violently within him, unleashing a force comparable to a breaking tsunami – immense and unstoppable.
"Hmph, you dare challenge me with such meager strength?" Xi Jue scoffed, effortlessly evading Zhang Xian's initial assault. He then reappeared instantaneously to Zhang Xian's left, delivering a casual slap to his back, employing no elaborate techniques.
"Pfft..." Blasted backward by Xi Jue's palm strike, Zhang Xian spat a mouthful of blood. He flew a significant distance before crashing heavily onto the ground.
Xi Jue, a peak cultivator in the Legendary Realm, was indeed exceptional. Beyond his techniques, his speed alone far surpassed Zhang Xian's, leaving him with no option but to endure the onslaught.
"Zhang Xian... allow me to take over," Old Man Gui gritted his teeth, stepping forward and moving to engage Xi Jue.
"Let me handle this..." Zhang Xian, having regained his feet, blocked Old Man Gui's advance. "This is between him and me. Regardless of the outcome, do not interfere."
"You are no match for him," Old Man Gui stated, understanding Zhang Xian's desire to minimize casualties. However, he recognized that Xi Jue would not show mercy. Should a full-scale conflict erupt, their chances against the Voice of God were slim, especially with several powerful fighters on the opposing side eager for battle.
As a mentor, he could not bear to witness Zhang Xian walk willingly towards his demise.
"Let me do this..." Zhang Xian reiterated, and without further words, charged at Xi Jue once more.
"Heh heh, quite dutiful."
Xi Jue evaded Zhang Xian's strike yet again, letting out a laugh. "However, I do not hold individuals like you in high regard, thus I shall show no leniency. But if you truthfully divulge all about the Ancient Times, not only will I grant you your freedom, but I will also spare the lives of everyone on Lingxiao Island."
"If you wish to battle, then fight. Cease this nonsensical talk."
Zhang Xian harbored no such thoughts and relentlessly continued his assault on Xi Jue, pushing his capabilities to their absolute limit.
"Hmph, since you fail to appreciate a kind offer, you cannot blame me."
Xi Jue's lips twisted oddly as he met Zhang Xian's onslaught directly.
He held someone who hadn't even attained the Legendary Realm in low esteem. Despite this, Zhang Xian's progression thus far had presented multiple perplexing elements.
"Bang..."
Their fists collided in the air, producing a deep, resonant sound akin to an explosive release of gas.
During this impact, Zhang Xian was once more hurled backward, expelling a mouthful of fresh blood, as though his internal organs had been violently dislodged.
"Damn it, this fellow's strength is formidable, and he hasn't even exerted his full power yet," Zhang Xian remarked, propping himself up with one hand on the ground. After regaining his breath, he slowly rose to his feet.
This time, however, he refrained from attacking, instead fixing a cold glare upon Xi Jue. What he lacked most at this moment was time, and no one could predict if a breakthrough might occur at any instant.
"Afraid to continue fighting?"
Xi Jue scoffed, inquiring, "If you are hesitant, then allow me to take the initiative. I am curious to see how long you can endure."
The instant his words fell, he propelled himself towards Zhang Xian with the speed of a runaway train.
"So rapid..."
Zhang Xian attempted to evade by shifting his position.
"Presumptuous."
With a chilling smile, Xi Jue, seemingly anticipating Zhang Xian's movement, unleashed a punch precisely where Zhang Xian was about to be.
"Phew..."
Unable to evade the incoming strike, Zhang Xian was once again sent flying, scattering a crimson mist through the air.
"Zhang Xian..."
Not far away, Zi Yu, already in tears, cried out, "Stop! You are no match for him."
The hearts of Old Man Gui and the others constricted with anxiety.
Yet, they understood that in a direct confrontation, they stood no chance against the Representatives of the Gods. Not only did they have Xi Jue to contend with, but there were also two exceptionally powerful cultivators at the Legendary Realm, alongside numerous Grandmaster-level experts. If a brawl were to erupt now, Zhang Xian's prior endeavors would be rendered futile. Currently, Zhang Xian was significantly weakened.
If victory had been within their grasp, a group battle would have commenced the moment they arrived.
"Observe, your beloved damsel is already heartbroken,"
Xi Jue sauntered towards Zhang Xian, a sneer on his lips. "How about you enlighten me about the Ancient Times, and then you may escort your beauty back to Lingxiao Island?"
"What if I requested a few days to deliberate on your proposal?" Zhang Xian responded, rising with a smile.
Xi Jue paused for a moment, then shook his head. "I possess insufficient time to squander on you. Your demand must be met today."
Wiping a trickle of blood from the corner of his mouth, Zhang Xian offered a faint smile and stated, "Then we have nothing further to discuss. Unleash whatever tactics you possess."
"Do you harbor no fear of death?" Xi Jue inquired icily. "Should you refuse to cooperate, I will show no mercy."
Zhang Xian chuckled and replied, "No living being is without fear of death, but at times, apprehension is futile and incapable of altering the inevitable outcome."
"Very well..."
Xi Jue's fists clenched abruptly, and he surged forward swiftly toward Zhang Xian.
"Thump..."
Zhang Xian made no attempt to evade, fully aware that any chance of dodging Xi Jue's strike was nonexistent.
The instant Xi Jue's fist connected, Zhang Xian felt an utter loss of bodily control, his senses vanishing instantaneously.
While suspended in mid-air, past recollections rapidly flickered through his mind, as though he were reliving them.
"Zhang Xian..."
Zi Yu broke free from those restraining her and rushed toward Zhang Xian.
Old Man Gui and the others remained frozen, paralysis gripping them as they witnessed Zhang Xian being sent hurtling through the air, crashing heavily onto the ground, and failing to stir.
"Is he deceased?"
With immense difficulty, Zhang Xian pried his eyes open, cast a single glance at the azure sky, and then weakly closed them.
Despite his eventual defeat in this confrontation and his failure to launch a potent counterattack by achieving a breakthrough to the Realm of Spiritual Origin at that critical juncture, he experienced an inexplicable sense of profound relief.
Indeed, an unparalleled sense of liberation washed over him.
It felt as though all the immense pressures he had carried had evaporated in an instant, leaving him feeling lighter than a feather, almost as if he were ascending.
"He has perished..."
Yuan Kui, Jia Yi, and the others stared at Zhang Xian's motionless form, a flicker of astonishment in their eyes.
A captivating spectacle was anticipated, particularly given the enigmatic aura that Zhang Xian projected. Nevertheless, the unfolding events were proving rather anticlimactic and uninspiring.
"Zhang Xian..."
Old Man Gui and the others were jolted from their reverie and swiftly moved towards Zhang Xian.
They observed that while Zhang Xian had survived, he was clearly on his last breath. Old Man Gui stood, eyes fixed on Xi Jue with burning anger, and bellowed, "Wretch, you truly had the audacity to go through with it?"
"Is there anything I would not dare to do?"
Xi Jue emitted a disdainful laugh. "It is a regrettable fact that I did not receive intelligence regarding the Ancient Times, yet I have always been unyielding towards those who defy me."
"You court death..."
Old Man Gui roared, his visage contorted in unbridled fury as he lunged at Xi Jue. "Scoundrel, today one of us shall perish!"
"Ha Ha..."
Xi Jue guffawed heartily. "My esteemed Brother, you are no match for me."
"Nor are we."
Jun Wuhen, Blood Soul, Qiu Yun, and the others also surged forward to confront Xi Jue, their eyes blazing red, appearing like vengeful demons.
"A gaggle of simpletons."
Jia Yi and Yuan Kui let out cold sneers before joining the fray.
"Hold..."
Xi Jue motioned to halt Jia Yi and Yuan Kui. "For these mere individuals, your intervention is unnecessary. I can handle them with ease."
"Ah..."
Yuan Kui and Jia Yi froze, a sense of awkwardness settling upon them. They had eagerly anticipated a chance to flaunt their skills and expend some pent-up energy. However, it now seemed that Xi Jue had no intention of conceding such an opportunity. Against a single formidable warrior of the Legendary Realm and several lesser cultivators at the Grandmaster Realm, subduing Xi Jue presented a considerable challenge. In confrontations between Legendary Realm powerhouses, the presence of Grandmaster Realm combatants offered little substantial assistance.
