Yan Yuhan, who was recovering, agreed to return home once he could speak. However, his rescue team arrived by helicopter in the middle of the night, and he departed silently, leaving behind a significant sum of money. The next day, the residents discovered his departure, realizing the true extent of his connections.

While the other two chatted excitedly, only An Zijin remained in prolonged silence.

She exited the building by herself, her gaze drifting absently towards the distant White Mountain.

She had truly departed then…

..

It was nearing midday when Yan Yuhan arrived back at the Yan family residence.

His initial stop was a comprehensive medical examination to assure everyone he was genuinely unharmed, before heading home.

Otherwise, his family would have been consumed by worry.

His grandparents had taken turns visiting his room, their anxiety palpable, fearing for his well-being.

His parents remained quiet, yet their expressions clearly conveyed their distress.

After each family member had paid their respects, it was Yan Yusheng’s turn.

Upon entering the room, her eyes were swollen and red, much like a rabbit's, evidence of her tears.

“Brother!” she cried, rushing into Yan Yuhan’s embrace, her voice thick with sobs. “You’re finally back! I thought… I thought…”

She trailed off, but Yan Yuhan understood her unspoken fears. He gently patted her back, his voice soothing, “It’s alright, I’m fine now.”

“You still say you’re fine!” Yan Yusheng pulled away, her gaze falling on the cuts adorning his face, fresh tears welling up. “With all these injuries, how can you even say that!”

She glanced at the medical report, which detailed extensive soft tissue contusions across his body and a fever that had afflicted his throat.

Yan Yuhan offered a smile, wiping away her tears. “If you keep crying, Mom and Dad will hear and come in.”

“…” Yan Yusheng sniffled, then confessed, “That night, Brother Dashu returned first. When he said your whereabouts were unknown, I was terrified. However, after Brother Dashu explained your arrangements, I kept it from our parents, holding the secret. Thankfully, you’re back now. Otherwise… I truly don’t know how I would have explained it all to them.”

Yan Yuhan had been missing for a total of three days. During this time, Yan Yusheng had guarded his secret, leading their family to believe he was merely away on business.

It wasn't until his return today that everyone discovered he had sustained injuries.

He recounted how the initial plan had gone smoothly until, following an explosion, the resulting airflow had swept him down a hillside.

Subsequently, he was found by An Zijin and Tu Ming, who happened to be passing by. By sheer chance, he became separated from Wu Shu and the others.

Yan Yuhan smiled, looking at Yan Yusheng, and couldn't resist reaching out to ruffle her hair. “Our little Puff is so clever, even managing to deceive her own parents.”

“…You’re still smiling!” Yan Yusheng huffed indignantly. She was about to retort when a knock at the door interrupted her.

Wu Shu pushed the door open and, seeing Yan Yusheng present, greeted them both. “Young Master, Miss.”

Noticing Wu Shu carrying something, Yan Yusheng stood up. “Brother, you two talk. I’ll return later.”

With that, she excused herself and left.

Wu Shu closed the door and approached Yan Yuhan’s bedside. “Young Master, the operation last night was a complete success. Han Zhang is dead. By the time Han Jingjing rushed back, it was too late; she was apprehended by the ambushing police officers. Chief Huo has taken her into custody, and the Chief intends to carry out her execution discreetly.”

Yan Yuhan listened, his dark eyes betraying no emotion, his expression unchanged. “What about the situation in Macau?”

“The individuals who journeyed there met with unexpected hospitality and are now in discussions regarding their return,” Wu Shu replied, handing a document to Yan Yuhan. “This is the intelligence provided by Zhao Bao.”

Yan Yuhan skimmed through the document and stated calmly, “Since they’ve gone to Macau, they should remain there.”

Wu Shu looked taken aback, questioning inwardly if the Young Master intended to prevent those individuals from returning.
