Choosing to ambush eight pursuers including a Corpsemender and Monitor while his allies retreated, he obliterated the Corpsemender with a Protean Arrow and bombarded the Monitor with enhanced Event Horizon and arrows, slaying it amid clashes with Deathstalkers. Now facing the six remaining Deathstalkers, Jake sheathed his bow and drew katars, grinning as they charged.
