The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] Chapter 1148: The First Stretch

It was like being able to breathe again.
As though something inside him had suddenly shifted, the redhead’s lungs, which had nearly slowed to a complete stop, finally drew in air with ease. More than that, Jax felt himself become drenched in something he hadn’t even realized he’d been lacking until it seeped all the way into his bones, only to return a refreshing, comforting reassurance.
This feeling...
"..."
Just like last time.
And the time before that.
And all the other times before those.
Whenever things became overwhelming, Killian somehow found his way to them—to him—and made everything better.
With his chin tilted upward and his face cradled by familiar, steady hands, Jax found himself relaxing almost immediately. He remained where he was without the slightest resistance, undoubtedly connected to Killian once again. The official would probably scold him later. Jax could already picture it. Always sounding annoyed, yet somehow even more concerned than angry.
Back when they were younger, Killian used to declare, "That’ll be the first and last time I help you," before threatening to report every single one of them himself if they did anything reckless ever again.
Yet time after time, they’d proven those grand declarations wrong, because in the end, he’d still be the one rushing over, medical wand in hand after somehow smuggling it over, quietly patching up cuts and bruises while muttering under his breath about how troublesome they all were.
Always so considerate.
Even recently, Killian had been the one trying to come up with alternatives to this kind of physical intimacy. His eventual solution had been to simply hug or cuddle instead. The spiritual energy transfer would undoubtedly be slower that way and would probably take much longer, but at least, as he’d awkwardly put it, they wouldn’t have to do... "you know what."
Jax still found that amusing.
Killian never seemed willing to actually say the words "kissing" or "making out". Instead, he’d go to impressive lengths to skirt around them as though refusing to acknowledge the vocabulary somehow made the whole situation less embarrassing.
It was honestly a little bit of a shame.
Jax personally preferred their original method, though he never complained after they switched to cuddling, massages, and the occasional little pecks here and there.
Apparently, Killian was perfectly fine with those.
He’d even awkwardly explained one day that kissing wasn’t entirely off-limits. It was simply... situational. Or rather, according to the increasingly flustered official, it was more acceptable in places other than their lips.
Jax distinctly remembered blinking several times after hearing that.
The explanation had surprised him.
Oddly enough, it had even left him feeling just a little disappointed.
Then again, it was also one of the rare occasions where Killian, who normally insisted on defining every little clause before agreeing to anything, had stumbled over his own words badly enough that he ended up leaving almost everything frustratingly open-ended. Somehow, that alone already felt surprisingly generous coming from someone like him.
Besides, because they’d started doing other things instead, Jax had also discovered something else he rather liked.
Killian’s neck.
For some reason, it always flushed whenever it was touched, grazed, or kissed, and Jax found himself becoming rather fascinated by that discovery.
That was enjoyable too.
Though, if he were being honest, it also taught him that Killian still needed a lot more conditioning, because after only a few minutes the young official’s muscles always seemed to melt into jelly, leaving him so thoroughly exhausted that the only reliable cure appeared to be taking an exceptionally long nap afterward.
Ah, though that wasn’t so bad, too.
Still...
Even though he’d genuinely enjoyed all of those little discoveries, now that they were connected like this once again, there was no doubt in Jax’s mind.
This was still his favorite.
The thought quietly settled inside him, as though it had always belonged there.
Without even realizing it, the corners of Jax’s lips lifted into the faintest, most contented smile, one that remained even as his lips stayed pressed against Killian’s.
Finally, as though the world had decided to move again, his once-frozen fingers twitched.
The stiffness gradually left his body as he slowly raised a hand to cup Killian’s face. He still sat there with his legs sprawled across the floor, his current upright posture supported only by the young official’s grip after his knees had already given out, while the latter remained leaning over him from where he’d thrown himself forward without the slightest hesitation. Balanced on one knee, his shadow fell entirely over the redhead beneath him.
The moment that familiar hand found his face, Killian instinctively leaned into the touch before he even realized he’d done so.
Jax did the same.
His head tipped back ever so slightly, seeking the contact as though his body had already decided it had gone far too long without it. Relief swept through him in a fresh, overwhelming wave, carrying with it that same reassuring sense of safety he’d come to associate with Killian’s presence.
Their connection deepened once more, and with it came another powerful surge of spiritual energy that flowed steadily into him, no longer in scattered bursts but in a continuous current that felt like an entire tide returning to shore.
A quiet sigh escaped Jax before he could stop it.
Without thinking, his other fingers curled into the fabric of Killian’s collar, drawing him just a fraction closer.
Surprisingly, or perhaps precisely because it felt this good, some instinctive part of him quietly insisted that it wasn’t nearly enough.
Maybe...
Maybe he was allowed to be a little greedy, too.
Killian, meanwhile, had long since stopped paying attention to anything beyond the person beneath him. Feeling Jax respond so naturally, so eagerly, stirred something inside him that was becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
Before he knew it, he was returning the pressure just as instinctively, his lips lingering instead of pulling away as another steady stream of spiritual energy flowed between them.
The urgency that had brought them together gradually gave way to something needier.
He would’ve liked to say softer, but that would’ve just been a lie when this already felt dangerously familiar.
Their breathing quietly fell into the same rhythm.
Neither of them noticed how much closer they’d drifted.
Neither of them acknowledged that the spiritual transfer had already stabilized.
Instead, their lips slowly parted more, lingering in that fleeting moment before naturally meeting again, as though both had unconsciously reached the same conclusion at the exact same time.
Just one more.
But then, just as they closed in for another taste—
A sharp, thoroughly undignified sound suddenly echoed from directly above them.
"!"
They were frozen on the spot, thinking that maybe they just hallucinated that.
But then—
Nope. Not a hallucination.
Unfortunately, the heated moment between those two shattered.
Because who would dare continue after hearing that?
"..."
"..."
It was, by all accounts, the majestic first cry announcing the birth of a legendary Queen Bee.
And to the bees, who had waited who knew how long for this very moment, it undoubtedly was.
For everyone else, however, particularly the already bewildered group outside the medical bay, who’d only just witnessed what they were fairly certain had been an actual pressing of lips before Xavier’s hastily erected ice wall mercifully spared them from their intrusive thoughts winning...
Well.
The occasion felt significantly more confusing.
"...Mr. Quackers?"
Sure, it had probably been a life-saving quack.
But why, exactly, did the legendary Queen Bee...
Sound like a duck?
__
Perhaps it was karma for the uncultured who had no idea that Queen bees voicing their intent to come out would in reality sound like that.
Because before anyone could even voice their opinions, another brilliant burst of light erupted from above Jax’s head. The cracked shell finally split apart completely, sending tiny fragments dissolving into glittering motes as something bright detached itself from the remains and slowly floated upward.
Everyone instinctively squinted their eyes against the fading brilliance.
When the light finally receded enough for them to see clearly, all that remained suspended in the middle of the room was a perfectly round puff of golden fluff.
"..."
"..."
It floated there quietly.
No bigger than a small cushion.
A soft sphere of warm amber fur.
Then, as if set on giving everyone a heart attack...
Two oversized black antennae suddenly poked out from the fluffy bundle.
The unexpected movement made more than one person visibly jolt.
The antennae lazily flopped to either side before the little puff gave a tiny wiggle. More rustling immediately followed, and just like that, every pair of eyes inside and outside the medical bay became completely glued to the tiny floating ball.
Nobody even remembered to breathe.
Tiny clawed hands emerged first.
Then came delicate translucent wings that slowly unfolded behind the fluffy body, stretching outward until they shimmered beneath the light like polished crystal. Intricate veins traced across each wing, glowing softly with the warm color of flowing honey as they flexed for the very first time.
The little puff wriggled again.
This time, short black stubs for legs devoid of individual toes pushed outward one after another, reminding everyone of a tiny child stretching after a very long sleep.
Only then did the rest of her finally reveal itself.
Long waves of honey-blonde hair cascaded from beneath the golden fluff, spilling almost all the way to her tiny knees. It looked impossibly soft, every strand carrying the warm luster of sunlight poured over amber as gentle curls framed an equally tiny face.
Rounded cheeks still carried the unmistakable softness of infancy.
Around her neck rested an extravagant mantle of impossibly soft golden fluff that flowed seamlessly into equally plush cuffs around her wrists, making her look as though she’d been wrapped in the warmth of an eternal spring. The sight alone was enough to make anyone wonder just how unbelievably soft it must feel.
She looked almost doll-like.
And yet...
There was something about her quiet little presence that made it difficult to look away.
Everyone simply stared.
People found themselves blinking again and again, almost unable to believe that this tiny creature, not even a foot tall, had actually been the reason for the intense, unnatural disasters just moments ago.
But even if they originally had plans to scold, which idiot would be able to do that now?
Those enormous golden eyes...
How could they possibly be that big?
How could something so unbelievably tiny...
...be that adorable?
Outside the medical bay room, watching everything unfold through the projection, current heads of at least two noble households quietly reached exactly the same conclusion without needing to exchange a single word.
The inheritance.
Increase it.
Immediately.
At this level of cuteness...
Forget the originally set number.
If the little Queen Bee ever wanted their titles too, they honestly weren’t entirely opposed to discussing the matter.
