The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] Chapter 1087: The Swarm

This was not the type of thing one would ever want to encounter on their way to bed.
But there he was, standing still, his eyes locked onto the large shifting mass vibrating just a few paces ahead of him instead of enjoying the comforts of his bed.
The bizarre thing had just let out a muffled and deeply desperate cry for help, and now Killian was frantically trying to figure out what exactly he was supposed to do with that information.
His mind rapidly ran through the threat assessment protocols he knew, yet absolutely none of them accounted for a giant buzzing creature asking for assistance in the middle of Luca’s supposedly peaceful dungeon space.
Moreover, if this place were under attack, wouldn’t D-29 be screeching by now?
Or had he just been too busy for so long that he hadn’t heard about the presence of new beasts?
That was honestly the only reason why he hadn’t swung a blade yet. What if he decapitated a guardian beast by accident?
But what even was he looking at?
The thing buzzed ominously.
Killian’s spiritual energy sharpened instinctively as he prepared for the worst once again.
But before he could come up with a single coherent plan, the suspenseful standoff was shattered completely.
The massive shape suddenly shifted.
It moved toward him.
Part of the large mass reached blindly out from whatever the hell that thing was, just before the entire horrifying thing broke into a full sprint directly at him.
"!!!"
"!!!!!!"
The number of exclamations in his brain couldn’t even be accounted for, as Killian nearly jumped out of his skin.
Because the thing didn’t just move, it charged.
"What the actual fu—"
The respectable, albeit dead-tired, eldest son of House Nox immediately scrambled backward before bolting towards the direction he came from so quickly that he didn’t even get the chance to launch an attack.
Honestly, the sheer surprise of the situation had spiritually flashbanged him.
"Get the hell away from me!" Killian cursed under his breath as his boots pounded furiously against the ground.
Behind him came the horrifying sound of aggressive buzzing.
Loud buzzing.
Way too much buzzing.
And somehow, impossibly, terrifyingly...fast buzzing.
The faceless monstrosity pursued him with alarming speed while a muffled voice continued crying out from somewhere deep inside the swarm.
"—ian! Wai—Plfff!"
"Hell no!"
"I can’t see!"
"That sounds like a personal issue!"
The full-grown man darted away before nearly slipping as the buzzing nightmare followed him without slowing down in the slightest.
How was it that fast?!
Killian risked one glance backward and immediately regretted it.
Because the giant lump of vibrating darkness was somehow keeping pace with him while blindly reaching out like a horror creature trying to drag him into the abyss.
"Oh fuck me—" he hissed while thinking of vaulting over the nearest outdoor bench.
However, his plans were thwarted by a situation he would forever remember: he—the man with perfect vision, despite all the grueling work—slammed against a wall that had suddenly appeared before him?!
"Ow—?!"
Killian staggered backward after slamming face-first into something solid enough to rattle his teeth.
For one deeply confusing moment, his vision spun so violently that he nearly forgot what he’d even been doing in the first place.
Why was he running again?
And from what?!
Unfortunately, he was forced to remember very quickly.
Because just as his blurred vision returned, Killian cranked his neck around—
Only to see the massive shape behind him completely lose its balance and topple directly toward him.
"!!!"
The daunting mass loomed overhead like a collapsing mountain, so massive that it swallowed nearly everything in front of him in shadow.
And in that horrifying moment, Killian genuinely felt as though the thing was about to devour him alive.
Naturally, his currently abhorrent survival instincts immediately detonated into existence.
So, somewhere amidst the otherwise peaceful dungeon space, a shrill cry suddenly tore through the area with enough force to alert an otherwise binge-watchi—resting, dungeon manager.
Now, a certain individual would absolutely deny several specific details about the incident in the future...
But every listening plant in the vicinity would unanimously testify that the voice most definitely cracked somewhere in the middle of that scream.
__
"Hm?!"
Luca, who had been quietly enjoying the feeling of characters being traced onto his back by his husband, suddenly perked up.
He turned his head just in time for D-29 to announce that there seemed to be a slight issue somewhere nearby.
The peaceful and suspiciously sweet atmosphere between Luca and Xavier was immediately shattered.
And so, without hesitation, both of them rushed out to investigate.
What they found was...highly unusual.
The Elders had already arrived before them and were currently gathered around one particular area with unusually serious expressions.
More specifically, Elder Feng and Elder Pao Xi both had their hands raised slightly as though carefully sifting through an invisible pile while searching for something.
"..."
"???"
Luca slowed to a stop.
Then blinked.
"Jax...?"
"...And Brother Killian?"
The golden-eyed cadet stared in complete confusion as his extremely imaginative brain immediately attempted to piece together the bizarre scene before him.
There was a disheveled Killian on the ground, partially sitting upright like someone who had fallen directly onto his backside earlier.
And right between his legs was a completely slumped Jax whose head had somehow ended up pressed firmly against Killian’s torso.
However, that honestly wasn’t even the strangest part.
Because the two of them were partially obscured by a dense, writhing swarm of dark, moving shapes. And if not for the Elders seemingly intervening, Luca likely wouldn’t have been able to see them at all.
"!!!"
The newly arrived cadet froze.
Then, finally, over the increasingly concerning buzzing noises, he heard Elder Feng’s deeply exasperated voice.
"These bees," the Elder muttered while sounding seconds away from developing a headache. "How could they possibly be this crazy?"
Luca’s pupils dilated.
Crazy?
Wait.
Bees?!
"These are bees?!" Luca blurted out in horror.
Finally, the little beekeeper realized exactly what was wrong with the picture before him.
Because how in the world were these supposed to be bees?!
Where were the tiny fuzzy pollinators that looked like they were permanently wearing cozy striped sweaters?
Where were the adorable, hardworking little creatures who danced enthusiastically whenever they found flowers?
Where were the cute baby bees?!
Why were there several horrifying masses of darkness violently buzzing around like ominous flying calamities instead?!
And more importantly—
Were they seriously telling him that these gigantic night-colored creatures were his lovingly reared bees?!
Apparently yes.
Very much yes.
Unfortunately, while Luca was still struggling to process the inexplicable appearance of the worker bees, perhaps what he should’ve actually been worried about was something else entirely.
Specifically...
Where exactly was this colony’s Queen Bee?
