Mo Shaoyun, the most beautiful woman in Yenjing and CEO of Tiannan Group, attends a banquet. A persistent suitor, Cao Ge, confesses his feelings for the 32nd time but is rejected as Mo Shaoyun admits she has someone else in her heart. Suddenly, a man named Zhang Xian loudly proclaims Mo Shaoyun as his wife, causing a stir among the guests. Zhang Xian then approaches Mo Shaoyun, presenting her with a bracelet and claiming to be the man she has been waiting for, much to the shock and amusement of the onlookers.

The words struck Mo Shaoyun dumb, leaving her momentarily frozen, her mind a complete blank. It took a considerable amount of time before she could even begin to process what she had heard. Was this the man she was destined to marry, the man she had exchanged vows with a decade ago? Why was he appearing now, and in such a fashion? Wasn't this simply meant to humiliate her?

She knew that today marked the grand opening of the Hua Entertainment Amusement Park, an event attended by Beijing's most influential business magnates. If they were to discover her secret fiancé, how could she possibly face them ever again?

"This is for you, happy birthday," Zhang Xian said, extending his hand with a smile.

Mo Shaoyun neither accepted nor dared to accept the gift. Should these prominent figures realize that Zhang Xian was her betrothed, she would be too mortified to ever show her face in public again.

She was renowned as Beijing's most beautiful woman, a figure akin to a goddess, and also the esteemed CEO of Tiannan Group, a woman of immense influence in the capital. She had never anticipated her husband to be the world's most perfect man, nor did she expect him to possess extraordinary gifts, but surely they should at least be considered equals? Did Zhang Xian, in his current state, meet this minimum requirement? This abrupt appearance felt like a direct assault on her reputation.

"President Mo, what is the meaning of this? Is this gentleman your husband? How is it that I've never heard you mention being married?"

"Indeed! President Mo, that's quite unfair of you. Such a significant event, and you didn't even inform us. Look, your husband isn't bad at all! A truly outstanding individual!"

"I must say, I suspect there's been some sort of misunderstanding. How could a woman as exceptional as President Mo have a husband standing before us like this? While I won't deny the gentleman is handsome, his flair seems rather pedestrian. How could someone like him possibly be a match for Beijing's number one beauty?"

"I believe you're quite right. President Mo, this man must be here to insult you. Shall I have someone escort him out, to spare you the sight of him any longer?"

A considerable crowd had gathered around Mo Shaoyun, feigning concern while their words dripped with thinly veiled mockery. Individuals of their social standing were remarkably adept at practicing subtle forms of criticism.

As Mo Shaoyun absorbed the surrounding sarcastic remarks, her exquisite face flushed a deep crimson, and her delicate form trembled almost imperceptibly.

Today, she had suffered an immense loss of face. Zhang Xian's unexpected arrival provided those who looked down on her with the perfect opportunity to voice their disapproval. The barrage of humiliation and ridicule struck her like a relentless tidal wave, inflicting profound emotional distress. Having navigated the competitive Beijing business scene, she had endured countless overt and covert conflicts, yet none had ever felt as degrading as this moment. She was utterly incapable of mounting a defense.

Zhang Xian observed the widespread derision and Mo Shaoyun's visibly embarrassed face, a look of confusion crossing his features. However, he didn't dwell on it, extending his gift once more: "Shaoyun, this is for you."

"I don't want it. Please leave!" Mo Shaoyun managed to choke out the words, her anger barely contained.

Zhang Xian appeared taken aback, uncertain of Mo Shaoyun's meaning. Had he endured this arduous journey only to be treated in such a manner?

"Shaoyun, what is happening?" Cao Ge approached, glancing at Zhang Xian before turning to Mo Shaoyun with a question: "Who is this gentleman?"

Mo Shaoyun opened her mouth to respond, but before she could utter a word...

A middle-aged man suddenly materialized, his laughter echoing loudly. "Haha, Mo Shaoyun, I truly didn't foresee this! This fellow is your husband? How is it that I've never heard mention of him? We consider ourselves old rivals, how could you keep such a secret? But your husband, he seems presentable enough on the surface at least! Hey everyone, cast your eyes upon him. He certainly possesses a certain style, doesn't he?"

The man's sudden appearance instantly injected a provocative energy into the gathering. Those with strained relationships with Mo Shaoyun began to snicker.

While they considered themselves members of high society, they refrained from the boisterous display of the middle-aged man. Instead, they watched from the periphery with cool detachment, anticipating the unfolding drama.

"I... I don't know him." Unable to endure the situation any longer, Mo Shaoyun turned and began to walk away.

"Mo Shaoyun, what is the meaning of this?" Zhang Xian pursued her, grasping Mo Shaoyun's hand and demanding in a sharp tone, "What about that rainy day ten years ago? What was it that we agreed upon back then?"

"I..." Mo Shaoyun pulled her hand free from Zhang Xian's grasp, preparing to unleash some cutting words. However, upon meeting the intense darkness of Zhang Xian's gaze, the words caught in her throat.

After a brief moment of hesitation, she drew a deep breath and stated coldly, "Zhang Xian, it's true we had a marriage contract ten years ago. But that was merely my grandfather's decree; he lacked the absolute authority to represent my wishes fully."

A sudden hush descended upon the room the moment she uttered her words. Could this disheveled young man truly be Mo Shaoyun's betrothed?

"Little Thief..." Cao Ge's countenance shifted dramatically. He strode forward, seizing Zhang Xian's arm, his voice laced with fury as he ground his teeth, "Release Shaoyun at once and keep your vile hands off her; do not defile her garments."

"Beg your pardon?" Zhang Xian swiveled his head, fixing Cao Ge with a chilling glare.

"Hmph, what do I mean?" Cao Ge responded with a sneer. "Why don't you care to articulate my meaning? Take a long, hard look at yourself. Do you genuinely believe you are a suitable match for Shaoyun? Is it not akin to a toad aspiring to the swan? Little Thief, we inhabit different spheres; our reality is far beyond the comprehension of a destitute wretch like yourself. I grant you precisely one minute to depart."

"Slap..." Zhang Xian released Mo Shaoyun's hand, his palm connecting sharply with Cao Ge's face. "I find you rather unimpressive; dealing with you will be as simple as child's play."

Caught entirely off guard, Cao Ge was violently flung backward by the impact. He landed awkwardly, a stark crimson handprint branding his pale visage.

He could scarcely believe this country bumpkin had the audacity to lay hands upon him. Did this fellow possess any inkling of his identity?

"Damn it, what in the world is happening?"

The assembled onlookers, their eyes wide with disbelief, stared at Cao Ge sprawled on the floor.

Could it be true? The esteemed Young Master of the Cao family had been slapped by a mere country bumpkin? And this bumpkin was Mo Shaoyun's intended? Today's turn of events was certainly proving to be a spectacle!

"Zhang Xian, you..." Mo Shaoyun's jaw slackened in astonishment.

What was his intention? Why was he instigating conflict? Would he merely bring further trouble upon the Mo family?

"Young Master..." Two bodyguards stationed nearby hastened to his side.

"You... You actually dared to strike me?" Cao Ge scrambled to his feet, his rage causing his eyes to bulge as he glared at Zhang Xian. He then barked orders at the two bodyguards, "What are you two dawdling for? Get him!"

The two bodyguards wasted no time, charging toward Zhang Xian with furious intent.

"You..." Mo Shaoyun, overcome with a surge of fear, longed to rush forward and intervene, to halt the approaching bodyguards.

However, with all eyes fixed upon her, she also wished to avoid appearing overly familiar with Zhang Xian. Ultimately, she restrained herself, her gaze fixed anxiously on the unfolding scene.

"Just the two of you?" Zhang Xian scoffed, completely unfazed, and surged forward. He moved like a charging tiger, his momentum carrying him toward the two bodyguards.

His sole purpose in coming here was to find his wife. He couldn't fathom why these individuals regarded him with scorn and animosity, seemingly intent on belittling Mo Shaoyun by targeting him.

Though he hailed from the mountains and might possess a degree of provincial simplicity, this did not render him susceptible to being bullied. Should these individuals persist in their aggressive posturing, he would not hesitate to create a significant disturbance and teach them a lesson with a slap or two.
