The Supreme Wild Young Master Chapter 656 Celestial Path_1
Previously on The Supreme Wild Young Master...
In Huaxia, nestled within a secluded forest, lay a rather peculiar village.
An elder stood in a courtyard, his arms moving through a set of martial art forms. His pace was as measured as a slow-crawling snail.
Yet, any true master observing him would discern that beneath the unhurried movements and lack of outward strength lay profound martial arts concepts, hinting at the pinnacle of martial prowess.
"Group Leader..."
A middle-aged man entered the courtyard.
"What is it?"
The elder continued his slow, deliberate movements.
"Our informants have detected that Zhang Xian, Old Man Gui, and Zi Yu have departed from Lingxiao Island with haste. It appears they were summoned for urgent matters," the man reported.
The elder’s movements ceased abruptly. A frown creased his brow as he inquired, "Old Man Gui and Zhang Xian are together? He has revealed himself?"
"Yes," the middle-aged man confirmed.
The elder nodded slowly. "I understand. Instruct them to maintain their surveillance. Any new developments are to be reported to me immediately."
"Understood, Group Leader." The middle-aged man bowed slightly and withdrew from the courtyard.
Left alone, the elder stood in contemplation. "Senior Brother has always operated from the shadows. Why has he surfaced now? And why is Zi Yu with him?"
...
Somewhere in Huaxia's dense forest, three figures moved with incredible speed.
Leading the group was an old man draped in grey robes. Following closely behind him were a young man and a woman.
These three were none other than Old Man Gui, Zhang Xian, and Zi Yu.
Weaving through the thick vines and dense undergrowth, their passage was as effortless as traversing open terrain. They moved like a swift breeze, a blur through the trees.
"This is the location."
Abruptly, Old Man Gui halted before a colossal stone monument. "The last time I chanced upon this area, I discovered a cave entrance. Just as I was about to step inside, it vanished, and this immense stone monument materialized. The sudden shift in scenery suggests this place is shielded by a formation," he explained.
"There are inscriptions on this monument," Zi Yu observed, her gaze fixed on the stone. "However, the script is rather unusual."
Zhang Xian remarked, "These are characters from the Ancient Times. A formation does indeed guard this place, but it’s remarkably weak. Otherwise, Master, you would not have uncovered its secret."
"You mean to imply..."
Old Man Gui turned to Zhang Xian, a thoughtful expression on his face. "The formation is nearing its dissipation, perhaps its power is waning, causing it to revert to its true state?"
"Precisely..."
Zhang Xian nodded. "This site holds a deeper significance. The words inscribed on this monument read 'Immortal Path'."
"Immortal Path?" Old Man Gui's expression shifted with dawning realization.
Zhang Xian observed him closely. "Master, do you know something of this?"
"Years ago, I acquired a peculiar tome, a fact I’ve never shared with you. The characters within were utterly indecipherable to me, likely of the same origin as these on the monument. Yet, that book possessed a unique ability to convey information. It imparted a single revelation to me," Old Man Gui stated gravely.
Zhang Xian inquired, "And what revelation was that?"
Old Man Gui met Zhang Xian's gaze. "How much do you truly grasp of the Ancient Times? When you received that ancient inheritance, I harbored suspicions. After obtaining that strange book, despite its cryptic nature, its method of information transmission astounded me. Now, the presence of a formation at this location, combined with the echoes of antiquity..."
"My knowledge is limited," Zhang Xian admitted.
"However, the occurrences of the Ancient Times are undeniable. After all, I did receive the inheritance, did I not?"
"Hmm, I am now entirely persuaded."
Old Man Gui continued, his voice filled with wonder. "Having lived so long and attained the zenith of martial arts, I never imagined I would remain like a frog in a well. This world is truly boundless in its marvels! In truth, beyond our current plane of existence, another dimension awaits. The supreme cultivators of the Ancient Times departed our known realm via a teleportation array."
"Departed through this 'Immortal Path'?"
Zhang Xian, already privy to some of these developments, remained composed. "Did that book elaborate on the reasons for the mass exodus of Ancient cultivators? Why did they choose to leave?"
"The Spirit Veins were depleted, and the Spiritual Energy became insufficient, rendering the world no longer conducive to cultivation."
Old Man Gui stated, "The reason why is not mentioned in the book, as if deliberately sidestepping the topic. However, it was noted that upon their departure, they left behind a legacy: a teleportation array. Should a fortunate individual of a later generation discover it, they could utilize the array to depart from Earth and journey to their realm."
"Is the inheritance the one I obtained?"
Zhang Xian rubbed his nose and chuckled, "I'm a bit perplexed. Why would they leave only a single inheritance? Wouldn't it be more beneficial to provide several, offering hope to more people? And why did they take everything from their sect, leaving nothing for us? Wouldn't Earth be unable to travel to their dimension without resources?"
"The more individuals there are, the greater the potential for conflict. That is why they did not leave more," Old Man Gui explained with a laugh. "As for resources, they stipulated that unless one is a Heaven Bearer, journeying to their realm would result in death. Consequently, they did not leave any resources behind."
"The Heaven Bearer?" Zhang Xian’s face contorted into a wry smile.
The term 'Heaven Bearer' refers to individuals possessing exceptionally good fortune, favored by the heavens in their cultivation journey.
He was uncertain if he qualified as a Heaven Bearer, but he had stumbled and fumbled his way to his current standing, already having one foot in the Spiritual Origin Realm.
He had consumed the elixir. Once it took effect, he would step into the Spiritual Origin Realm, becoming a genuine cultivator.
"Are you discussing the Ancient Times?"
Zi Yu, standing nearby and appearing somewhat bewildered, inquired, "We seemed to have encountered an ancient sect earlier, and there was a teleportation array within. This is the path of the Immortals; what was that?"
"Precisely!"
Zhang Xian, pondering the ancient sect, responded, "This signifies the Immortal path. What was the purpose of the teleportation array within that sect?"
"You encountered a teleportation array in that sect?" Old Man Gui asked, his surprise evident.
Zhang Xian nodded. "Uh, I believe I did see a teleportation array in that sect, a rather substantial one. However, I have no clue on how to activate it."
"You cannot activate it in your current state."
Old Man Gui elaborated, "The texts clearly stated that activating the teleportation array necessitates power at the Celestial Origin Realm."
"Celestial Origin Realm?"
Zhang Xian's mouth twitched uncomfortably. "I haven't even broken through to the Spiritual Origin Realm yet. Given the cultivation environment on Earth, when will I ever reach the Celestial Origin Realm?"
"You can collaborate with several others."
Old Man Gui suggested with a smile. "As long as your combined spiritual energy reaches the equivalent of the Celestial Origin Realm, you can activate the teleportation array."
"Celestial Origin Realm..."
Zhang Xian sighed. "The Celestial Origin Realm is a higher tier than the Spiritual Origin Realm, and the density of spiritual energy is on an entirely different level. It would require at least three cultivators at the Spiritual Origin Realm."
"Then find three."
Old Man Gui said, "You have quite a few wives. Yao Rao and Zi Yu are both promising, with excellent innate talents. If you can acquire some resources, breaking through to the Spiritual Origin Realm wouldn't be an issue, right? Of course, obtaining resources might prove difficult, and you might not find any at all... But as long as you are patient, they too could one day enter the Spiritual Origin Realm."
"Uh..."
Zhang Xian inquired, his expression one of astonishment, "Is this the reason you arranged for them to marry me?"
"What did you think?"
Old Man Gui chuckled. "Two beautiful women personally selected by your master... aren't you pleased?"
"No..."
Zhang Xian flashed a grin. "How could I possibly not be pleased?"
"I had no other choice."
Old Man Gui explained further, "After all, the matter of cultivation involves too much. I simply wouldn't entrust it to anyone else, so I had to select two women for you. I cannot vouch for others, but I have complete faith in Yao Rao and Zi Yu. Once you have enhanced their abilities and secured one or two more individuals, you will be able to activate the teleportation array."
"You old fool..."
Zhang Xian regarded Old Man Gui, asking, "Are you attempting to make me leave this place?"
"What, you are unwilling to go?" Old Man Gui asked with a smile.
Zhang Xian laughed and offered no reply.
"Zhang Xian..."
Zi Yu looked at Zhang Xian, her brow furrowed. "Didn't you hesitate to answer before because you didn't want to leave?"
"What did I not answer?" Zhang Xian queried, looking at Zi Yu.
Zi Yu stated, "Back at the sect, when you saw the teleportation array, your expression was clearly different. I believe it pertains to this matter."
"Have you ever heard a saying?"
Zhang Xian let out a chuckle. “It’s better to be the head of a chicken than the tail of a great bird. I’m content here, so why would I wish to depart? Moreover, I still lack the strength to defend myself. Escorting you two would be tantamount to seeking death, wouldn’t it? You must realize I’ve only just embarked on the cultivation journey; venturing into the world of cultivators would be like presenting myself as a sacrificial lamb.”
“Uh…” Zi Yu was left speechless.
Old Man Gui was also taken aback, his gaze fixed on Zhang Xian. He hadn’t anticipated the young man’s perspective.
Immortality could be attained by cultivators who reached a certain level. Old Man Gui found it surprising that Zhang Xian would forgo such a prospect.
Regaining his composure, he offered a smile. “The choice to go or stay is yours; I shall not intervene. However, you ought to give consideration to your Senior Sister’s predicament.”
Zhang Xian flashed a grin. “Naturally.”
“Hey…”
Blushing, Zi Yu shot an angry glare at Old Man Gui. “Master, how could you? I… I should have the right to decide my own matters.”
“You may decide all other matters, but not this one,” Old Man Gui stated firmly. “To be a master for a day means being a father for a lifetime. As your master, I might not be able to make every decision for you, but your Master has already given his consent. Therefore, you must marry Zhang Xian.”
“I refuse…” Zi Yu turned her head away. “This is exceedingly unfair, having my lifelong union decided without my agreement.”
“What is unfair?”
At this precise moment, a figure emerged from the distance. “I have already discussed your union with Zhang Xian with your Master. You are to abide by this arrangement and refrain from any troublemaking.”
