The president tried to trick me Chapter 3

Ignoring the livid Fang Shaoan, Xia Jinqi turned her attention back to herself and Yan Jun in the mirror.
This marked the second encounter between her and Yan Jun.
Their first meeting occurred a month prior, within the dimly lit confines of a bar.
Back then, the low lighting had obscured his features, preventing her from truly discerning his face.
It wasn't until this day, a full month later, with both families having finalized their union, that they were summoned to capture wedding photos, with the ceremony scheduled for the very next day.
In this moment, bathed in the clear light, she finally seemed to grasp his appearance.
His hair was neatly cropped short, his features sharply defined, creating a perfect visage. He was, undeniably, extraordinarily handsome—the most striking man she had ever laid eyes upon.
His current presentation only amplified this impression. The collar of his pristine white shirt was left partially unbuttoned, revealing a glimpse of his healthy, sun-kissed skin. His sleeves were casually rolled to his forearms, and a diamond-encrusted watch adorned his left wrist, bestowing upon him an aura of distinguished nobility.
He stood a full head taller than her, an imposing figure exuding a kingly presence that commanded unspoken deference. He possessed an almost god-like aura, as if he held the power to reshape the world in an instant.
While Xia Jinqi was silently appraising Yan Jun, he was equally engrossed in observing her.
He harbored a strong disdain for the pampered daughters of wealthy families, though he generally held no strong opinions. However, witnessing her earlier, somewhat sharp, interaction with Fang Shaoan, she appeared to be a person of delicate and charming disposition.
From his entrance, Yan Jun had approached this loveless marriage with indifference, not even bothering to meet her gaze.
Now, however, his perspective seemed to be shifting.
Her hair, like strands of dark seaweed, cascaded loosely down her back.
Her complexion was fair and unblemished, requiring minimal adornment. A subtle blush tinged her cheeks, lending her a delicate allure.
Beneath her gracefully arched eyebrows lay a pair of large, limpid eyes, clear and bright, untouched by the world's imperfections.
Her small nose and full lips, resembling ripe cherries poised for the picking, hinted at a subtle invitation.
Below, her exquisite collarbone was accentuated by the gentle rise and fall of her chest with each breath, reminiscent of a butterfly stirring in the early spring, on the verge of taking flight.
A few errant strands of hair playfully rested on her rounded shoulders, drifting towards a pink and white rose embellishment on her right chest.
Intricate white embroidery along the edges of the fabric highlighted her slender waist.
Her voluminous, flowing skirt was a faithful replica of a European medieval gown.
Adorning the hem was a generously sized pink bow, vibrant and lifelike, complemented by cascading layers of pink lace, creating an indescribably dreamy effect.
The overall color scheme was a harmonious blend of pink and white.
It was a vision of purity, yet it retained an undeniable innocence, so breathtakingly beautiful it felt like a dream.
Yan Jun's gaze darkened as he fixed his attention on her, his eyes as deep and enigmatic as the night sky.
Xia Jinqi had personally selected this dress, opting against the more conventional pure white or vibrant red.
She had not anticipated that her choice would so captivate the attention of the usually discerning man beside her.
As they continued their mutual inspection, the stylist and their assistants entered the room.
Upon witnessing the couple, whom they perceived as a perfect match, they couldn't help but let out a collective sigh of admiration.
“Miss Xia is truly fortunate! To have such a handsome, considerate, and wealthy fiancé who has booked the entire beach just for your wedding photos!”
“She should be addressed as Mrs. Yan already! They are widely recognized as the golden couple of high society! I heard their wedding is fast approaching!”
Golden couple. Xia Jinqi offered a self-deprecating laugh. Perhaps this was how they appeared to those unaware of the underlying reality.
In truth, her connection with him was far more complex than it appeared.
Lost in her thoughts, a sudden shift occurred as the man beside her, whose demeanor had been somewhat aloof, turned and extended his hand. “Let’s go, Mrs. Yan.”
His voice, clear and resonant, flowed like a mountain stream over smooth rocks—slightly cool, yet incredibly pleasant to the ear, a stark contrast to the cold, almost predatory tone he had exhibited earlier.
Xia Jinqi was left utterly bewildered, struggling to comprehend this man's dramatically fluctuating temperament!
